Today I would love to tell you about one of the most original couples I had last wedding season.
Niamh and Stephen are a wonderful couple living in Kuwait. Niamh as you can tell from her name comes from Ireland and Stephen is French.
They fell in love with Lake Orta having a look to our web site and seeing all the weddings we planned over here so they decided to get married here without coming here before for a visit.

For this reason they decided to have a little pre wedding photography service, just the two of them to live and explore the little romantic and charming corners of Orta village!
They simply took a walk with their friend Fwad Afzal Photographer in Orta village and got magic pictures that they will never forget!
Have a look at them isn’t it a great idea?

Niamh and Stephen got married the day after, our last wedding of 2011 summer season.
Niamh was simply beautiful in her romantic dress and have a look to the four bridesmaids too in ivory beige long dresses! Continue Reading »

Lucia is a typical row boat once used at Lake Como for transporting goods to the markets. It got famous in the well known romance written by Alessandro Manzoni I Promessi sposi, a story about spouses that had to outrun lots of hindrances in the 18th century before getting married at Lecco.
Today some gentlemen do collect those old boats, restore them and rent them out for special occasions like marriages or row-competitions.

For Axel and Melanie we organized one of these old boats, got it decorated and had 2 strong men to row them 600 metres to Ossuccio with its really cute townhall. All guests were waiting and applauded at the arrival. As well the major awaited them under the historic arcades to start with the civil wedding ceremony.
Sure that all majors in Italy have to read out the legal articles, but they do it with much pleasure. And often there are situations to laugh as it is not always very easy for the celebrant to pronounce all those foreign names and cities. So with this, all wedding ceremonies get a very soft and smiling touch, although they are legally accepted.

After the ceremony we arranged a toast in the garden below the arcades, just to have some sips of Prosecco and some light fingerfood, nicely prepared right next to the lake.

Then we proceeded by boat to the famous Villa Balbianello for some beautiful photos of bride and groom in the elegant garden of this villa. Nice to walk here where already successful films have been registered, like Ocean Eleven, Star Wars, James Bond etc.

Our photographer Julian Kanz had much fun to shoot Melanie and Axel in all parts of the pittoresque property. And the best is, that even all guests do enjoy this one-hour-stop as they can stroll through the gardens and relax at each corner with wonderful views over Lake Como.

There is nothing more romantic and emotional than a ceremony by the lake shores… this is many couples’ dream!
Imagine an elegant villa facing the lake with a wonderful green lawn surrounded by a spectacular nature.
If this is your dream too the good news is that there will be two new posts on their way that you cannot miss!

We will keep the secret for now… without telling venue’s name.
We can only say that the first of the first ceremony has been held in Moltrasio on Lake Como and second one on Lake Maggiore in Stresa.

Photographer of both services is Riccardo Bestetti based in Lecco on Lake Como. Riccardo Bestetti has a long experience on wedding photography on all Northern Italy.
His photography has a unique style with deep colors and a very candid feeling.

Today we are posting a lovely work our planners Valentina & Alessandra did for us.
As you probably know Valentina is our planner for Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore and Alessandra works on wonderful Lake Como. Today they take the opportunity of showing stunning landscapes of Lakes Como and Orta from a different perspective: wedding theme and decoration.
Isn’t it a great idea?
We are sure we will do it again with other post and themes so stay tuned for our Four-handed posts!
Two lovely couples got married on our Italian Lakes over 2011 weddings season, among different proposals they both choose a light and chic wedding theme: butterflies!

The result we obtained was really impressive: charming, soft and matches perfectly Lakes atmosphere.
Our Lake Como butterflies theme wedding was really natural and soft. Every single detail was studied in the style.
My bride chose wonderful orchids for corsages and bridesmaid bouquets… this was the first touch the best has to come!
During the meeting with the florist I thought about something different for the ceremony table and after having excluded several options, our final decision is exactly what you can see in these pictures: a giant and colorful butterfly created with many different type of precious flowers. My lovely bride, Christine, just loved the final effect of the decoration for her unforgettable wedding on Lake Como!

Cindy and Christian asked me for a catholic wedding at lake Maggiore, their location was already fixed, the charming Villa Margherita in Oggebbio.
My proposal was to celebrate the church wedding in the roman chapel Sant’Agata in Novaglio near Oggebbio. This chapel was rebuilt and restored by the parish of Oggebbio and so the local priest is very proud to present this romantic and welcoming church, inside all worked out in rough granit stone.

A wonderful ceremony was prepared, but the most emotional moment were the trumpet music interludes from Cindy’s father and at the end an Italian song presented by one of their best friends being an opera singer.

There is enough outdoor-space to organize a toast afterwards and so we had special champagne from Lussemburg as Cindy parents are coming from there.

After enjoying a while the scenic views one has all over the lake we drove back to Villa Margherita and had the Italian aperitivo in their terraced gardens followed by a seated dinner.

Let me mention our deco-concept: it was all white and a smooth purple. Purple colored Hortensies matched with white Roses and white and lilac Lysianthus. Continue Reading »

Louise and Robert knew exactly what they wanted: to get married at Orta, a small and very pittoresque village at Lake Orta. Fascinating because of its beauty, its small streets with cafes and little shops, the religious island San Giulio right in front of the main square.

We arranged the civil wedding at the historique townhall called Villa Bossi. The civil wedding takes place outside in the beautiful garden. With the sun shining so nicely, a blue sky, we all waited for the arrival of the beautiful bride Louise. She came with her father in a rowing boat and was welcomed by her 2 bridesmaids before she walked down the natural path which suited as an aisle like in a church.
Happily both said yes in the right moment, our interpreter Irmi was much more in tears then bride and groom! Continue Reading »

They fell in love both with Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore and could not decide what to choose for their wedding. They ended with choosing both of them!
This is what happened to Lucy and Mike!

When they came over for their visit to choose the right venue for their wedding Lucy fell in love with the wonderful spot of Villa Bossi in Orta, an ideal venue for an outdoor civil ceremony.
For their reception Lucy and Mike wanted something different and for this reason they opted for Lake Maggiore and its wonderful clear waters.

Let’s start from the beginning!
Lucy and Mike’s guests were not many they decided to stay in Stresa the gem of Lake Maggiore overlooking Borromeo Islands.
It is just there where Lucy got ready.
At the right time all were ready to reach Lake Orta for a wonderful ceremony at Villa Bossi.

Verona is an very ancient city full of charm and elegance just steps from Lake Garda.

Verona is the synonym of Romeo and Juliet’s romantic idyll.
The heart of Verona is a jewel with infinite faces, with its wonderful cafes and historical monuments, winding cobblestone roads, churches, squares, castle and slow river that flows through it.
Everywhere you walk you will find a path that will take you to one of the oldest theatre in the world: the Arena, still beautifully preserved.
Elegance of the past that you breathe in this city is a perfect frame for a charming wedding!
To Matteo and Martina it all seemed natural choosing the elegance of this noble city for their ceremony and the relaxed and joyful frame of Lake Garda for the reception.
This is to combine two different souls and we are sure you will love both of them.
Martina’s grace illuminated everything, as well as her wonderful smile!
Her long white dress, her hair softly gathered by impalpable white flowers and only a pretty bow on shoes… Final preparations for the bride and everything is ready.

Every detail in Matteo and Martiana’s Wedding reveals elegance and simplicity, expertly captured by our photographer Beatrice Mancini. The ceremony was held in Duomo Baptistery in Verona, a setting of rare elegance and sobriety, white candles down the aisle and a delicate bouquet of Gypsophila. Continue Reading »

Today I would love to tell you about a very sweet and your couple coming from UK.
Hannah and James got married on late September 2010 on wonderful Lake Orta.
The day was blessed by a warm sun that brought a lot of joy to the event.

We can say that Hannah and James were surely the youngest couple we planned the wedding for in 2010 and we really want to wish them all the best for their life together!

Hannah and James decided for Orta without seeing it before. They thought once arrived here the lovely medieval village could be a sweet surprise for their guests and for them too.
And it was! The warm temperature of September welcomed the small group. Bride and groom decided for an intimate wedding on the shores of the lake.

Hannah’s tastes were on purple, lilac and white and she opted for a very elegant bouquet matching bridesmaid dress.
She decided to get ready in the amazing rooms of the Moorish Villa, one of the most luxurious venues in Orta San Giulio.

Hairdresser reached her here and she had all the time to get ready before reaching Orta main square to get on a rowing boat to reach James waiting for her to the town hall.

This time it was the bridesmaid to walk on the aisle with the bride. Have a look to the colors on the warm sun of September aren’t the two girls just stunning? Continue Reading »

Cat and Reza… Just like Janet and Ian!
Do you remember about Janet and Ian? It was the first of a long series of weddings planned by Italian Lakes Wedding team at VILLA D’ESTE, the amazing and vip location in Cernobbio, on Lake Como.
On the footsteps of Janet and Ian, today we would love to show you another dream wedding set in this impressive jet set’s favourite destination on Como Lake.

Cat is Russian and Reza is Persian and they live together in London.
Some time ago, visiting Italian Lakes Wedding pages, they were so fascinated by Janet and Ian’s wedding, planned by our team, that they decided that they would love to have a similar incredibly fascinating event.

Talented photographer Carlo Guido Conti was there for them to shoot Cat and Reza’s big day. You surely appreciated his wonderful photo session for Nick and Chris at Villa Rusconi on Lake Maggiore. With regard to this, we anticipate you that we will soon come back on Lake Maggiore together with Carlo Conti, this time going till Locarno, in Switzerland, for another amazing wedding, Georg and Kiki’s one.

Cat and Reza got married in a wonderful day of mid September. Bride’s arrival was really fabulous: on a carriage towed by white horses!

As for Janet and Ian, Cat and Reza’s ceremony took place on Villa’s meadow between the lake and the wonderful mosaic staircase that leads to the location’s upper area: a dream setting, made even more romantic by a string quartet playing sweet melodies on the background.

For their ceremony, bride and groom chose an elegant floral arrangement: roses and white lisianthus. For bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquet, Cat opted for bright colours, with pretty eye-catching little Callas and yellow Cymbidium orchids. Continue Reading »
