Rick and Lucy got married on a summer-like day with a warm sun.
Ceremony was held in the wonderful church of Ascensione in Cadenabbia the same church Kristi and Ben chose. Do you remember about our post An Unforgettable Wedding at Villa del Balbianello?

During the protestant ceremony Koinè String Quartet played some classical tunes as per bride and groom’s requests, like Marriage of Fiagaro by Mozart, Music for the Royal Fireworks by Handel and Air on a G String by Bach.

Lucy had a pretty bouquet made up with white callas and Vendela roses. Decorations in the church was arranged with only white lilies on the pews leading the bride to the altar.

Amy was really good catching the best moments of the boat ride but she was shocked by the speed of the motorway itself!
Italians drive boats like they drive cars!

Lake Como Beach Club was mentioned in Alessandra’s post Sooo Stilish! in occasion of Antonin and Louise’s wedding.

During the party Koinè String Quartet played a wide selection of movie soundtracks, pop music and standard jazz. The best moment was when musicians played a long Beatles Medley specially asked by bride and groom.
While string quartet entertained guests with their lovely music, Amy took some great pictures on the Beach Club on Lake Como.

When we have the opportunity, we love to do something different with the wedding party. Before everyone asks us to do this, consider that we need the right balance of guys/girls, a decent location with space and great light and a little bit of time. Finally, everyone has to be willing! We love how this one turned out.

Ricky and Lucy’s party ended late at night with dances music and lot of fun!

Bellagio will be our next destination on our trip on Lake Como together with Koinè String Quartet and Amy Turner. Stay tuned!

With this first post we would love to show you some images taken from weddings planned on Lake Como where both Koinè Quartet and Amy Turner were present.

The first wedding we tell you about is Sarah-Louise and Karl’s in Villa del Balbianello in Lenno.

Everytime Amy works in Villa del Balbianello she is always amazed by this wonderful venue:

I am so, so lucky to visit the beautiful places that wedding photography takes me to and to be witness to some of the most magical, romantic moments in some of the most magical, romantic settings on earth. It’s almost impossible to choose my favourite venue given that a Castle in Tuscany differs so much from a Villa on the Amalfi Coast, a top Hotel in Rome and the stunning gardens alongside the Italian Lakes. However, if I was forced to choose my favourite wedding venue then this would be it: Villa del Balbianello, Lenno, Lake Como.

After getting ready to Grand Hotel Britannia Excelsior in Cadenabbia, Sarah-Louise and Karl reached Villa del Balbianello with a motorboat.

The blessing has been held under the famous Loggia of the villa with the classical music background of Koinè String Quartet.
As Sarah-Louise wanted the quartet played a classical repertoire starting from Pachelbel’s Canon for the bride’s arrival and ended with Arrival of the Queen of Sheba by Georg Friedrich Handel.

Look at Amy’s picture at the confetti’s throwing?

Confetti – not just ordinary confetti however! Sarah-Louise’s mum had saved this from her own wedding 30-odd years ago.

She’d decided back then that if she ever had a daughter, she would throw this confetti for her on her own wedding day!

Civil ceremony was celebrated in the garden of Villa Bossi, Orta San Giulio Town Hall.
The garden was even more beautiful thanks to wisteria blooming pergola that arrives down to the shores.
Koiné String Quartet were Italian Lakes Wedding representatives. They accompanied the ceremony with some of their best tunes such as “The arrival of the Queen of Sheba” and “Pachelbell’s Canon in Re”.

Italian Lakes Wedding would like to wish to Claire and Rory all the best and thanks for choosing Lake Orta and Koiné String Quartet for their wedding in Italy.

This moment merits to have the most positive and intensive soul companion what music always had been, music that touches us deeply and makes the cords of our souls swing in the sweetest way.
It is a very personal matter that can differ from “You are the one that I love” (musical Grease) to “Nessun dorma” from Puccini (Turandot).

Most couples chose to get married in spring, because April, May and June are typically considered the appropriate time for a traditional wedding.
But if you are planning to get married in Italy , and in particular in the lakes area, you may consider seriously the idea of getting married in winter and in particular in December.
“Why?”, you may ask. “But because it is Christmas time” I say! And your marriage can take advantage of “the most beautiful time of the year”!
