As Lake Como planner I’m very excited to tell you the fairy tale of this fabulous couple coming from far away to celebrate their wedding on our elegant Lake Como.
Groom, Sigfrid, was born in Valtellina, Italy – not far at all from Lake Como – while pretty bride Wei-Ting and her family come all from Taiwan where the couple actually lives and work.
They met each other in US about 8 years ago and since then, they have always been together. Isn’t it very romantic?
Wei-Ting is absolutely in love with Italy and after having had a ceremony and party in Taiwan as well, they decided that definitely wanted an Italian wedding dream too.
I as delighted to help them!

When Wei-Ting and Sigfrid first saw Balbianello Villa, they had no doubt: this would have been their Italian wedding venue!
And here we started the whole wedding planning. Groom was very active and enthusiast: it has been a real pleasure working together with them to built the perfect wedding day.
We went through every single detail trying to make a mix of the 2 strong cultures: Italian one and Taiwan one.

Hand-painted parasol, gifts for the guests (Chinese gift for the Italians and Italian gift for the Taiwanese) and all the atmosphere was a perfect combination of different customs for this unforgettable Lake Como wedding.

Sigfrid and Wei-Ting Lake Como fairy tale began with a ‘cinematographic’ setting: the beautiful lake view ceremony, performed in the terrace of the Star Wars movie!
The guests arrived by boat. They picked-up the beautiful parasols and they and attended the ceremony handling the beautiful lace ceremony booklet with the red stamp reporting the names of the couple and the wedding date. This is another Chinese interesting custom!
A special thank to the lovely musicians: they’ve been great! They created a perfect atmosphere for the ceremony! Continue Reading »

Side of Lake Maggiore and close to Milan and its Malpensa airport there is a wonderful villa: Villa Rocchetta!

These features make Villa Rocchetta a unique venue for your wedding on Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta areas. It is also close to one of most evocative Italian churches: Eremo (Hermitage) of St. Caterina del Sasso.

Villa Rocchetta is located between Ispra and Ranco on Lombardy side of Lake Maggiore. It is easily reachable from Milan and Varese (from Autostrada dei Laghi – Sesto Calende Exit) and just few minutes drive from Malpensa International Airport.

Villa Rocchetta is on Quassa Gulf and it is part of a country property along Lake Maggiore shores between Ranco and Ispra little towns.

Secular park of Villa Roccheeta is 30 hectares wide and it is part of Natural Park of Quassa Gulf, a real natural oasis with groves of reeds, erratic rocks, herons and rare Osmunda Regalis a special lake fern. The park has also is very important from the historical point of view. In 1276 the area was the setting of Guazzera Battle between Visconti and Torriani. This was one of the most heinous battle to dominate Milan and its territories at that time.

Villa Rocchetta has been built during 1930s to enhance the amazing natural contexts where its is located. It has been built between a big erratic rock and the lake. The villa was studied to bring out the view on the lake and Piemonte Alps behind it. Just in front of the villa you could admire Piemonte Lake coast with Lesa, Belgirate, further Pallanza, Intra and the mountain peaks of Zeda and Laurasca. On the right you will see Lombardy lake coast with its Santa Caterina del Sasso church rock. Continue Reading »

Cat and Reza… Just like Janet and Ian!
Do you remember about Janet and Ian? It was the first of a long series of weddings planned by Italian Lakes Wedding team at VILLA D’ESTE, the amazing and vip location in Cernobbio, on Lake Como.
On the footsteps of Janet and Ian, today we would love to show you another dream wedding set in this impressive jet set’s favourite destination on Como Lake.

Cat is Russian and Reza is Persian and they live together in London.
Some time ago, visiting Italian Lakes Wedding pages, they were so fascinated by Janet and Ian’s wedding, planned by our team, that they decided that they would love to have a similar incredibly fascinating event.

Talented photographer Carlo Guido Conti was there for them to shoot Cat and Reza’s big day. You surely appreciated his wonderful photo session for Nick and Chris at Villa Rusconi on Lake Maggiore. With regard to this, we anticipate you that we will soon come back on Lake Maggiore together with Carlo Conti, this time going till Locarno, in Switzerland, for another amazing wedding, Georg and Kiki’s one.

Cat and Reza got married in a wonderful day of mid September. Bride’s arrival was really fabulous: on a carriage towed by white horses!

As for Janet and Ian, Cat and Reza’s ceremony took place on Villa’s meadow between the lake and the wonderful mosaic staircase that leads to the location’s upper area: a dream setting, made even more romantic by a string quartet playing sweet melodies on the background.

For their ceremony, bride and groom chose an elegant floral arrangement: roses and white lisianthus. For bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquet, Cat opted for bright colours, with pretty eye-catching little Callas and yellow Cymbidium orchids. Continue Reading »

I would like to tell you about Leigh and Alex wedding today!
It took place last June on Lake Orta on a wonderful day.
Leigh was surely one of the most precise bride I had this year as far as decoration and flowers are concerned. She wanted to add a touch of charm to a venue that is very pretty by itself: the restaurant on St. Julius Island!

But let’s start from the beginning.
Leigh and Alex a lovely British couple, fell in love with Lake Orta last year in occasion of their visit to find the right venue for their wedding. The started with Lake Maggiore but as soon as they reached Lake Orta thought it was simply perfect.
Leigh loved the little restaurant on St. Julius Island for its intimacy and cosiness so the choice was easy!

They opted for a civil ceremony to Villa Bossi.
Bride arrived with the rowing boat but also the bridesmaids did! Isn’t it a great idea?

A lovely boat tour with their guests to follow and amazing pictures around the little Island to complete the ceremony!
Andrea and Francesco from Independent Pictures were their official photographers and they did a very good job indeed. Continue Reading »

After Sarah-Louise and Karl today we would like to speak about Lucy and Rick’s wedding on Lake Como. They chose two great professionals. Amy Turner for photography services and Koinè String Quartet for their music entertainment.

Rick and Lucy got married on a summer-like day with a warm sun.
Ceremony was held in the wonderful church of Ascensione in Cadenabbia the same church Kristi and Ben chose. Do you remember about our post An Unforgettable Wedding at Villa del Balbianello?

During the protestant ceremony Koinè String Quartet played some classical tunes as per bride and groom’s requests, like Marriage of Fiagaro by Mozart, Music for the Royal Fireworks by Handel and Air on a G String by Bach.

Lucy had a pretty bouquet made up with white callas and Vendela roses. Decorations in the church was arranged with only white lilies on the pews leading the bride to the altar.

It’s a pleasure for us today to welcome Rossana to our blog, who is employed at the CENTRO DANNEMANN, the exclusive location on Lake Maggiore in Brissago that recently joined the team of Italian Lakes Wedding.
Rossana is going to tell us something about the romantic wedding of Anna Rita and Mario, an italian bridal pair who chose the CENTRO DANNEMANN for their wedding party on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
This wedding took place on a very special day: the 14th of february, the day of those who are in love!
Now it’s time to let Rossana tell us about Anna Rita and Mario’s most unforgettable day, accompanied by the wonderful images, taken by the photographic studio PHOTO27 in Milan.
With our bride and groom Anna Rita and Mario, we travel to Switzerland to spend their most beautiful day with them in the magnificent scenery of Lake Maggiore.

The last look in the mirror, Anna Rita is glowing in radiance, ready to meet her beloved Mario who is eagerly anticipating her at the church!

Following the blue of the lake (and of the car!) we aproach Brissago, the first village after crossing the border to Switzerland: the newly weds are awaited at the CENTRO DANNEMANN which is beautifully decorated for the party, ready to give them a reception in an unforgettable atmosphere.

As we enter the hall, chosen for this very special day, it is visible that every small detail makes the ambiance of the party warm and intimate… Continue Reading »

There is an Italian song called Cielo d’Irlanda (Irish Sky) by Italian singer Fiorella Mannoia. This is a real celebration to Irelend as Italians see it.
A wonderful green land where you can drawn in the blue (this is a verse of the song). This song is the perfect union between Ireland and Italy as Shauna and Marco wedding we would like to tell you about in our post today.
After Helen and Daehun’s wedding here is another very human and symbolic wedding on Lake Orta. Shauna is Irish and Marco is Italian. We love thinking that this wedding is a perfect union between two nation that has been always friends!
Both Ireland and Italy have this special human and natural feeling that goes beyond every difference.

A union begun centuries ago thanks to close relationship between Irish church an Vatican. You can see it with the Flight of the Earls back in 1608 one of the most famous event in Irish history.
We cannot forget about James Joyce who wrote in Italy many of his books. You can also see Italian classical tradition in rich Irish artistic patrimony.
These days Italy and Ireland are among the best supporters of European Union. From the touristy point of view Irish people love to come to Italy and Italians love travel to Ireland. Italy and Ireland are close also in soccer world, national soccer team’s coach is an Italian man: Giovanni Trapattoni.

For these and other reasons we love to think that Shauna and Marco’s wedding is another confirmation that Ireland and Italy are so close to each other. Continue Reading »
