Louise and Robert knew exactly what they wanted: to get married at Orta, a small and very pittoresque village at Lake Orta. Fascinating because of its beauty, its small streets with cafes and little shops, the religious island San Giulio right in front of the main square.

We arranged the civil wedding at the historique townhall called Villa Bossi. The civil wedding takes place outside in the beautiful garden. With the sun shining so nicely, a blue sky, we all waited for the arrival of the beautiful bride Louise. She came with her father in a rowing boat and was welcomed by her 2 bridesmaids before she walked down the natural path which suited as an aisle like in a church.
Happily both said yes in the right moment, our interpreter Irmi was much more in tears then bride and groom! Continue Reading »

Do you remember about Cassy and Gary’s wedding a couple of years ago?
They fell in love both with Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore and could not decide what to choose for their wedding. They ended with choosing both of them!
This is what happened to Lucy and Mike!

When they came over for their visit to choose the right venue for their wedding Lucy fell in love with the wonderful spot of Villa Bossi in Orta, an ideal venue for an outdoor civil ceremony.
For their reception Lucy and Mike wanted something different and for this reason they opted for Lake Maggiore and its wonderful clear waters.

Let’s start from the beginning!
Lucy and Mike’s guests were not many they decided to stay in Stresa the gem of Lake Maggiore overlooking Borromeo Islands.
It is just there where Lucy got ready.
At the right time all were ready to reach Lake Orta for a wonderful ceremony at Villa Bossi.
Lucy arrived a little later to get on the boat and reach Mike and guests waiting for her.

Today I would love to tell you about a very sweet and your couple coming from UK.
Hannah and James got married on late September 2010 on wonderful Lake Orta.
The day was blessed by a warm sun that brought a lot of joy to the event.

We can say that Hannah and James were surely the youngest couple we planned the wedding for in 2010 and we really want to wish them all the best for their life together!

Hannah and James decided for Orta without seeing it before. They thought once arrived here the lovely medieval village could be a sweet surprise for their guests and for them too.
And it was! The warm temperature of September welcomed the small group. Bride and groom decided for an intimate wedding on the shores of the lake.

Hannah’s tastes were on purple, lilac and white and she opted for a very elegant bouquet matching bridesmaid dress.
She decided to get ready in the amazing rooms of the Moorish Villa, one of the most luxurious venues in Orta San Giulio.

Hairdresser reached her here and she had all the time to get ready before reaching Orta main square to get on a rowing boat to reach James waiting for her to the town hall.

This time it was the bridesmaid to walk on the aisle with the bride. Have a look to the colors on the warm sun of September aren’t the two girls just stunning? Continue Reading »

Laura and Lionel got married last Saturday in Pallanza.
Here we are telling you about their unforgettable wedding on Lake Maggiore!

We are not often able to tell you about a wedding with all set of beautiful pictures few days after the event. We usually post a Just Married post following a real post telling about the full event.
This time we wanted to do something different, thanks to the great job of Enrico Mocci by ArteFotoArona that in only few days was able to give us the entire photo set.
In this post we selected for you the most beautiful shots.
Candid images full of emotions as always in Enrico Mocci works (like famous Daniel and Tessa Miss Holland for Miss Universe reportage).

Laura and Lionel chose Lake Maggiore for their wedding in Italy. They opted for lake shores in Pallanza.
The catholic ceremony was held in Church of San Leonardo and the reception to follow in elegant Grand Hotel Majestic.

Laura and Lionel come from Luxembourg, they are in love, sweet and very friendly. It was a pleasure working with them!

As floral designer, I’ve been contacted by Lionel more than one year ago.
Since the very beginning bride and groom had very clear ideas on their wedding.
They opted for white as main color for floral decorations and wonderful Avalanche Roses acting as main characters!

Laura and Lionel’s Big Day was on 20th of August.
With the bride and groom there were three sweet flower girls….have a look at them…aren’t they lovely?
Their little bouquets matched perfectly bride’s one with but with some little leaves of Cineraria Marittima in light gray to match their dresses too. Continue Reading »

A very important news! Only a month ago a brand new venue opened on Lake Orta and we think it is going to be a great success!

It is name is Orta Beach Club.
If you are looking for a different young, informal but elegant venue, this is the right place!

Why choosing Orta Beach Club for your wedding?
First of all for its great position just on the shores facing romantic Bagnera Gulf.
Thanks to its special position Orta Beach Club is the only place where you can admire a magic sunset on the lake.

Orta Beach Club is a real alternative to other wedding venues.
The arabian and marine atmosphere, ethnic furniture recalling Morocco and Indonesia.

Restaurant is another main feather of Orta Beach Club.
Cuisine is really innovative: traditional and innovative at the same time with some multiethnic and fusion elements without forgetting about classical Italian cuisine. Continue Reading »

This is what happened on Lake Orta this afternoon in occasion of Charlotte and Steven.

From a floral point of view amazing Phalaenopsis orchids have been the main character of the event, one of the most beautiful on Lake Orta we had this year.

Here you can see some of the images that Enrico Mocci gave us, thanks to his hard and quick work.
Stay tuned because in the next days we will be able to show you all best shots of Charlotte and Steven’s wedding with many details of their unforgettable wedding!

Today we would love to speak about a wonderful couple coming from US. Donna and Mark.
They decided for an intimate elope on Lake Orta to take place in May 2011 and contacted us to plan all.

From the very first email I appreciate how sweet and kind Donna was.
Mark and her had in mind a wonderful idea…. getting married outside on a rock overlooking a wonderful undiscovered spot of Italy.
Suggestion that came to my mind immediately was: Madonna del Sasso view!

So we decided to arrange all around this.
Donna and Mark arrived in Italy reaching Venice as first destination.
Then they traveled across Lake District, Lake Garda, Lake Como and they finally reached lovely Lake Orta the location they chose for their wedding.
On the day of the wedding the a warm sun of May blessed the day and all was ready for the intimate ceremony on Madonna del Sasso rock.

Mark left the hotel before Donna to reach the breathtaking rock of Madonna del Sasso while Donna was still getting ready and have some pictures with her wonderful bouquet created by Monika and Paola from La Piccola Selva.
Wonderful roses, peonies and a touch of blue… scented lavender!

Donna was one of the sweetest bride I ever had but she is a very sporty and firm woman! She is a sport racing driver!
She loves cars and bikes and she wanted a wonderful Italian car to take her to her wedding ceremony. Something vintage… Italian …a wonderful 50s Lancia Appia.

After a pleasant drive through the nature Donna reached Madonna del Sasso Rock. She was wordless….the view was stunning and Mark was waiting for her in the peace of this enchanting place.

Our professional celebrant Giuseppe was waiting for her with Mark just on the edge of the rock to perform a moving and intense ceremony overlooking a magnificent view.
This was exactly what Donna and Mark dreamt for their wedding: a wedding in the nature overlooking a unique and natural show. Continue Reading »

There is an Italian song called Cielo d’Irlanda (Irish Sky) by Italian singer Fiorella Mannoia. This is a real celebration to Irelend as Italians see it.
A wonderful green land where you can drawn in the blue (this is a verse of the song). This song is the perfect union between Ireland and Italy as Shauna and Marco wedding we would like to tell you about in our post today.
After Helen and Daehun’s wedding here is another very human and symbolic wedding on Lake Orta. Shauna is Irish and Marco is Italian. We love thinking that this wedding is a perfect union between two nation that has been always friends!
Both Ireland and Italy have this special human and natural feeling that goes beyond every difference.

A union begun centuries ago thanks to close relationship between Irish church an Vatican. You can see it with the Flight of the Earls back in 1608 one of the most famous event in Irish history.
We cannot forget about James Joyce who wrote in Italy many of his books. You can also see Italian classical tradition in rich Irish artistic patrimony.
These days Italy and Ireland are among the best supporters of European Union. From the touristy point of view Irish people love to come to Italy and Italians love travel to Ireland. Italy and Ireland are close also in soccer world, national soccer team’s coach is an Italian man: Giovanni Trapattoni.

For these and other reasons we love to think that Shauna and Marco’s wedding is another confirmation that Ireland and Italy are so close to each other. Continue Reading »

Who said that choosing the same venue means you are copying someone else’s wedding? That is not true!
This time we would love to speak about this: two weddings similar in venues chosen but surely very different from each other!
Soo and Jason and Lisa and Emmet got all married in Orta this Summer. The two couple both chose the same venues but they meant their wedding parties in two very different ways.
Click here to SOO and JASON & LISA and EMMET’s PHOTO-GALLERY

They both had a lovely religious ceremony to Assunta Church in Orta and then a charming reception to San Rocco Hotel. Continue Reading »

Some days ago Alessandra told you about Julia and Angus’ wedding on Lake Como.
For the ones who did not have a look to their lovely photogallery just give a glance of wonderful pictures taken by Mauro Pozzer.
Julia and Angus opted for red and blue color scheme with a touch of cream.
It is really funny as the same scheme – red blue and cream – was taken by another English couple Richard and Victoria who got married on Lake Orta.

Our readers surely remember that we spoke about this wedding in our Just Married section. We promised a longer post and here we are.
We come back to you speaking about Victoria and Richar’s wedding thanks to Enrico Mocci, the photographer bride and groom chose for their day.
Enrico Mocci gave us in short time the full service of the event. So I selected some lovely images but do not forget to see the entire PHOTO GALLERY. You will find 32 great shots describing this special day.

Victoria and Richard are a lovely couple came from UK and as often all decorations were decided via email. I had the pleasure to meet Victoria only few days before the wedding. She is a lovely and pretty girl.

Since the very first emails Victoria knew what she wanted: roses in two color with a predominance of red.

Red, color of passion and love was the main theme of all floral arrangements I created for Victoria and Richard. Red was in bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquet, groom’s tie and buttonholes and of course in the decorations of the ceremony. Continue Reading »

This afternoon was Hannah and James‘ turn a nice British couple who chose magic atmospheres of Lake Orta for their wedding.

Lilac was theme color of the event. It was used for Hannah’s bouquet, Villa Bossi and Restaurant on St Julius Island floral arrangement and even for James’ tie.

White bride and Caribbean bridesmaid wearing dark purple was just a perfect match!

As special thank to Enrico Mocci photographer from ArteFotoArona who gave us very first images of this lovely event in no time!

Today Italy and Ireland got together on Lake Orta! Shauna is Irish and Marco is Italian. In the first hours of today afternoon Shauna and Marco got married in the wonderful church of Maria Assunta in the historical center of Orta San Giulio.

Bride arrived on a wonderful vintage Fiat 500.
To symbolize a union between Italy and Ireland the car was decorated with some ribbons: green, white and orange (to recall Ireland) and green white and red (to recall Italy).

Have a look to bridal bouquet created with big lilac and cream roses blossoms matching perfectly Shauna’s bridesmaid dress.

These are just few images of Shauna and Marco’s wedding that Enrico Mocci from ArteFoto Arona gave us. Thanks again for his quickness and great editing!
We will come again soon talking about some details of this new wonderful wedding on Lake Orta!
