Two lovely couples got married on our Italian Lakes over 2011 weddings season, among different proposals they both choose a light and chic wedding theme: butterflies!

The result we obtained was really impressive: charming, soft and matches perfectly Lakes atmosphere.

Our Lake Como butterflies theme wedding was really natural and soft. Every single detail was studied in the style.
My bride chose wonderful orchids for corsages and bridesmaid bouquets… this was the first touch the best has to come!

During the meeting with the florist I thought about something different for the ceremony table and after having excluded several options, our final decision is exactly what you can see in these pictures: a giant and colorful butterfly created with many different type of precious flowers. My lovely bride, Christine, just loved the final effect of the decoration for her unforgettable wedding on Lake Como!

The ceremony chairs were decorated with lovely petal cones tight with silk ribbons matching bridesmaid dresses. They had with a dual use: first a decoration for the ceremony setting and later they could have been thrown by the guests to the newlyweds as good wish.
Butterfly theme, has been kept for the dinner with stunning lake view. Butterflies have been used as menu decoration and combined with outstanding ‘flying butterflies’ place cards on every guest glass.
To match Christine’s butterflies wedding theme, flower decorations had a country – chic style with many seasonal flowers combined to bunch of grapes to give a touch of personality to this elegant Lake Como wedding in September!

Looking to Alessandra’s job for Christine wedding I can realize how different could be the same theme! This is a good thing. It means that the same theme can be personalized and unique!
Stephanie, my bride wanted something colorful and really cute for her butterflies themed wedding on Lake Orta.
She is a art designer and had very clear idea about the flowers and decoration she wanted. Main color was pink and its shades.

For her bouquet she chose a loose one with many shades of pink and lilac while corsages, buttonholes and centerpieces were all pink hydrangeas. Lovely butterflies laid on them just like they were there for real.
Hydrangeas matched the lovely paper pom-poms she wanted for extra decorations.
Have a look to the lovely names cards, macaroon favors… and also menus and program of the day made up with a fan for ladies.
The ideal fresh and happy theme for a sunny wedding on Lake Orta.
The cutes part was the table plan. On a base of grass we placed butterflies escort cards, Guests loved to find our their seat in such a pretty context.

We really do think that both brides chose a lovely style. The interpreted it differently but the final result is great what do you think?

They both came from United States and chose to celebrate their special day on Lake Como a real dream!
They enjoyed the whole day, from ceremony to final dancing party, in this gorgeous villa, a wonderful setting to make this day even more special.
The villa has a wide terraced garden that allow you the possibility to personalize it as you prefer on a special day like your wedding could be.

Jennifer and Theodore exchanged their marriage vows on a big terrace. Mountains sprang from the waters offering a perfect and romantic background for the ceremony.
Jennifer reached her moved groom walking on a soft aisle covered with petals and then, under a gorgeous arch full of red coral flowers, they promised each other eternal love.

After the ceremony they took wonderful pictures on another part of the terrace, which gives a different, but absolutely amazing, point of view of the lake.
A very special thank to Photo27 photographers Diego and Estella who have been simply gorgeous!

The aperitif and light cocktail was served on a green meadow among secular trees giving the chance to bride and groom to mingle with their guests.
After that the group reached area of the garden arranged for the dinner.

Every wedding has a theme and Jennifer and Theodore chose a really original one!
They decided to put on each table a bowl with two goldfishes inside to represent their love and Theodore’s passion for fishing. A sweet and lovely idea!

The dinner buffet was delighted by a band, that emphasized with romantic music the most touching moments of the evening, like the cake cut or the dance between the groom and his mother.

The venue continued cheerfully till late night with wild dances and many toasts!!

And then the two goldfishes Jennifer and Theodore left the party to finally start their lives as Husband and Wife!
Congratulations guys and may your life be perfect just like your wedding day!

For their civil ceremony red was the theme color. This was used for the bridesmaids dresses and floral arrangements and especially on Elisa’s bouquet. This was made only with red GRANDE AMORE roses in a round and tight shape.

The reception was held in wonderful Villa Pestalozza in Miasino, on the hills above lake Orta.
To match amazing rooms of the villa Elisa opted for white and green, very elegant and charming.

Darren’s words are fixed in my mind “One hour by plane, few minutes on the motor-way and you reach Paradise on Earth!”
How could I describe better a place like this?

Leanne and Darren come from Ireland and the choose Lake Maggiore for their destination wedding. We explored several venues but as soon as they reached Hotel Dino they simply fell in love with the venue and pleasant atmosphere you breath inside.

They really wanted a symbolic blessing in the grounds of the hotel. Their day was blessed with a wonderful sun and mild temperature and their dreams came true.
The blessing was set in the smaller and more private garden of the hotel.

Ceremony was beautifully accompanied by the music of Koinè String Quartet. They created the perfect atmosphere for this romantic event. A wonderful soundtrack that everybody will remember for a long time!

Scenographic arrival of the bride on a natural aisle to reach a wonderful arch of flowers created by La Piccola Selva that matched perfectly Leanne’s theme based on white, purple and lilac.

Right after the ceremony an amazing aperitif was served directly in the garden.
Hotel Dino and the amazing staff presented a delicious and scenic aperitif in the garden.
All guests enjoyed sun, prosecco drinks and lovely canape and lovely music in the garden while Leanne and Darren took some time to take great wedding pictures.

An early dinner was served in the lovely room of the restaurant.
For the centerpieces Monika and Paola by La Piccola Selva created lovely round shaped compositions in tall glass vases with the same flowers Leanne had on her bouquet. An elegant choice that matched perfectly the style of Hotel Dino.

The wide reception room faces the lake.
A wonderful dinner overlooking the lake, who could ask for anything more?
The dinner ended with a stunning wedding cake all decorated with Ferrero Rocher, Darren’s favorites! What a surprise with sparklers and Dean Martin’s That’s Amore music in the back ground!

And after then let the real party go on… live music and open bar with a great band and a dj set with crazy dances until 2am.
A great group a great fun on Lake Maggiore… Romanticism and fun the perfect mix for a perfect couple!

As floral designer I met Siobhan and Stuart through Valentina, our wedding coordinator specialized on weddings on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.
I leave to her introducion this lovely couple:

Shiobhan and Stuart are a nice couple coming from Scotland.
I never met them before they came here for their wedding. We planned all details via email and our collaboration started more than one year ago!
Sibhoan is a wonderful and sweet person. She faced every step of the planning with a deep joy and enthusiasm and it was a pleasure and honor for me helping her and her groom to make their dream come true.

They decided for an intimate wedding on Lake Orta because they wanted to share the perfect atmosphere of this quaint corner of Italy only with their close friends and family. They spent some days in Orta taking also the occasion to enjoy the lake in a special period of the year: Early Spring.
This moment is special here, flowers and plans and blooming and the tourists are still few.
A perfect choice!

From the floral point of view Siobhan and Stuart’s wedding was really unusual, they chose a theme based on pink and yellow.

For the bride and grooms who wish to celebrate their wedding outdoors in a garden or by the lake shores a colorful palette of pink and yellow could be a trendy solution! It can be dynamic and out of classical choices making the atmosphere warmer colorful and charming!

Yellow is a joyful, energic color which brings optimims light and transparency.
On the other side Pink is very feminine and fine, it recalls elegance, class, refinement, sensuality and seduction.
The final effect is absolutely gorgeous and unique just as for Siobhan and Stuart’s wedding.

Every floral arrangement Siobhan and Stuart chose recalled pink and yellow. Villa Bossi columns arrangements, flowers on the table of ceremony, petals on the aisle and centerpieces for reception to Hotel San Rocco.

In order to create this lovely scheme we opted for Aqua roses in a deep pink shade and some yellow gerberas with a delicate touch of Alchemilla.

To match light yellow bridesmaid dress we opted for little bouquet of Aqua roses that in its semplicity gave a natural and smooth appeal to all.

Have a look to Siobhan’s arm sheaf bouquet. We realized it in the same shades of the entire event!
The arm sheaf bouquet is more or less like a bunch of flowers created to be carried on an arm, just like a baby.

Let’s not forget about the Royal table arrangement in Rotary room of San Rocco Hotel.
We realized it with little candles, roses and floral arrangements in different shapes and dimensions to give a dynamic and joyful aspect just like Siobhan and Stuart wanted.

If you would like to give a special and different touch to your wedding being far from usual schemes then a pink and yellow themed floral arrangement could be a great idea!
The colors need to be matched with taste and elegance to create smooth and charming arrangements!

As flower designer I think that a theme matching sensual pink and lightful yellow could be the perfect choice for a joyful happy and bright wedding!
After all it is just like this a wedding should be! Fun joy and a wonderful sweet party!

Nicole is Australian and Euan is from Scotland. It is just for Euan’s home country that the couple decided for a blue and white schemed wedding.

Blue and white recalls the legendary St. Andrew’s Cross national flag of Scotland. This is one of the most ancient flags in the world dated back to 800 a.c. Flag is made of a diagonal cross representing St. Andrew Martyrdom’s cross on a blue background. St. Andrew is the patron saint of all Scotland. Blue and White are in all national sports wears of Scotland starting from national soccer team.

In Nicole and Euan’s wedding blue and white were just everywhere: in floral arrangements, on flower girl’s dresses and in Nicole’s bridal bouquet. This was a special cascade bouquet that Monika – La Piccola Selva Floral designer – created with white roses and blue gentianas.

The event was coordinated and planned by our wedding planner Valentina Lombardi who works on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Valentina will tell us more about this event.

A very special interesting and sweet couple!
Euan is Scottish and beautiful Nicole is Austalian they both live and work in Dubai. For their special day they opted for Italy because they simply love the food the rustic and quaint atmosphere and also because Euan worked here for about one year.
Nicole also wanted a wedding by the waters of the sea or the lake. Putting all these elements together we thought that Orta could be perfect, so intimate, medieval, romantic and just on the lake shores!

Nicole for her wedding wanted something classical and chic with a timeless elegance theme just like Grace Kelly times. Orta architecture touched their hearts with its facades, narrow roads, pastel colors of houses and little details like the iron gate of the town hall and coat of arms.

When Nicole and Euan looked at Black and White Orta article with Alfonso Longobardi’s photos the finally decided that Orta was more than perfect and Alfonso was going to be the one taking care about their wedding pictures!

As usual civil ceremony was held in the garden of Villa Bossi. Groom and groomsmen wore their traditional kilt, white and blue were everywhere for a day Lake Orta become a little strip of Scottish Highlands!

Have a look to wonderful white little dress of the flowergirls with a blue belt and ribbon on their waist.

After the ceremony bride and groom had a lovely boat tour with a motorboat reaching St. Julius Island. Alfonso Longobardi took a lot of portraits. Great shots from the very famous photographer coming from Naples.

The reception has been set in the garden of Villa Crespi with famous Lake Orta Moorish Villa on the background. Frescoes and decorations and the high minaret are the perfect setting for an elegant reception like Nicole really wanted.
Villa Crespi is also well known for its 2 Michelin Stars restaurant a dinner you cannot forget!

A fairly tale wedding for Nicole and Euan on the music of Scotland the Brave….

BEFORE…
Thinking about the location, finding it, the church, the restaurant.
They travelled across many little villages but non of them was exactly what they had in mind.

THE EPIPHANY…
On a Sunday of the beginning of April Cinzia and Giovanni (Ci and Gio) reached Orta San Giulio village….just a sight….the place they were looking for! The one of the dream, a tiny cosy village. Just amazing! And what about St. Julius Island with its legends, monastery?… This is only the beginning…

THEN…
How to arrange it all living at more than 100 km far from home?
How could they find the church, the restaurant, the priest, the best florist and photographer? Now the dream need to come true!

INTERNET…
Italian Lakes Wedding is site where you can find a lot of wedding planning information it is only a web site. This is not true and it is just here were we found our guardian angels. They are professional, discrete and most of all new Ci and Gio’s friends.

THE CHURCH…
Ci and Gio really wanted a Romanic church without many frescoes on the ceiling.
And here the wedding planners‘ answer comes: Santa Maria of Luzzara church no more than 10 minutes drive from Orta village.
Just perfect! A Romanic church on a lower level in respect to the main road right in the green. A little and single nave with some frescoes inside and outside. This is Ci and Gio’s church!

WAITING…
Gio and three of his friends leave home some days before, reaching Orta and waiting for Ci and all the other guests.
Gio spent some lovely days in Orta waiting for his wife to be to come! How exciting!
Ci leaves on Saturday morning. She can’t wait to be in Orta. After three years living together staying far from the person she loves makes her missing him a lot!
After months checking weather forecasts Ci and Gio really hope for a lovely sunny day… but they are sure that someone is looking at him from the above.

4 SEPTEMBER 2010: THE DAY…
The day has come, sunny, beautiful!
The church was just amazing with all floral decorations Ci and Gio planned.
There were lovely green buxus and white roses everywhere.
Sound of violins in the background created a bucolic atmosphere.
What a surprise! Ci arrives from the top of the hill with her dad holding her tight!
After giving her away the ceremony starts with Don Alberto conducting it.
The ceremony was nice, fresh. Everybody liked it, even for the ones who do not come often to the church!
And Ci and Gio are now married!

Some pictures in wonderful village of Orta and then a surprise for all 24 guests: a boat tour on the lake sipping Prosecco and looking at a wonderful sunset on the shores. Ci and Gio are seated at the back of the boat enjoying such an amazing day!

For Ci and Gio is like being is a movie or in a Renoir’s painting in a timeless location with all the people they love around them. It is a perfect day!
After the boat tour on the lake another surprise for all! Ci and Gio and their guests reached St. Julius Island. It is named the Island of Silence and it is such a mystic place with its narrow road, a single little show, big convent and church and most of all a rustic traditional restaurant.
And here another surprise for all! Ci and Gio told everyone that this stop was just for a little aperitif but after going down on the terrace…. wow!

An evocative atmosphere created by floral designers of La Piccola Selva. A royal table decorated with red roses petals, arrangements with floating candles and some lanterns hanged on the ceiling. The lake as background, the fresh scent of flowers, the little details on the table and the music of the violins….

Now we wake up from our dream and we speak in first person!
The best comment we got was from one of our guests few days after the wedding describing the day: “You cannot tell it… you had to live it!”
This is exactly what we thought. We did not want being to grand easy to get and to describe. We just wanted to have for our wedding some moments of pure happiness with simple elegance. That fine, romantic and bright day will be timeless for us and our relatives and friends, always living in our minds, eyes, ears and hears.

From the earliest stage of the planning, Julia already knew that red roses with a bit of cream and blue details would have been her choice for her Big Day theme.

Outdoor ceremony was dominated by an impressive red and cream arch, a romantic aisle of red petals, red and cream buttonholes and gorgeous bright bouquets: total red for the bride and red and cream for the three bridesmaids, two of them are Julia’s sisters!

The blue accent was used especially on Julia’s bridesmaid dresses: long and very chic…

All people in Varenna were enchanted when Julia and her wedding party took a walk in the village of Varenna for some lovely pictures.

After the ceremony all guests and newlyweds enjoyed a delicious cocktail on the terrace with its ancient fountain plenty of hundreds red floating petals.

Wedding lunch was served indoor immediately after the cocktail.
Julia and Angus chose red color as main character of their elegant centerpieces too.
They were made with transparent glass bowls adorned with deep red bouquets inside.

This combination of colours gave a strong impact to all the pictures taken by the amazing photographer Mauro Pozzer.

Julia was absolutely right! Red and blue details are a perfect choice for a wedding out of ordinary.

Tessa Brix is a Dutch model. She is also famous in her country for many TV spots and catwalks.
In 2003 she was Miss Netherlands Universe and she represented Netherlands to selections for Miss Universe in Turkey.
In 2005 she was chosen again to represent the Netherlands to Miss Europe in Paris.

It was a real honor for Italian Lakes Wedding Team hosting Tessa Brix wedding. We worked hard to make this happen and to let Tessa and Daniel enjoy their event in every single detail.
Valentina Lombardi – our planner for Lake Maggiore – followed the planning event, Monika Andenmatten followed floral design. Enrico Mocci was the photographer chosen by Tessa and Daniel to be their official photographer for their Big Day.

Wedding was arranged among Stresa, Pallanza and Isola Bella.
Three well known destinations on Lake Maggiore. They were the perfect frame for such a great wedding. A wonderful sunny day was the final touch!

Villa Palazzo Aminta was the headquarter of all the events. It was the place where bride and groom and their guests spent their staying in Italy.
At the right time all guests took a lovely motorboat to reach Villa Rusconi Clerici.

Marriage ceremony was held in the lovely lawn of Villa Rusconi on the lake shores.
Just perfect!

Tessa’s choice for flowers was based on Lisianthus, Freesias and Roses.
White and lilac rose petals were scattered on the aisle in the green garden of Villa Rusconi.
As far as the blessing was concerned Monika Andematten created two high arrangements placed side of the ceremony table.

Tessa’s color scheme was based on lilac and white in different pastel shades.
These fine and elegant colors were also incorporated in Tessa’s elegan bridal bouquet who matched her wedding dress just perfectly.

After the ceremony Tessa and Daniel enjoyed the wonderful day with a short toast to the villa and most of all with a motorboat tour to Borromeo Islands and Isola Bella.

After the pictures it was time to come back to their guests for Tessa and Daniel.
They were all waiting for them to Villa Palazzo Aminta.
While waiting for them they all took the opportunity to change their dresses and suits and have a little swim in the swimming pool of the hotel.
It was a hot day!

Tessa and Daniel took many other pictures in the wonderful rooms of the hotel.
This is one of the most exclusive venues on Lake Maggiore.

After a lovely aperitif in the garden and a perfect dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, some speeches and lots of kisses and moving moments it is time for the wedding cake!

A delicious and beautiful wedding cake was the perfect surprise arranged by Tessa’s mother for bride and groom.
Tessa and Daniel cut their cake in the garden of Villa Aminta overlooking a perfect night view on the Lake and Borromeo Island.

Just a magic moment for the unforgettable wedding of Miss Netherland Universe on Lake Maggiore!
