We already mentioned other times the great importance of having a good one to have a perfect reception.
Today we would love to introduce a different catering company. It was founded and grew up on the lakes and this allowed it to have a wide experience in most important villas, castles, wedding venue on Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta.
This is an important detail to consider while choosing a catering service for your reception.

We are talking about Delicatezze a Casa Vostra, a banqueting and catering company. Staff chose as their headquarter an ancient cascina and farm situated in Gravellona Toce just in the middle between Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.
Side for being close to some of the most important venues on our lakes this special match between cuisine and nature make a guaranty of genuine products and gastronomic quality.

A vintage Fiat 500 was again one of the main character of a wedding on Lake Orta.
This is a special one…it has also a name Gigetta. Gigetta was the special surprise Natacha our bride wanted to give to Francesco just outside the church after the ceremony.

Natacha and Francesco reached Lake Orta from Switzerland.
They opted for a religious ceremony in the church of Maria Assunta in Orta village that was really moving. The reception party was held in Castello di Miasino on the hills above Lake Orta.

Have a look to Natacha’s bouquet.
This is an evergreen a round shaped one with all Vendela roses, classic but always wonderful!

We show you today the first pictures of the event taken by Piero Gatti the photographer that our bride and groom chose for their wedding.

We already introduced Piero Gatti who is specialized in weddings over Stresa and Baveno but sometimes he also like working on Lake Orta.
Piero Gatti was the the photographer of our first Just Married post in 2011: Cristina and Renzo’s wedding to Madonna del Sasso church.

We will come back again telling you about Natacha and Francesco’s wedding with many images of their wedding on Lake Orta but for now… all our best to the newly weds!

There is an Italian song called Cielo d’Irlanda (Irish Sky) by Italian singer Fiorella Mannoia. This is a real celebration to Irelend as Italians see it.
A wonderful green land where you can drawn in the blue (this is a verse of the song). This song is the perfect union between Ireland and Italy as Shauna and Marco wedding we would like to tell you about in our post today.
After Helen and Daehun’s wedding here is another very human and symbolic wedding on Lake Orta. Shauna is Irish and Marco is Italian. We love thinking that this wedding is a perfect union between two nation that has been always friends!
Both Ireland and Italy have this special human and natural feeling that goes beyond every difference.

A union begun centuries ago thanks to close relationship between Irish church an Vatican. You can see it with the Flight of the Earls back in 1608 one of the most famous event in Irish history.
We cannot forget about James Joyce who wrote in Italy many of his books. You can also see Italian classical tradition in rich Irish artistic patrimony.
These days Italy and Ireland are among the best supporters of European Union. From the touristy point of view Irish people love to come to Italy and Italians love travel to Ireland. Italy and Ireland are close also in soccer world, national soccer team’s coach is an Italian man: Giovanni Trapattoni.

For these and other reasons we love to think that Shauna and Marco’s wedding is another confirmation that Ireland and Italy are so close to each other. Continue Reading »

We introduced Villa Pestalozza on Lake Orta a couple of days ago.

Italian Lakes Wedding blog ended 2010 with a great post about Lina and Borja’s wedding Lake Maggiore’s Wedding of the Year.
We really wanted to begin this fabulous 2011 with another wonderful wedding that we all keep in our hearts. We are talking about Eve-Marie and Roland’s wedding on Lake Orta.
This time we want to tell you about that in a unique way: Eve-Marie and Roland’s wedding will be described directly by bride and groom!

Roland and I are both from Dublin. We met in college and had been great friends for almost a year before we starting going out and that was seven years ago now.
We had planned a big wedding in Ireland and were ready to start paying deposits when we realised that we didn’t want a big wedding with lots of people who we hadn’t met or who didn’t know us. We sat back and really thought about what we wanted and decided we’d love to have a relaxed wedding in Italy with those that matter most to us both. We focused on the northern lake region of Italy because it would have lovely weather in September when we wanted to get married and it was close to airports.
We started searching for planners online and Valentina kept coming up.
The Italian Lake Weddings site instilled us with confidence that these planners were the real deal, so we started emailing Valentina and arranged to come over and view some possible venues on the Italian Lakes.

Roland and I arrived in Orta the night before we were due to meet Valentina (and her colleague and husband Ernesto) and decided to go for a walk down the town. Within 5 minutes of walking through the cobbled village with the beautiful coloured buildings on either side and entering into the stunning piazza with it’s view of the lake and San Julius island, we had decided that Orta was the prettiest place we’d ever seen, that we wanted to share it with all our friends and family. We just had to get married there.

We decided to stay in the hotel San Rocco with our 45 guests. The hotel staff were so accommodating. As a special treat they gave Roland and I the suite in the Villa Gippini which really made the start of our wedding visit magical.
Our wedding was a 3 day affair and the Italian Lakes Wedding Planners helped us to organise all.
We had a Welcome Lunch for our 45 guests in Due Santi Restaurant in the centre of the piazza looking out over the lake. Later that day we took 2 boats across to the island for an amazing rehearsal dinner on the terrace at the Restaurant on St. Julius island, in the middle of the lake. The day after the wedding, we went for a leisurely pizza in La Campana Pizzeria, before we headed home.

As we promised, Alessandro Ambrosetti photographer put on disposal full Sandra and Mirko’s wedding PHOTO GALLERY, the wedding where I worked as floral designer. In today’s post I’m pleased to show you some of the photos I just love.

I start with this wonderful shot taken inside Castello di Miasino, the venue bride and groom choose for their reception. A perfect combination of elements: bright chandelier and the big coat of arms on the wall behind loving bride and groom. This is for sure a first prize photograph! Very good Alessandro Ambrosetti!

Sandra and Mirko are a young italian-german couple who choose Lake Orta as their wedding destination. Religious ceremony was held in Orta San Giulio village inside the lovely church of Maria Assunta. Bride opted for a classical floral arrangement choosing just a main flower: big Lilyum Longiflorum with simple Aspidistra leaves and Gypsophila.

Following bride’s wishes, I created for Sandra’s bouquet: a round and compact shape using Avalanche roses without any other greenery except for Gypsophila on the basis. Just a trendy style, what brides are looking for, now. Thanks to beautiful day, after the ceremony Sandra and Mirko took a walk in tiny Orta village roads and lakeshore, the perfect frame for magic wedding pictures.

Orange was the main color for the reception to Castello di Miasino. A solar and happy color, one of the most requested for summer 2009. I created glass cubes centerpieces with floating roses and gel crystals, adding some spread orange rose petals on the tables. Continue Reading »

Did you noticed that flowers are often the main characters of wedding photographs? After bride and groom of course!!
Very often photographers love choosing little details from bouquets or centerpieces. Every professional photographer has his/her personal style. As flower designer I love seeing my creations best Lake District photographer’s shoots. Skills of these professionals add new shades and different suggestions to my creations! Today I show you some beautiful Alessandro Ambrosetti’s pictures taken to Sandra and Mirko’s wedding to Castello di Miasino on Lake Orta last May.

In the first one you see one of my classical compositions, rose cube with crystal gel. Skilled usage of flash gave to my arrangement new life! It has a great impact thanks to to soft light photographer caught.

I think that lights photographer was able to create are absolutely great! Look at the picture taken in Sala del Bertelli of Castello di Miasino: bride and groom at the table with centerpiece I created and all around just a soft and smooth atmosphere.

Third example shows the table chart from a different side.
Photographer was very inspired and was able to catch the event from another point of view which is very different and unusual. Continue Reading »

Last week I mentioned about Ivonn and Giorgio’s wedding to Castello di Miasino on Lake Orta.
Today I would like to tell you more on this, thanks to Federico Fasano photographer’s images.
He kindly gave his images to let us enjoy the wedding atmosphere.
This lets you appreciate good and quick post production phase and the great skill to catch details such as my floral arrangements.
Federico Fasano‘s photos I show you today show some nice details of the work I did for Ivonn and Giorgio. First image is a wonderful detail of bridegroom’s table with some rose petals that created a big heart.

Again rose petals with many heart shaped confettis. Guest threw them as good luck wish to bride and groom after the ceremony. Confettis and petals were preserved in lovely cones realized with music sheets with a wax rose on.

Third photo on the left is one of my favorites. You can see groom’s button hole I created with Avalanche white rose on a leaf and a tulle ribbon. Forth picture on the right shows a view of Castle’s rooms with two arrangements I realized. They are laid on the iron columns that are at the base of the big staircase that leads to big window with mosaic glasses.

Last pictures is a wonderful detail of one of the centerpieces. For their realization I used big vases with little pink stones, Bear Grass and Avalanche white roses.

In order to see entire Ivonn and Giorgio’s photo set to Castello di Miasino please visit photographer Federico Fasano’s PHOTO GALLERY. These are just some first details! Continue Reading »

As floral designer last week end I took care of the two first weddings on Lake Orta.
First one was held in Castello di Miasino and the other was arranged at Villa Bossi. Both of them were with civil ceremonies.
While we are waiting for official images taken by Federico Fasano, to Castello di Miasino and Enzo Franza, to Villa Bossi, I would like to show you some first detail of my first two weddings of the year, today.

Ivonn and Giorgio’s wedding at Castello di Miasino had a pink and white color theme. I matched Avalanche and Plaza roses with white Dendrobium orchids. In order to enrich the floral arrangement on ceremony table, I plaited some Bear Grass leaves giving them a heart shape to recall love symbol.

As for centerpieces, I used high flute glasses filling them with pink little stones and Avalanche roses. All was emphasized by Bear Grass leaves that went up the composition: a simple and good rate solution that has great effect!

Roses are also Laura and Carlo’s wedding main theme to Villa Bossi, Orta San Giulio town hall, one of the most evocative venue in Italy to celebrate a civil ceremony on the open air.
Their color theme was white and orange. I used lovely white gerberas and roses together with long Lilies Longiflorum. The arrangement matched reception venue’s one too. Reception was held to San Rocco Hotel, one of the most exclusive venue of Lake Orta, recently charmingly renewed and reopened.

Laura’s bouquet was something really nice too! It was a round vintage bouquet colored by many pastel shades, that went from cream white to orange and ochre. All flowers were wrapped in the same fabric of bridal dress. Continue Reading »

It has just came to life Enrico Mocci’s new web site!
Enrico Mocci is one of the photographers of Italian Lakes Wedding Team. Starting from the name of the site www.ortaweddingphotographer.com you will understand Enrico’s goal: being specialized on wedding photography on Lake Orta, the place Enrico knows best. No doubt the mission was completely achieved thanks to his wonderful images and long experience he has. Enrico’s studio is right into Piazza Motta – Orta main square – in Orta San Giulio; his photographs are characterized by rich colors, skillful black and white tecnique, and vignetting technique that is just perfect to focalize the attention on a certain point of the image.
The new web site has an essential and clear style that wants to stress all the images inside its Wedding section which is divided in 4 parts showing different steps of the wedding day.

GETTING READY
This section describes the meaningful moments of the preparation before the wedding: dress, make up, guests arrival but most of all the excitement and happines of the bride and groom to be. Many of these images were taken in luxury rooms of Villa Crespi that Enrico loves.

CEREMONY
Guests are waiting, bride arrives, she steps into the church…after that the ceremony, signatures and newly weds exit. Each step of the ceremony is taken with privacy and attention. Many pictures were shot in Orta’s main churches: Maria Assunta and Sacro Monte.
Images of civil ceremonies were taken to Castello di Miasino and on the terraced garden of beautiful Villa Bossi, Orta San Giulio town hall, where bride usually arrive by boat.

PORTRAITS
In this section you will find pictures taken after the ceremony on the lakeshore on wonderful St. Julius Island. Many pictures are portraits but taken in a lovely natural style!

RECEPTION
This is the wider section that describes better bride and groom arrival to the venue, party with their guests, speeches, dances, bouquet throwing and wedding cake moment. The photographs were shot in the best venues on Lake Orta such as Villa Crespi and Hotel San Rocco.

Among the wedding venues of the Italian Lake District the Castello di Miasino (Miasino’s Castle) is one of the most well known and requested ones by Italian couples. Some of the reasons might be its panoramic position (with a view to one of the arms of lake Orta), its parking facilities for guests and the possibility to celebrate your wedding with a civil ceremony.
Being a highly attended venue I often happened to work there in my function as floral designer. Visiting my website www.lapiccolaselva.it you can easily find a whole section dedicated to my floral arrangements at Castello di Miasino with hundreds of photographs. My decor proposals are ranging from centre table ones to the big staircase leading to the upper apartments and finally to the hall where the wedding ceremonies are celebrated with civil rite. Please also have a look into the garden where my floral compositions might beautify your reception buffet , not forgetting the entrance area of the Castle with the statue of Santa Sofia. To her feet I would advise a creation consisting of flowers, ferns and rose petals.
I have recently updated my photo gallery of floral arrangements at the Castle of Miasino including a selection of the most beautiful ones from all the weddings I realized there during 2008. Please take a look and enjoy!
