Natacha and Francesco reached Lake Orta from Switzerland.
They opted for a religious ceremony in the church of Maria Assunta in Orta village that was really moving. The reception party was held in Castello di Miasino on the hills above Lake Orta.

We already introduced Piero Gatti who is specialized in weddings over Stresa and Baveno but sometimes he also like working on Lake Orta.

Our readers will surely remember that last year we opened the season with Elisa and Tobia’s Just Married post in Madonna del Sasso church on Lake Orta.

Such an incredible coincidence!
Today’s Just Married opens with another wedding at Madonna del Sasso church: Cristina and Renzo’s one!
After wonderful season we had last year we hope that this lovely coincidence could be good luck for our bride and grooms and professionals working with us on our lakes.

Cristina and Renzo got married this late morning.
We can tell you about this thanks to Piero Gatti photographer from Studio Foto Smile in Baveno. He gave us the pictures of this wonderful event!
We’ve already spoken about Piero Gatti. He works in Stresa and on Lake Maggiore but today he reached Orta with great results as you can see!!

Cristina and Renzo come from Milan and they simply love Lake Orta.
This is the reason they decided to get married in one of the most stunning churches of this lake: Madonna del Sasso church.

Madonna del Sasso is not just a wonderful church with stunning pieces of arts inside but it also has a breathtaking view on all Lake Orta.

Cristina choose for her bouquet her favorite flowers: white tulip!
As she wanted we created for her a round shaped bouquet which matched her dress. Many tulips with little mixed leaves of Pittosporum and little flowers of Selaginella.

Congratulations to Cristina and Renzo and best wishes for a lot of happiness from all our team!

Let’s start with Ksenia and Sergei a wonderful Russian couple.
For their wedding photographs they chose Isola Bella and its Italian gardens.

Kylie and David arrived from Asia. David had Italian heritage but live and work for finance in Taiwan. Kylie his wonderful bride is Chinese.

Let’s get back to Europe. Mara and Harald: they came from Austra and they chose San Vittore church on Pescatori Island for their religious wedding followed by a lovely reception in one of the terraced restaurants on the Island.

Let’s go North Kheite and Daniel came from Germany.
In the picture you see the bride close to colorful fishing nets on Pescatori Island.

From Germany to Denmark with Eleonora and Niels you can see them walking on the lakeshores on Isola Bella.

Among Piero Gatti’s best shots on Borromeo Islands we cannot forget Italian couples who know very well this area.
Mafalda and Fabian who chose San Vittore Church for their religious ceremony on Pescatori Island. Laura and Andrea who chose Isola Bella and its amphitheater.

We talked about Borromeo Islands their natural beauty and their history several times.
But this time we would like to suggest our brides and grooms some useful information for a wedding on the three main islands of Borromeo Gulf: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori.

These three islands have a rich vegetation and a mild climate all year long, thanks to Lake Maggiore waters, sun rays exposition and wind shielded position. Here you will appreciate a Mediterranean micro climate and you will see delicate and exotic plants.

If you are thinking about getting married on Borromeo Island take April and May in consideration. You will find showers sometimes but rhododendrons, magnolias, azaleas and camellias blooming is amazing. It could be the perfect frame for amazing wedding pictures.

As far as transports are concerned all islands are reachable thanks to ferries or lovely motorboats services. They may be able to transfer even big groups of people.

Booking the boats you could have an exclusive use of the boat or ferry to enjoy a lovely tour on the lake during the day or even at night to appreciate an amazing panorama.

Lake is most of the time calm and quaint there are not storms or heavy rain except for summer storms in late summer.
Waters are calm too and in less than 10 minutes you can reach islands from mainland.

Borromeo Gulf has a lovely Alpine frame around it but each Island has its own character and peculiarity. We will tell you more in next posts.

Stresa Mayor recently agreed for the possibility of a “twin ceremony” . Legal ceremony to be held to town hall building of 1700 in Stresa main center before and an extra ceremony conducted by Mayor himself, directly to Grand Hotel des Iles de Borromées.

Celebrating a wedding to Grand Hotel des Iles de Borromées means breath Belle Epoque atmosphere among rich tapestries, antique forniture, mosaics, Murano chandeliers and wonderful plants and flowers.

Our trip discovering historical hotels on Lake Maggiore begins from Stresa. The most famous destination is Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées for sure. It faces lake shore right into a wide secular park. From its rooms you will enjoy a wonderful view on Borromean Islands and Alps. The hotel garden host a famous and wonderful marble fountain one of the most known places in Stresa.

Regina Palace Hotel is very famous too. It was opened in 1908 and recently renewed. Regina Palace is a leading liberty style hotel that was able to keep the same appeal and atmosphere of fin de siècle. A wonderful garden surrounds the hotel, the ideal set for stunning wedding pictures.

Grand Hotel Bristol is the only neoclassical building on Stresa Lake sidewalk. Hotel Bristol is very elegant and fine. It has all luxury and leading hotel features: boiserie, rich tapestries, crystal and marble chandeliers and even glass domes and wonderful carpets. Outdoor swimming pool is right into a rich park overlooking Isola Bella.

Lido Palace Hotel, opened in 1857, is located in Baveno – between Stresa and Verbania. Hotel has an amazing past, a magic view over Borromeo Islands and a tasteful cuisine. It combines modern structures comforts to traditional and romantic style that has delighted visitors for more than a century. Queen Victoria stayed here during her visit in 1879 and Winston Churchill choose it to spend his honeymoon.

Going North we would like to suggest a wonderful Hotel. It is one of the few with direct access to the lake. It is located in Pallanza just in front of little Island of San Giovanni. Grand Hotel Majestic is just few steps from Pallanza center walking distance or boat distance from town hall where you could set your lovely civil ceremony.

You will enjoy a lovely aperitif in the garden of the hotel or on one of the terraces and a gourmand dinner to follow in beautiful Toscanini Room that can host up to 150 people. This room takes its name from famous Maestro that spent some time here and also took the occasion to direct a little orchestra. A very elegant destination!
