Italian Lakes Wedding team is proud to present Janet and Ian’s wedding at Villa d’Este, one of the most exclusive and known Italian wedding venues.
Villa d’Este is located in Cernobbio on Lake Como. It is a fascinating place where history, nature and architecture create an unforgettable frame.

In 1868 Maria Feodorowa Empress of Russia adquired it and in 1868 it was changed in a fancy hotel that become one of the most known worldwide.
Many of Villa d’Este guests are famous artists and important people.

valentina on Oct 14th 2008 Lake Orta Weddings

From Scotland to Ireland in few days!! This is what happens on Lake Orta.
Right after Cristina and Derek Scottish style wedding with pipes and kilts, it’s time for Niamh and Jon’s one! Niamh and Jon are a young irish couple that chose charming Orta San Giulio to get married.
Orta San Giulio is a beloved place for Anglo-Saxons. Every year many couples come here from England, Scotland and Ireland with lots of guests. Thanks to weddings local tourism too has the opportunity to let world knows how beautiful this place is.
For Niamh and Jon’s wedding around 100 people came from Ireland. Every single detail should be followed with care. So, many of Italian Lakes Wedding operators were involved: Koiné String Quartet, photographers Diego and Estella from Photo27.com as photographers, flower arrangements by La Piccola Selva and amazing San Rocco Hotel. All was coordinated by Valentina Lombardi from SposiamoVi wedding planners.
It was a lucky one!
Unfortunately after Cristina and Derek wedding, weather conditions got worst bringing rain and storms. According to weather forecasts we all thought that Niamh and Jon’s wedding would be under pouring rain but it wasn’t! A pale sun just came out…leaving the scene for Niamh and Jon.
From sadness to happyness, everything could be done as planned. Continue Reading »

We always love playing at Villa Bossi in Lake Orta, and Niamh and Jon’s wedding was no exception, particularly as we had met the couple in advance and knew it would be a lovely day! We played special arrangements of Pachelbell - Canone in Re magg. and a tune called ‘O’ (from the famous Cirque de Soleil) which Niamh and Jon had chosen to personalise their ceremony. We moved outside to the terrace at Hotel San Rocco to play for guests during the drinks reception, and despite the threatening black clouds the weather stayed dry just long enough for some photos!
The Koiné String Quartet
admin on Jul 28th 2008 Wedding Music

The string quartet is the ideal size of ensemble for most events ranging from a handful of guests up to a few hundred or more. The combination of two violins, viola and cello can create a wide range of textures and moods varying from the most subtle and delicate to a full, rich string sound, which carries equally well in small or large halls, outdoors, or in a marquee.
A string quartet can add the perfect touch to your wedding day, whether entertain the guests for the drinks reception or playing music for the bride walking down the aisle. A string quartet is completely mobile and requires no power supply. This makes it an ideal choice for a civil ceremony or a summer wedding, where guests may move outside for drinks and back inside for dinner. Some of the most well known pieces you might hear a string quartet play at a wedding or private party are “Canon In D” by Johann Pachelbel, “Air On the G String” by Johann Sebastian Bach, and excerpts from “The Four Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi.
Whether you have chosen to have a Church or Civil wedding ceremony, music is surely the most important factor in creating the perfect classical and romantic atmosphere. Choosing music to suit your wedding day can be a difficult task. The Koiné String Quartet can provide music at any point during your wedding day, whether it be the ceremony itself, the hotel drinks reception in the afternoon, as background music during the wedding meal, or indeed after the meal itself as live music and entertainment.
All professional musicians, the Koiné String Quartet is a young and vibrant ensemble based in Piemonte that has been playing for weddings and corporate functions throughout lake Orta, lake Maggiore, lake Como and lake Garda. since 2003. Continue Reading »
