As floral designer I met Siobhan and Stuart through Valentina, our wedding coordinator specialized on weddings on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.
I leave to her introducion this lovely couple:

Shiobhan and Stuart are a nice couple coming from Scotland.
I never met them before they came here for their wedding. We planned all details via email and our collaboration started more than one year ago!
Sibhoan is a wonderful and sweet person. She faced every step of the planning with a deep joy and enthusiasm and it was a pleasure and honor for me helping her and her groom to make their dream come true.

They decided for an intimate wedding on Lake Orta because they wanted to share the perfect atmosphere of this quaint corner of Italy only with their close friends and family. They spent some days in Orta taking also the occasion to enjoy the lake in a special period of the year: Early Spring.
This moment is special here, flowers and plans and blooming and the tourists are still few.
A perfect choice!

From the floral point of view Siobhan and Stuart’s wedding was really unusual, they chose a theme based on pink and yellow.

For the bride and grooms who wish to celebrate their wedding outdoors in a garden or by the lake shores a colorful palette of pink and yellow could be a trendy solution! It can be dynamic and out of classical choices making the atmosphere warmer colorful and charming!

Yellow is a joyful, energic color which brings optimims light and transparency.
On the other side Pink is very feminine and fine, it recalls elegance, class, refinement, sensuality and seduction.
The final effect is absolutely gorgeous and unique just as for Siobhan and Stuart’s wedding.

Every floral arrangement Siobhan and Stuart chose recalled pink and yellow. Villa Bossi columns arrangements, flowers on the table of ceremony, petals on the aisle and centerpieces for reception to Hotel San Rocco.

In order to create this lovely scheme we opted for Aqua roses in a deep pink shade and some yellow gerberas with a delicate touch of Alchemilla.

To match light yellow bridesmaid dress we opted for little bouquet of Aqua roses that in its semplicity gave a natural and smooth appeal to all.

Have a look to Siobhan’s arm sheaf bouquet. We realized it in the same shades of the entire event!
The arm sheaf bouquet is more or less like a bunch of flowers created to be carried on an arm, just like a baby.

Let’s not forget about the Royal table arrangement in Rotary room of San Rocco Hotel.
We realized it with little candles, roses and floral arrangements in different shapes and dimensions to give a dynamic and joyful aspect just like Siobhan and Stuart wanted.

If you would like to give a special and different touch to your wedding being far from usual schemes then a pink and yellow themed floral arrangement could be a great idea!
The colors need to be matched with taste and elegance to create smooth and charming arrangements!

Nicole is Australian and Euan is from Scotland. It is just for Euan’s home country that the couple decided for a blue and white schemed wedding.

Blue and white recalls the legendary St. Andrew’s Cross national flag of Scotland. This is one of the most ancient flags in the world dated back to 800 a.c. Flag is made of a diagonal cross representing St. Andrew Martyrdom’s cross on a blue background. St. Andrew is the patron saint of all Scotland. Blue and White are in all national sports wears of Scotland starting from national soccer team.

In Nicole and Euan’s wedding blue and white were just everywhere: in floral arrangements, on flower girl’s dresses and in Nicole’s bridal bouquet. This was a special cascade bouquet that Monika – La Piccola Selva Floral designer – created with white roses and blue gentianas.

The event was coordinated and planned by our wedding planner Valentina Lombardi who works on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Valentina will tell us more about this event.

A very special interesting and sweet couple!
Euan is Scottish and beautiful Nicole is Austalian they both live and work in Dubai. For their special day they opted for Italy because they simply love the food the rustic and quaint atmosphere and also because Euan worked here for about one year.
Nicole also wanted a wedding by the waters of the sea or the lake. Putting all these elements together we thought that Orta could be perfect, so intimate, medieval, romantic and just on the lake shores!

Nicole for her wedding wanted something classical and chic with a timeless elegance theme just like Grace Kelly times. Orta architecture touched their hearts with its facades, narrow roads, pastel colors of houses and little details like the iron gate of the town hall and coat of arms.

When Nicole and Euan looked at Black and White Orta article with Alfonso Longobardi’s photos the finally decided that Orta was more than perfect and Alfonso was going to be the one taking care about their wedding pictures!

As usual civil ceremony was held in the garden of Villa Bossi. Groom and groomsmen wore their traditional kilt, white and blue were everywhere for a day Lake Orta become a little strip of Scottish Highlands!

Have a look to wonderful white little dress of the flowergirls with a blue belt and ribbon on their waist.

After the ceremony bride and groom had a lovely boat tour with a motorboat reaching St. Julius Island. Alfonso Longobardi took a lot of portraits. Great shots from the very famous photographer coming from Naples.

The reception has been set in the garden of Villa Crespi with famous Lake Orta Moorish Villa on the background. Frescoes and decorations and the high minaret are the perfect setting for an elegant reception like Nicole really wanted.
Villa Crespi is also well known for its 2 Michelin Stars restaurant a dinner you cannot forget!

BEFORE…
Thinking about the location, finding it, the church, the restaurant.
They travelled across many little villages but non of them was exactly what they had in mind.

THE EPIPHANY…
On a Sunday of the beginning of April Cinzia and Giovanni (Ci and Gio) reached Orta San Giulio village….just a sight….the place they were looking for! The one of the dream, a tiny cosy village. Just amazing! And what about St. Julius Island with its legends, monastery?… This is only the beginning…

THEN…
How to arrange it all living at more than 100 km far from home?
How could they find the church, the restaurant, the priest, the best florist and photographer? Now the dream need to come true!

INTERNET…
Italian Lakes Wedding is site where you can find a lot of wedding planning information it is only a web site. This is not true and it is just here were we found our guardian angels. They are professional, discrete and most of all new Ci and Gio’s friends.

THE CHURCH…
Ci and Gio really wanted a Romanic church without many frescoes on the ceiling.
And here the wedding planners‘ answer comes: Santa Maria of Luzzara church no more than 10 minutes drive from Orta village.
Just perfect! A Romanic church on a lower level in respect to the main road right in the green. A little and single nave with some frescoes inside and outside. This is Ci and Gio’s church!

WAITING…
Gio and three of his friends leave home some days before, reaching Orta and waiting for Ci and all the other guests.
Gio spent some lovely days in Orta waiting for his wife to be to come! How exciting!
Ci leaves on Saturday morning. She can’t wait to be in Orta. After three years living together staying far from the person she loves makes her missing him a lot!
After months checking weather forecasts Ci and Gio really hope for a lovely sunny day… but they are sure that someone is looking at him from the above.

4 SEPTEMBER 2010: THE DAY…
The day has come, sunny, beautiful!
The church was just amazing with all floral decorations Ci and Gio planned.
There were lovely green buxus and white roses everywhere.
Sound of violins in the background created a bucolic atmosphere.
What a surprise! Ci arrives from the top of the hill with her dad holding her tight!
After giving her away the ceremony starts with Don Alberto conducting it.
The ceremony was nice, fresh. Everybody liked it, even for the ones who do not come often to the church!
And Ci and Gio are now married!

Some pictures in wonderful village of Orta and then a surprise for all 24 guests: a boat tour on the lake sipping Prosecco and looking at a wonderful sunset on the shores. Ci and Gio are seated at the back of the boat enjoying such an amazing day!

For Ci and Gio is like being is a movie or in a Renoir’s painting in a timeless location with all the people they love around them. It is a perfect day!
After the boat tour on the lake another surprise for all! Ci and Gio and their guests reached St. Julius Island. It is named the Island of Silence and it is such a mystic place with its narrow road, a single little show, big convent and church and most of all a rustic traditional restaurant.
And here another surprise for all! Ci and Gio told everyone that this stop was just for a little aperitif but after going down on the terrace…. wow!

An evocative atmosphere created by floral designers of La Piccola Selva. A royal table decorated with red roses petals, arrangements with floating candles and some lanterns hanged on the ceiling. The lake as background, the fresh scent of flowers, the little details on the table and the music of the violins….

Now we wake up from our dream and we speak in first person!
The best comment we got was from one of our guests few days after the wedding describing the day: “You cannot tell it… you had to live it!”
This is exactly what we thought. We did not want being to grand easy to get and to describe. We just wanted to have for our wedding some moments of pure happiness with simple elegance. That fine, romantic and bright day will be timeless for us and our relatives and friends, always living in our minds, eyes, ears and hears.

This time we want to tell you about that in a unique way: Eve-Marie and Roland’s wedding will be described directly by bride and groom!

Roland and I are both from Dublin. We met in college and had been great friends for almost a year before we starting going out and that was seven years ago now.
We had planned a big wedding in Ireland and were ready to start paying deposits when we realised that we didn’t want a big wedding with lots of people who we hadn’t met or who didn’t know us. We sat back and really thought about what we wanted and decided we’d love to have a relaxed wedding in Italy with those that matter most to us both. We focused on the northern lake region of Italy because it would have lovely weather in September when we wanted to get married and it was close to airports.
We started searching for planners online and Valentina kept coming up.
The Italian Lake Weddings site instilled us with confidence that these planners were the real deal, so we started emailing Valentina and arranged to come over and view some possible venues on the Italian Lakes.

Roland and I arrived in Orta the night before we were due to meet Valentina (and her colleague and husband Ernesto) and decided to go for a walk down the town. Within 5 minutes of walking through the cobbled village with the beautiful coloured buildings on either side and entering into the stunning piazza with it’s view of the lake and San Julius island, we had decided that Orta was the prettiest place we’d ever seen, that we wanted to share it with all our friends and family. We just had to get married there.

We decided to stay in the hotel San Rocco with our 45 guests. The hotel staff were so accommodating. As a special treat they gave Roland and I the suite in the Villa Gippini which really made the start of our wedding visit magical.

Our wedding was a 3 day affair and the Italian Lakes Wedding Planners helped us to organise all.
We had a Welcome Lunch for our 45 guests in Due Santi Restaurant in the centre of the piazza looking out over the lake. Later that day we took 2 boats across to the island for an amazing rehearsal dinner on the terrace at the Restaurant on St. Julius island, in the middle of the lake. The day after the wedding, we went for a leisurely pizza in La Campana Pizzeria, before we headed home.

We had quite a large bridal party, with four bridesmaids and both of our mothers. Our dresses were all made by a truly gifted woman name Gay DePaor in Ireland who worked so hard on the seven dresses and gave us exactly what we asked for.
My duchess Satin and Chantilly lace dress was perfect to match the 1950s Hollywood style I wanted and she was able to make each of the bridesmaids a different designed dress which allowed the four of them match, but also to show their own personal style.
On the wedding day the make-up artists at the San Rocco wellness center took exceptional care of the seven of us and our local Italian hairdresser Cristina worked wonders with her assistant so that we were all ready to go by 2pm.

There are so many beautiful churches in Orta and Valentina brought us to visit them all, but when we saw the breathtaking view from the Sacro Monte church we were totally smitten. Our guests are still raving about it and it was a lovely way to take out first steps of married life out into that wonderful vista.

The guests and most of the bridal party made their way up to the stunning Sacro Monte church on the fun tourist train that drives around Orta. This was a great treat for our guests.
My father and I followed in a beautiful vintage Bentley car that really felt in-keeping with our 1950’s Hollywood glamour style.

The very talented floral designer Paola from La Piccola Selva arranged our flowers and decorations and all our guest commented on what a superb job she did. I hadn’t been sure what flowers I wanted and she helped me to decide by showing me many of the wonderful weddings she had done previously.
I loved my bouquet which was made of blue hydrangeas and cream roses and the table settings later at the reception were superb. I must admit my favorite part were the heart shaped bushes outside of the church, I just adored these.

The wedding ceremony itself was magical. We had brought our own priest from Ireland who was a close family friend and the string trio we had really added to the atmosphere with their beautiful music. I had been quite concerned about the music in the church because all I had heard was a few songs they had preformed, but they truly were exceptional, providing not only the few songs I had asked for, but also filling in with music wherever it suited the ceremony. They then followed us outside and played to our guests as we congregated around the church and took some photographs.

The photographers from Silver Stars Photo were exceptional. Roberto and assistant Alice were so patient and took so many photos but at no point were they in any way intrusive. They worked wonderfully with the videographer Vera. We haven’t seen photos yet, but I’m sure they’ll be wonderful.

We went through a number of venue choices and Valentina (and her husband Ernesto who takes care about booking and logistics) was very supportive before we finally decided on having the ceremony in the Castello and we certainly made the right decision. The Castello is a beautiful venue with an old world charm. The stairs and stain-glassed window provide a lovely backdrop for photos, as do the pool and the amazing terrace. It was also lovely to feel that it was ours for the day.

We had lovely aperitifs under the trees in the grounds, sitting and relaxing with our guests, while the Hot Club Trio serenaded us. It was so nice to be able to relax with our guests and leave all the organizing to the planners now that the excitement of the wedding ceremony was behind us.

The food throughout the wedding day was provided by Delicatezze a Casa Vostra Catering Service and was truly marvelous. We had an amazing variety of hor d’ourves when we arrived at the Castello, followed by a scrumptious Wedding dinner. Then there was a delectable dessert buffet, followed by cake and cheese. The food really was top class and our guests are still talking about it.

Valentina went to a lot of trouble to add some personal touches to our wedding day. They set up a beautiful heart made of candles on the lawn in front of the terrace and we had an amazing escort card tree with crystals and ribbons that I was really excited about. The biggest surprise of all was the incredible cake, which was a total surprise and tasted as great as it looked.

After we had danced and ate and drank our fill, we all went out to the terrace and set off 25 paper lanterns into the night sky with our guests.

This felt like the perfect end to a perfect day!

Lina is a young girl of Chinese origin but 100% Italian. Born and raised in Verbania, she has travelled extensively including Japan, China and The United States before choosing to live with Borja in Spain. What struck me most about Lina was her great enthusiasm and profound affection for her home town and the surrounding area of Lago Maggiore. This played a huge part in her decision to select Verbania as the destination of her wedding day, also because it was an opportuntity to share her love of the area with guests, in order that they too could experience the pleasure of discovering the extraordinary beauty of this area.
Her emotional attachment transformed Lina into a kind of honourary Ambassador for Lake Maggiore, at least for a day!

Lina and Borja’s wedding was indeed a fantastic blend of different cultures and traditions: more than 200 guests coming especially from all over the world attended, notably those from Spain, America, Japan, Italy and China (some of whom are also residents of Italy).

We felt extremely fortunate about how things turned out and had decided that it would be wonderful to marry in my home town, especially because we will spend most of our time in Madrid.
For me Verbania is the place in which I was born as well as a beautiful location. I feel so proud to have been able to share this wonderful place with others who have never visited and perhaps didn’t even know about its existence. All of our friends from elsewhere were very impressed by what they saw and by all the close attention to detail.

Great attention to detail was definitely a main feature of Lina and Borja’s wedding. Nothing was left to chance… from the wedding decorations for the ceremony and dinner, the video set up complete with steady cam and crane, to the flower arrangements, music and above all… the bride’s especially designed wedding dress and groom’s unique apparel.

My wedding dress was designed by Rosario Diaz, a stylist from Madrid. Rosario Diaz is an expert in designing and creating individual wedding dresses. We chose Rosario because he exclusively designed a wedding dress for Borja’s sister.
The hunt for my own dress started with other ateliers but none of them convinced me completely. Rosario showed us various kinds of fabric that had just arrived and I completely fell in love with material with a floral motif and ‘shredded’ effect made by laser that became the base of the gown.
The rest of the detail was added a step at a time and after several stages of experiment. The finishing touches were the ‘pettinino’ and fan effect, reminiscent of the Spanish tradition. The sleeves were decorated with tiny pearls, stones and ‘plisse tulle’.
The idea was to add a touch of colour to the sleeves and bearing in mind that the belt was grey we decided that this was the best option.

An unusual and original feature of Borja’s West was a waist coat with a floral design:

Borja’s west was tailored using a curtain fabric that we loved. We wanted something special for him, considering that men don’t have a vast choice regarding wedding suits. We discovered a very skilful tailor with experience in working with rich cotton and who was able to create a lovely west with such a dense fabric.

The process of planning the wedding began a year in advance and was closely followed by Valentina Lombardi, who is a specialist in arranging weddings in Lake Maggiore.

The very first contact with Lina was by email via our web site. Lina had very clear ideas and wanted to arrange her wedding at Villa Rusconi Clerici. We decided to meet in Verbania to start the full planning procedure.

At that time I had also had the pleasure of meeting Lina and Borja’s families and practicing a little Spanish too! After the visit to the villa all the main features and details were mainly organized via email together with a couple of further face to face meetings.

Lina was such a sweet bride and paid close attention to each detail. She had in mind a romantic wedding based on the shades of pastel pink and green to match the fairy tale landscape of Lake Maggiore. And to our immense mutual satisfaction, together we did it!

The Floral arrangements were taken care of by Monika and Paola, floral designers of La Piccola Selva.

After a couple of emails I met Lina personally a few months before her wedding day. She explained how she imagined her wedding and the flowers. I perfectly understood Lina’s ideas. As floral designer I loved working with her and I was really proud of the work we achieved for Lina and Borja’s wedding.

For the ceremony we embellished the villa gazebo with pink organza, lavender, white lysianthus and pink gypsophila.
The idea was to make the gazebo pretty end elegant, with a flowing decoration of flowers that were in harmony with the enviroment.

Lina’s bouquet was really special! Monika created it with Cymbidium orchids, Alchemilla, white Lysianthus and Dolce Vita roses. Little pearls kept together by a thin silver wire adorned the bouquet giving to it a very elegant final touch.
Monika created a real masterpiece to match Lina’s wedding dress and Borja’s floral patterned west.
Paola – floral designer

Their Symbolic blessing by the shores of Lake Maggiore was conducted by Diane and Giuseppe in an almost surreal and magical manner thanks to some unusual weather conditions. A storm threatened to break out over the Lake but thankfully changed course.
In fact the dark clouds pierced with rays of brilliant sunshine together with a light breeze on the lake contributed to a unique and unforgettable atmosphere.

But let’s read what Diane has to say about it:

One of the most satisfying aspects of our role as Celebrants is the marrying (literally!) of cultures, nationalities, traditions and of course languages. Lina and Borja’s cermony afforded us the opportunity to construct a script reflecting their many diverse cultural influences. We were immediately struck by the intensity of their relationship and their youthful energy.
The wedding party was an eclectic mix, including over two hundred guests who had travelled to partake in a multi cultural blessing, celebrated mainly in Italian but also including sentiments and readings expressed in English, Spanish, Chinese and French!

The bride and groom were evidently moved by the powerfully emotional speeches performed by friends from all over the world. It was inspiring to witness two people so young and incredibly in love, clearly relishing every word and cherishing such a unique moment in their lives.
Diane – celebrant

Following the ceremony the aperitif was served on the extensive lawns of Villa Rusconi while classical portraits of family members and friends were taken. The Photography service was expertly conducted by Fabio for Ajn – Luca Rajna Progetti Fotografici. It was a wonderful service with great post production.

Lina and Borja’s wedding was indeed a great event! It was elegant but the bride and groom were also relaxed and friendly with everyone.
There were many different situations and cultures to be photographed, (not to mention the beauty of Lake Maggiore!).
The fabulous climate and perfect organization made the event a wonderful party. Taking pictures for me was an easy and pleasurable task and it was a great professional opportunity!

The wedding video was realized by the very skillful Riccardo Lavezzo, a young but extremely imaginative and professional videographer from the Piemonte region.

Speaking as cameraman for Lina and Borja’s wedding I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for appreciating our style and for trusting in our ability. We felt free to capture and use images as we perceived them on the day. Having been allowed a free hand on the shooting meant that we were able to work with minimum stress and utilise technology and work creativity with energy and enthusiasm.

Villa Rusconi and Lake Maggiore offered a very natural landscape and scenography. Realizing a memory for the bride and groom offered me the possibility to experience and work more efficiently, paying greater attention without the risk of missing those important moments. Every emotion for me was amplified and more vivid.

It was wonderful to see how love can overcome distance, cultural difference and how destiny can change the lives of two people such as Lina and Borja… and all due to a chance meeting, which sometimes happens for the benefit of all those involved!

The whole event, from the ceremony to the party was accompanied by Desafinado Music Planner and by the fantastic voice of singer Camilla Pagani.

Lina and Borja’s wedding was amazing! Great people and a great location, I do love Villa Rusconi!

Unfortunately It was a cloudy day and as soon as I arrived I was terribly worried about the weather, can you just imagine a rainy day with our instruments and all the electric stuff we had?!?!? We finally made it! The ceremony was marvellous with the 3 of us only: guitar, saxophone and voice, We welcomed them with “Gabriel’s Oboe” a Morricone masterpiece. Then we had a great time during the aperitif, the male voice, doublebass and drum players joined us and we played some smooth an elegant jazz music and bossanova.
Lina and Borja appreciated our Sextet very much indeed! Our DJ arrived after they’d had their wonderful wedding cake and they all went on dancing all night long and really had great fun.

I’m so happy I had the chance to meet Lina and Borja and to perform at their wedding.

At sunset the dinner was served in the wonderful pavillion of Villa Rusconi… a dinner that soon become a great party!

For the evening we decided together with Lina and Borja to create an unforgetable atmosphere! The villa was completely illuminated by a designer who created a unique setting for the evening. Lina and Borja selected a gourmet Menu and fine Wines. But the fun part was the party itself! In spite of being a very big party with more than 200 people the couple experienced an intimate atmosphere filled with a special kind of love.

During the dinner the guests were deeply captivated by the singing of Cantico del Camarero – a typical Spanish song which was amusing and added to the sense of levity. After dinner Lina and Borja expressed a desire not only to dance in the villa’s cellar but also to continue the festivities at a nearby disco in order to continue the party!

The most beautiful part of the day? The weather! We couldn’t have asked for anything more! Joking apart…
I love recalling our friends speeches during the ceremony and dinner. Everybody was so happy, having fun and chatting to one other! They were singing Camarero from one table to the other. It seemed to me as if we were all eating together at one large table! We were incredibly lucky with everything: the flowers, dress, weather (not too hot or cold) and everything!
I could not have really asked for more!

Just like Bronwen and Josh, Rebecca and Marcus are coming from Australia too.
They always had a deep love for Italy and they choose it for their wedding!
First they opted for Rome but then Rebecca found out intimate atmosphere of Lake Orta and that was their final choice!

It was romantic but also fun and you can really feel it from great pictures taken by Maren Ollmann and Piero Ottaviano who perfectly took the spirit of the event!

From a photographic point of view a wedding for two could be difficult. The only characters are bride and groom and nobody else. There is no reception, emotion of the guests, flower girls, bridesmaids and their wonderful dresses and all the typical atmosphere of a wedding.
In spite of that Maren and Piero are able to do a lively photo service where you can see emotion and lot of joy. This is not common at all!

Maren Ollman is not new to these kind of services for this reason we recall Mariana and Matteo’s wedding Get married… and have a good time on Lake Orta. Maren Ollman was awarded with the prize Shot of the Year 2009 organized by Italian Lakes Wedding for one of those pictures.

That picture winner of Italian Lakes Wedding Shot of the Year 2009 was the key point for Rebecca and Marcus photographer choice.
After seeing such a great service they really wanted Maren Ollman for their wedding!

Rebecca and Marcus had a lot of romanticism and intimacy but took the occasion to taste wonderful cuisine!
Antonino Canavacciuolo is a 2 Michelin stars chef based in Villa Crespi just on Lake Orta and it was a very good reason to come over here from Australia!

Antonino Canavacciuolo comes from Naples and he is considered one of best Italian chefs.
His cuisine is a prefect mix between South traditional food and Piemonte region cuisine adding also a touch of contemporaneity.
This is the reason of the 2 Michelin stars award.

After a lovely civil ceremony in Villa Bossi and a lot of great shots in the ancient village of Orta, Marcus and Rebecca had an amazing candle lit dinner in one of the enchanting rooms of Moorish style hotel and restaurant Villa Crespi.
For this special occasion bride and groom tasted the famous menu Fuori Pista by Antonino Canavacciuolo. It is a 10 courses dinner created at the moment by the chef. All it is based on the inspiration he has at the moment.

A wonderful event for Marcus and Rebecca for a romantic, intimate and fun wedding on Lake Orta.
The event was arranged by Valentina Lombardi our planner on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore and bridal bouquet was realized by Monika Andenmatten one of La Piccola Selva floral designer.

What happens when you fall in love with the romantic atmosphere of Lake Orta and breathtaking panoramas of Lake Maggiore? You choose both! Just like Cassy and Gary did.

Cassy and Gary opted to have their civil ceremony to Villa Bossi on Lake Orta and their reception to Villa Rusconi on Lake Maggiore. The two most beautiful lakes of Piemonte region together for a wonderful event!

Cassy ang Gary came from United Kingdom with their relatives and friends and decided to have their accommodation in Orta San Giulio.

Before the ceremony all guests met Gary in Orta main square for wonderful pictures with
St. Julius island in the background and some drinks. Then all of them walked to closer town hall.

As soon as main square was empty Cassy arrived by foot with her dad and 4 pretty and blond green-dressed bridesmaids.

Acid green was Cassy and Gary’s theme color together with white. A very trendy and elegant color scheme. Cassy wanted them for all little details of her wedding: bridesmaids’ dresses, best man and ushers’ ties, and of course flower arrangements made by Monika, La Piccola Selva floral designer.
Monika paid her lovely attention preparing Cassy’s bouquet relized with Super Green roses, white Phalaenopsis orchids, green hydrangeas and Pittosporum greenery.

From Orta main square Cassy, her father and bridesmaids get on board of rowing boats to reach the town hall where relatives and friends and most of all Gary in his elegant light grey tight suit, were all waiting for them.

After civil ceremony, they had lovely wedding group pictures and a romantic trip to St. Julius Island for some other unforgettable photos. A coach was waiting for guests and a private care was waiting for Cassy and Gary to move all the party on Lake Maggiore, Villa Rusconi Clerici was their destination.

The weather was wonderful and gave the occasion to the group to have a rich aperitif in the garden of the villa just on the shores. A delicious dinner to follow in the wide pavilion arranged with white tables and chairs and most of all a unique floral arrangement.

It perfectly respected Cassy’s ideas: a floating rose inside a tall glass vase with a round-shaped composition on top in which Monika put the same kind of flowers she used for the bridal bouquet. She simply added some green Hypericum berries and white gerberas, and a little touch of falling ivy on one side. Cassy chose for her wedding stationery an acid green theme with little crystals catching sun rays.

Atmosphere was magical thanks to an amazing sunset on the lake. After the dinner, dances,open bar and sweet buffet in the cellar of the villa with a “grand final”: a huge wedding cake with cream, white chocolate and lovely Monika’s flowers.

An unforgettable night followed by a great summer vacation that newly wed with their relatives and friends spent just on Lake Orta. What a Summer!

After 9 months from Cassy and Gary’s wedding, in spite of many promises we did not receive official photos of the event. For this reason we decided to publish this post using SposiamoVi pictures (which are lovely too). If you are looking for a photographer for your wedding we would suggest to choose him or her not only by his/her skills but also by his professionalism and seriousness. Isn’t it Mr. Cheater?

First of all I would love to introduce you the main actor of wedding I will tell you about: Desiree and Sander a very nice couple coming from Holland.

For their Italian wedding Desiree and Sander chose Villa Bossi and magic atmospheres of Lake Orta.
Enrico Mocci from Artefoto Arona was their photographer. He took a fresh and dynamic reportage. Just have a look to Desiree and Sander’s PHOTOGALLERY to experience Enrico Mocci’s unique skills.

As for Mariana and Matteo, wedding took place in three different places. First Villa Crespi where bride and groom got ready and came back.

For their first night as married they choose Suite Regina Vittoria. Just a dreamy rooms embellished with red fabrics, furniture dated back to 1700 and a fine marble bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.

After a short walk Desiree and her friends reached Orta Main square. From here bride and father got on the traditional rowing boat to reach Villa Bossi where Orta town hall is located. Here a lovely civil ceremony took place.

As floral designer I arranged flowers decoration to Villa Bossi.
From the first contacts I had with Desiree she explained me she wished to have a simple and informal arrangement based on flowers and romantic white balloons. A nice and original idea.

So this time Villa Bossi garden was not embellished with flowers and petals but it was full with white balloons. They were the joy of children present!

As for flowers I focused the arrangements at the foot of villa columns where the ceremony took place. I created big and happy arrangements with fuchsia roses, cream lilies and white gerberas.

For her bridal bouquet Desiree opted for a round and compact shape. It was realized with ivory Vendela roses without greenery. A trendy solutions for all brides!

After the ceremony a boat with dozens of balloons was waiting for newly weds and their guests to take them all to Villa Gippini where the wedding aperitif took place with lovely dinner to follow to San Rocco restaurant.

At the end of the day the idea of flowers and balloons was really original and amusing.
If you would like to have something different for your wedding Desiree and Sander’s solution could be a very good inspiration.

Church of Madonna del Boden is located on the road leading to small village of Ornavasso (close to Verbania – Piemonte). It climbs on top of one of the most spectacular Alps mountain: Monte Massone. From Mt. Massone peak the view is gorgeous. You can see Mt. Rosa, Mt. Weissmiess, Mt. Adamello and Mt. Bernina. On South view runs over River Po Plain and on 5 lakes such as Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Just amazing!

Church of Madonna del Boden has been built on 500 mt of altitude right inside chestnuts woods. A fresh oasis that Marialisa and Matteo simply loved during the hot August day of their wedding.

As floral designer I took care of all flowers arrangements: white was the theme color for the church and bridal bouquet.

For the church I created a lovely arrangement made up of Ice Queen white roses and Lilium Longiflorum. Different heights that matched wonderful white marble altar and balusters of the church. All this white marble gives to the church elegance and brightness enhancing floral arrangements too.
On Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta areas only Churches of Madonna del Boden and Madonna della Bocciola have this pretty feature.

Marialisa wanted for her bouquet a round and compact shape that I created with Ice Queen white roses with some Pittosporum greenery and some Gypsophilia.

Out of the church a woderful vintage red Jaguar was waiting for Marialina and Matteo to take them to Stresa on the lakeshores. From the mountains to the lake in just 30 minutes!

For their wedding reception Marialisa and Matteo chose Villa Aminta in Stresa a luxury ancient Villa which is now an elegant 5 stars hotel.

Wedding reception here is usually arranged on the terrace of the hotel with breathtaking view on Borromeo Gulf and Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen Island) or in the fine rooms of the Restaurant named “Le Isole” and “I Mori” with lovely gazebo on Lake Maggiore.

For the reception to Villa Aminta I created a fresh centerpiece in pastel colors to match bright frescoes of wonderful I Mori room.
Gerberas, Roses, Aster, Lysianthyus and Lilium : a perfect mix of shapes and pastel colors that matches Marialisa and Matteo’s spirit.

On bride and groom’s table I created a pastel arrangement too but bigger with a long ivy train to match table cloth cover design.

A wonderful sunny day gave the bride and groom and their party, the opportunity to enjoy a lovely aperitif in Villa Aminta gardens.
