In the last few years Winter Weddings are getting more popular and today we would love to speak about a very intimate and romantic one.

Barry and Novi are two lovely guys coming from Indonesia and living in Netherlands.
They wanted a very intimate and romantic setting for their winter wedding…. or better for their Christmas Wedding as they got married on December 18th!
They chose Lakes districts!
Some may think that lakes in winter could be less beautiful than in warm moths but for those who love intimate romantic and solitary spots they could be the prefect choice.

Berry and Novi wanted an intimate event so they invited only their parents and Novi’s sister.
They decided to stay in Orta for the getting ready and celebratory meal.
But for their religious ceremony they opted for a very special spot Sacro Monte of Ghiffa on Lake Maggiore. Continue Reading »

I would like to tell you about Leigh and Alex wedding today!
It took place last June on Lake Orta on a wonderful day.
Leigh was surely one of the most precise bride I had this year as far as decoration and flowers are concerned. She wanted to add a touch of charm to a venue that is very pretty by itself: the restaurant on St. Julius Island!

But let’s start from the beginning.
Leigh and Alex a lovely British couple, fell in love with Lake Orta last year in occasion of their visit to find the right venue for their wedding. The started with Lake Maggiore but as soon as they reached Lake Orta thought it was simply perfect.
Leigh loved the little restaurant on St. Julius Island for its intimacy and cosiness so the choice was easy!

They opted for a civil ceremony to Villa Bossi.
Bride arrived with the rowing boat but also the bridesmaids did! Isn’t it a great idea?

A lovely boat tour with their guests to follow and amazing pictures around the little Island to complete the ceremony!
Andrea and Francesco from Independent Pictures were their official photographers and they did a very good job indeed. Continue Reading »

Another lovely wedding on Lake Orta!
This time is Alex and Leigh‘s turn! A lovely young couple coming from UK decided to tie the knot on this wonderful spot of Italy.

Pretty and sweet Leigh wanted for her wedding a traditional setting with a special touch of elegance!
This is the reason because she opted for white elegant flowers for her and bridesmaids’ bouquets: amazing Phalaenopsis Orchids!

Civil ceremony was held to the Town Hall with a scenic sky ad background!

Reception dinner was held to the pretty restaurant on St.Julius Island; it was arranged with elegant candelabras and a train of flowers all over the table …just a dream!

We will come back soon to tell you about more details of this sweet wedding on Lake Orta.

There is a special corner close to Stresa the pearl of the Lake, a wonderful luxury hotel just on the lake shore with gorgeous gardens and wonderful scenarios for a magic wedding.
And this is the place Darren and Leanne loved when they visit Lake Maggiore one year ago when they came over to find the perfect venue on this spot of Italy: the Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno.

Darren’s words are fixed in my mind “One hour by plane, few minutes on the motor-way and you reach Paradise on Earth!”
How could I describe better a place like this?

Leanne and Darren come from Ireland and the choose Lake Maggiore for their destination wedding. We explored several venues but as soon as they reached Hotel Dino they simply fell in love with the venue and pleasant atmosphere you breath inside.

They really wanted a symbolic blessing in the grounds of the hotel. Their day was blessed with a wonderful sun and mild temperature and their dreams came true.
The blessing was set in the smaller and more private garden of the hotel. Continue Reading »

Sally and Tom got married today on a warm and sunny day on Lake Orta.
After a year planning they tied the knot in the pretty church inside Orta village.

Church of Assunta was decorated with wonderful cream and purple flowers to match prune theme Sally chose. As usual Paola and Monika from La Piccola Selva creations are wonderful!
Sally decided to arrive walking to the church with her bridesmaids and flower girls!

Today Leanne and Darren got married on Lake Maggiore.
After more than a year of planning this lovely Irish couple could not believe their wonderful day has finally come!

They were blessed by a wonderful sunny day on the Lake that allowed them to celebrate their ceremony outdoors just by the shores in the beautiful garden of Grand Hotel Dino in Baveno .
Just have a look to this great scenario, white, purple and lilac flowers for the bouquet of the bride and the wedding arch, simply perfect!

Lovely aperitif and dinner followed the ceremony and most of all they had a great dancing party until 2am with a lot of dances and fun!
A great party for sure, nobody will forget that for long time!

We will come back again speaking about this amazing day on Lake Maggiore with more images of the event and more details. Continue Reading »

Performing in Lago Maggiore never fails to be an unforgettable experience and Lake Orta in particular commands a special place in our affections.

Siobhan and Stuart will forever feel the same, bound by the emotional experience of their early Spring ceremony, which was held in the perfectly manicured gardens of the charming Villa Bossi. It is the seat of the Comune in Orta and therefore famous for holding legally binding Civil Weddings in the area.

Lake Orta appears to be a particular favourite of couples who appreciate unique northern Italian lakeside charm and who are obviously seduced by its mystical powers and religious history. The area is famed for its spiritual tranquility and previously named after its fourth century Patron, Saint Julius.

The intimate wedding party was comprised mainly of guests hailing from Scotland, enjoying a well earned break from recently insistent Scottish rain. A tiny tot sported a most becoming tartan kilt and spencer, very nearly stealing the show!

There is no more romantic arrival of a bride than by boat and Siobhan arrived as not only a stunning ‘sposa’ but a true Lady of the Lake, escourted down an open air aisle adorned with colourful rose petals, towards the 16th century facade of Villa Bossi, boasting an attractive loggia with a beautifully frescoed ceiling. Today we’ve officially opened the wedding season on Villa Bossi in Orta. We show you here the very first images of the event a real scoop!
Siobhan and Stuart were the first couple to get married in Orta. The both come from Scotland as you can also see from groom’s special suit!

A wonderful day in Orta with a mild temperature, almost like summer, pretty unusual for this period considering that Spring has just arrived!
This was the perfect frame for Siobhan and Stuart’s wedding!
As tradition wants Siobhan arrived to Villa Bossi by a rowing boat with her father. The civil ceremony had also a special touch with a wonderful blessing conducted by our celebrants Diane and Giuseppe.
After a pretty walk in the medieval village of Orta bride and groom had a wonderful aperitif in the gardens of Villa Gippini part of San Rocco Hotel, where Siobhan and Stuart also had a delicious dinner with all their guests.

We would like to thank Independent Pictures photographers who gave us in few hours the first wonderful shots of this sweet event.

Who said that choosing the same venue means you are copying someone else’s wedding? That is not true!
This time we would love to speak about this: two weddings similar in venues chosen but surely very different from each other!
Soo and Jason and Lisa and Emmet got all married in Orta this Summer. The two couple both chose the same venues but they meant their wedding parties in two very different ways.

They both had a lovely religious ceremony to Assunta Church in Orta and then a charming reception to San Rocco Hotel. Continue Reading »
valentina on Oct 20th 2009 Lake Orta Weddings
There are many couples that during Summer 2009 chose Orta San Giulio as their wedding destination. I will tell you more about some of them in following posts, such as Amy and Tom or Cassy and Gary.
In the meanwhile I’m here to tell you some of the details I will always keep in my heart of several lovely couples I’ve planned the wedding for.

Starting from today we will present here short posts in which you will know some couples that this summer chose Orta San Giulio.

Side to Orta as destination these couples all chose the same venue for their civil ceremony:
Villa Bossi the town hall of Orta San Giulio.

Villa Bossi is an extremely appealing venue. There is no other venue like this in Italy. Bride arrives with a rowing boat (or motor boat) with bridesmaids, by herself but most of of the times with her father.

Just after getting off the boat, bride walks on the aisle with a hundreds of rose petals on. Groom and guests are all waiting for her under the villa porch where the civil ceremony is going to be held.

Each of the couple that chose Orta and Villa Bossi for their wedding personalized every single detail of the ceremony itself and reception to follow making it unique and wonderful.

The first couple I would like to tell you about are Nathalie and Tim. The images you see here are taken from their wedding.

Theme color Nathalie and Tim chose was lime yellow wonderfully worn by pretty bridesmaid, the sister of the bride.

Both bridal and bridesmaid bouquets were lime yellow too. Nathaile chose a great color for her wedding! Continue Reading »
