Today we would love to speak about a wonderful couple coming from US. Donna and Mark.
They decided for an intimate elope on Lake Orta to take place in May 2011 and contacted us to plan all.

From the very first email I appreciate how sweet and kind Donna was.
Mark and her had in mind a wonderful idea…. getting married outside on a rock overlooking a wonderful undiscovered spot of Italy.
Suggestion that came to my mind immediately was: Madonna del Sasso view!

So we decided to arrange all around this.
Donna and Mark arrived in Italy reaching Venice as first destination.
Then they traveled across Lake District, Lake Garda, Lake Como and they finally reached lovely Lake Orta the location they chose for their wedding.
On the day of the wedding the a warm sun of May blessed the day and all was ready for the intimate ceremony on Madonna del Sasso rock.

Mark left the hotel before Donna to reach the breathtaking rock of Madonna del Sasso while Donna was still getting ready and have some pictures with her wonderful bouquet created by Monika and Paola from La Piccola Selva.
Wonderful roses, peonies and a touch of blue… scented lavender!

Donna was one of the sweetest bride I ever had but she is a very sporty and firm woman! She is a sport racing driver!
She loves cars and bikes and she wanted a wonderful Italian car to take her to her wedding ceremony. Something vintage… Italian …a wonderful 50s Lancia Appia.

After a pleasant drive through the nature Donna reached Madonna del Sasso Rock. She was wordless….the view was stunning and Mark was waiting for her in the peace of this enchanting place.

Our professional celebrant Giuseppe was waiting for her with Mark just on the edge of the rock to perform a moving and intense ceremony overlooking a magnificent view.
This was exactly what Donna and Mark dreamt for their wedding: a wedding in the nature overlooking a unique and natural show. Continue Reading »

The church of San Remigio is located on top of Castagnola the cape above Pallanza.
It is part of the wonderful gardens of Villa San Remigio – civil ceremonies venue for many of our weddings.
It is a wonderful pretty church, very romantic, in the nature and built on a rock.
The back of the church overlooks Lake Maggiore.

This morning Ilaria and Giovanni got married here.
For their floral arrangement in the church bride and groom asked us pink and white peonies with Avalanche roses and Dendrobium Orchids.
In this pictures you can see a detail of the long arrangement placed on the altar of the church.

Ilaria and Giovanni’s reception was held in Sala Toscanini of Grand Hotel Majestic where bride and groom had a wonderful wedding lunch with their friends and relatives.
For this occasion we created big rounded centerpieces with lilac and scentful Freesias, Avalanche roses and pink Gypsophila.

Our best wishes to Ilaria and Giovanni for a lot of happiness from all of us at Italian Lakes Wedding.

Today we would like to show you the very first pictures of Donna and Mark’s wedding on Madonna del Sasso.
The church of Madonna del Sasso is very famous for the extraordinary view that you can enjoy from the courtyard in front of the church itself.
The bride and groom choose a symbolic blessing outdoor just on the edge of the rock of Madonna del Sasso with a stunning and romantic view on all Lake Orta and St. Julius Island.
A lovely, moving and sweet ceremony conducted by our celebrant Giuseppe.

Have a look to the vintage car Donna and Mark used to reach Madonna del Sasso. It is a vintage Lancia Appia of the 60s.
A charming touch was also the bridal bouquet with pink peonies, white roses and a delicate touch of blue (something blue just as the tradition!) of lavander and hydrangeas.

A special thank to Enrico Mocci photographer who released the pictures for Donna and Mark’s wedding in a very short time! We will come back soon talking again about this romantic American couple who choose the amazing panormas of Lake Orta for their intimate Italian wedding!

Whatever the season of your wedding, you’ll want to make sure that the flowers you choose are in season.
I know sometimes brides struggle over which flowers to choose for their bouquets and centerpieces. If you don’t have a favorite flower, your best bet is use the flowers that are growing in that particular season. Two reasons why: they are plentiful and they may be less costly than a flower that is not normally grown during the Spring. Lucky for you, Spring has some of the most gorgeous flowers of the year. The old-fashioned Peony it is one of these.
If you are planning on getting married in the Italian Lakes area – lake Orta, lake Maggiore, lake Como and lake Garda – peonies offer a showy and fragrant option for a bridal bouquet for a late May or June wedding.
Peonies grow best in areas with cold winters and summers that are not too hot.
In the right climate, peony plants produce an abundance of flowers, which may eight or nine inches across. Colors range from white to cream to yellow, and from the palest of pinks to reds to the deepest maroons. Some varieties have deep accent colors in the brown and maroon range at the base of the petals.
The fragrance of peonies is reminiscent of an intense rose scent. Continue Reading »
