Most couples chose to get married in spring, because April, May and June are typically considered the appropriate time for a traditional wedding.
But if you are planning to get married in Italy , and in particular in the lakes area, you may consider seriously the idea of getting married in winter and in particular in December.
“Why?”, you may ask. “But because it is Christmas time” I say! And your marriage can take advantage of “the most beautiful time of the year”!
Imagine: all the little villages are filled with Christmas decorations, ligths, candles, and snow capped mountains all around! Isn’t this a gorgeous setting for you photo album?
You can have Christmas holyday menu for you dinner party and what about a Panettone, the classical Italian Christmas cake instead of the usual wedding cake?
But what entices me most (and not just because I am a singer) is Christmas music! Christmas songs are known by everyone and are mostly the same all around the world. They remember us of our childhood, of beautiful moments spent with our parents and relatives, of gifts and kisses, of old friends, of happiness and love…
This is why I always suggest my special Christmas live show to couples getting married in December.
On this webpage you can listen to some samples of the Christmas songs I like most…with a little Christmas present: you can download some of my Christmas songs for FREE!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from Martha J.!

Eleonora & David’s Wedding at Villa Rusconi Clerici, lake Maggiore – Photo27.com
We have lived abroad for many years now and have friends and family spread over various countries. When we decided to get married, we had no doubts: the only way to properly celebrate our big day would be together with all the people we love and hadn’t seen in a long time.
So when it came to choosing the photographer, we knew we wanted to have someone who could mix in with our friends and family and capture the atmosphere of that special day from within – and not simply as an external observer. We wanted the pictures to tell a story – with all its participants.
We found Diego and Estella by searching the web and when we saw their pictures we didn’t need much else to be convinced – they speak for themselves. When the big day came, I immediately knew our choice was the right one: Diego and Estella were everywhere and nowhere at the same time – capturing moments without ever intruding.
Looking at the pictures now is indeed like reading a story. And like in the best movies, every time we discover expressions and details we had actually missed during the wedding itself – and it is as if we lived that very special day once again.

From Scotland to Ireland in few days!! This is what happens on Lake Orta.
Right after Cristina and Derek Scottish style wedding with pipes and kilts, it’s time for Niamh and Jon’s one! Niamh and Jon are a young irish couple that chose charming Orta San Giulio to get married.
Orta San Giulio is a beloved place for Anglo-Saxons. Every year many couples come here from England, Scotland and Ireland with lots of guests. Thanks to weddings local tourism too has the opportunity to let world knows how beautiful this place is.
For Niamh and Jon’s wedding around 100 people came from Ireland. Every single detail should be followed with care. So, many of Italian Lakes Wedding operators were involved: Koiné String Quartet, photographers Diego and Estella from Photo27.com as photographers, flower arrangements by La Piccola Selva and amazing San Rocco Hotel. All was coordinated by Valentina Lombardi from SposiamoVi wedding planners.
It was a lucky one!
Unfortunately after Cristina and Derek wedding, weather conditions got worst bringing rain and storms. According to weather forecasts we all thought that Niamh and Jon’s wedding would be under pouring rain but it wasn’t! A pale sun just came out…leaving the scene for Niamh and Jon.
From sadness to happyness, everything could be done as planned. Continue Reading »
