For this reason they decided to have a little pre wedding photography service, just the two of them to live and explore the little romantic and charming corners of Orta village!
They simply took a walk with their friend Fwad Afzal Photographer in Orta village and got magic pictures that they will never forget!

Niamh and Stephen got married the day after, our last wedding of 2011 summer season.
Niamh was simply beautiful in her romantic dress and have a look to the four bridesmaids too in ivory beige long dresses!
The dresses matched perfectly the color of the flowers Niamh chose for them, ivory cream roses and gerberas created by La Piccola Selva with the other floral arrangements of the day.

Civil Ceremony was held in Villa Bossi, Orta town hall and Niamh and Stepehen were so lucky to have a wonderful weather and many guests present to this special day, about 100 guests!

After a little walk in the little roads of Orta with some drinks for guests and some more fun pictures in the village the whole group took the boats to take a lovely trip on the Lake and then reached the restaurant on St. Julius Island.

In our older posts we showed smaller parties to this rustic restaurant by the shores but the wide terrace can fit up to 100-120 guests and this is what happened for Niamh and Stepen’s wedding!

A great dinner and party to follow with a huge chocolate cake too!

Our couple took also the chance to have a lovely walk on the Island to have some other great shots in this quiet and special place: St. Julius Island.

For Axel and Melanie we organized one of these old boats, got it decorated and had 2 strong men to row them 600 metres to Ossuccio with its really cute townhall. All guests were waiting and applauded at the arrival. As well the major awaited them under the historic arcades to start with the civil wedding ceremony.
Sure that all majors in Italy have to read out the legal articles, but they do it with much pleasure. And often there are situations to laugh as it is not always very easy for the celebrant to pronounce all those foreign names and cities. So with this, all wedding ceremonies get a very soft and smiling touch, although they are legally accepted.

After the ceremony we arranged a toast in the garden below the arcades, just to have some sips of Prosecco and some light fingerfood, nicely prepared right next to the lake.

Then we proceeded by boat to the famous Villa Balbianello for some beautiful photos of bride and groom in the elegant garden of this villa. Nice to walk here where already successful films have been registered, like Ocean Eleven, Star Wars, James Bond etc.

Our photographer Julian Kanz had much fun to shoot Melanie and Axel in all parts of the pittoresque property. And the best is, that even all guests do enjoy this one-hour-stop as they can stroll through the gardens and relax at each corner with wonderful views over Lake Como.

Finally we drove back to the Hotel San Giorgio, where we arranged a wedding dinner with local food. But before starting with the dinner, all guests had 2 hours to relax and to refresh themselves. In the meantime it was our task to arrange the table decoration, all in white and green colors. Together with lampions, candles, torches to create a very typical summer party in the beginning of a hot July.

Britta Hartmann-De Marchi is german and therefore the specialist for German, Austrian and Swiss couples coming to the lake Region for getting married.

She herself got married 10 years ago and choose an Italian husband. Enjoying to live here in Bella Italia and coming from 14-years-experience in international advertising and marketing, she liked to change her job into becoming organizer of weddings for german-(and english-) speaking people coming to Italy for their marriage.

Coming from Germany and knowing what to expect in Italy, she is the perfect organizer between bride and groom and the Italian service partners. Correctness, flexibility and a easy hand to plan all details around a wedding make her work very appreciated.

The most emotional part is, when I become almost the best friend of the bride during all the planning time you share with each other. So we both do enjoy the wedding day in its best form and this is important for my work.

We arranged the civil wedding at the historique townhall called Villa Bossi. The civil wedding takes place outside in the beautiful garden. With the sun shining so nicely, a blue sky, we all waited for the arrival of the beautiful bride Louise. She came with her father in a rowing boat and was welcomed by her 2 bridesmaids before she walked down the natural path which suited as an aisle like in a church.
Happily both said yes in the right moment, our interpreter Irmi was much more in tears then bride and groom!

Look at her beautiful bouquet that was prepared by our preferred florist La Piccola Selva. Same colors and shape for the bridesmaids and lots of white and pink rose petals for the newly weds.

After the ceremony we had 2 boats fetching us and bring us over to the island San Giulio. On the terrace of the small restaurant San Giulio we had a toast with Prosecco and typical Italian fingerfood.

Only after a relaxing stay there we proceeded on with the boat along the coastline with wonderful views on lots of historique villas of noble people. Just to be in time for an welcome drink at the Ca dal Rat, a charming trattoria with good local food.

Here again we repeated the color code of white and pink for flowers and the table decoration. A cage pinned to a tree indicated the seating plan. Everybody enjoyed the good food and the attentive service. And our dj had the good music to create a very festive atmosphere.

How bad that at midnight we had to go back on the boats and return to Orta village. But there awaiting another highlight from our part, we let flew the skylanterns. These are coming from Japan and will transport all best wishes for Louise and Robert into the nightly sky – so they will come true.

Vanessa and Stuart are a couple from London who came to Rome with some close friends for an enjoyable weekend end, to visit the most beautiful monuments and museums of the Eternal City, and to go shopping in the city center.
Ooops! We were forgetting to say that Vanessa and Stuart came to Rome to get married!

After the civil ceremony, in the Caracalla town hall, Vanessa, Stuart and their friends have traveled far and wide in Rome, making pictures in the most classic places of the city: St. Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Campidoglio and its terrace overlooking the Roman Forum.

We can say that Hannah and James were surely the youngest couple we planned the wedding for in 2010 and we really want to wish them all the best for their life together!

Hannah and James decided for Orta without seeing it before. They thought once arrived here the lovely medieval village could be a sweet surprise for their guests and for them too.
And it was! The warm temperature of September welcomed the small group. Bride and groom decided for an intimate wedding on the shores of the lake.

Hannah’s tastes were on purple, lilac and white and she opted for a very elegant bouquet matching bridesmaid dress.
She decided to get ready in the amazing rooms of the Moorish Villa, one of the most luxurious venues in Orta San Giulio.

Hairdresser reached her here and she had all the time to get ready before reaching Orta main square to get on a rowing boat to reach James waiting for her to the town hall.

This time it was the bridesmaid to walk on the aisle with the bride. Have a look to the colors on the warm sun of September aren’t the two girls just stunning?

After a very intimate and emotional ceremony in the town hall of Orta – Villa Bossi – bride and groom hosted a lovely boat tour on the lake to finally reach their reception venue: pretty restaurant on St. Julius Island.

Hannah really wanted a royal table for all the guests along the terrace so everybody could enjoy the magic view on the lake.
Decorations for the tables were all in purple, lilac and white matching also nice names cards and stationary.

After the delicious dinner Hannah and James cut their wedding cake… white and lilac.
The night was cheered up by Ezio Lucchini guitarist who played Hannah and James’ first dance and all the following.
On the background the little lights of floating lanterns on the lake.

The youngest couple of 2010 and for sure one of the sweetest and the most romantic event on Lake Orta.

Pretty and sweet Leigh wanted for her wedding a traditional setting with a special touch of elegance!
This is the reason because she opted for white elegant flowers for her and bridesmaids’ bouquets: amazing Phalaenopsis Orchids!

Civil ceremony was held to the Town Hall with a scenic sky ad background!

Reception dinner was held to the pretty restaurant on St.Julius Island; it was arranged with elegant candelabras and a train of flowers all over the table …just a dream!

Luxury! Passion! Perfection!

…These are all words that come into our mind looking at these beautiful pictures taken from Emma and Mark‘s wedding album.
Wonderful Venetian just filled the air with more pathos, enhancing the dramatic atmosphere of the city: a perfect scenario for a special wedding!
Our very great photographer Beatrice Mancini had absolute perfect timing to capture these unique moments of tenderness and joy between our newly weds!!

As you can see from these pictures, style is part of their everyday life: they work and live in one of the most interesting parts of London.

They run a vintage fashion shop in Camden Town and with full pride and limpid self confidence; they adopted such style for their absolutely perfect wedding in Venice.

Venice, the city on water where… sometimes water rises, leaving estimators walking literally into water!

This is what happened to Emma! And she appreciateed the charming and timeless Venice in all its shades. She grasped the playful side of the acqua alta and with joyful nonchalance took off her shoes and decided to add a creative edge to her wedding, ending up to actually having fun!

This is the spirit to really enjoy the uniqueness of Venice!

Their sophisticated but informal style perfectly matched the retro’ Venetian atmosphere and our skilled photographer magnificently managed to catch the delicate beauty of this event.

Venice is the perfect city if you are looking for an intimate ceremony or also if you wish to share your special day with the people you care about most, like Emma and Mark did.
They decided to get married in the town hall, a decision that also matched perfectly their style, shared also by the best man and maid of honor!

Venice perfectly matched their personality, and that was the base for their successful wedding event. It allowed our photographer to take pictures full of emotions, like the ones you are watching now!

The city offers wide range of beautiful, decorated palaces, full of histories and frescos, sometimes letting estimators have a hint of its luxury interiors.

Emma and Mark were also lucky to have their wedding reception in one of these beautiful venue!

After the ceremony they shared the toast to their new life with their guests while appreciating the Venetian gondolas passing by.
Once the reception was over they had the chance to explore the city and get lost in it.

Walking down the streets they could recall the splendor of this city at the time of the Doge, when everything was about excess and luxury!

They could chill walking down the narrow and very characteristics calli, so the streets of Venice are called…

In a few words….this is Villa Pestalozza, the fascinating location in Miasino, on the Orta Lake.
But not only! For the married couple’s first night there is, included in the location’s rent a cosy, pink, ancient suite with a wonderful view on the lake.

Miasino is a little ancient village, situated on the hills just above Orta: it’s one of the little villages who kept better its times past and fascinating soul. Its splendour began in the seventeenth century,
when some wealthy families of Milan arrived here, seeking safety in fight from the Black Death.
A short walk among the tiny cobbed paving streets will get you to the monumental San Rocco church, raised ona dominating height, through the beautiful main square, till the village’s threshold,
towards the lake, where Villa Pestalozza raises.

As soon as you cross Villa Pestalozza’s wrought iron gate you enter in a blooming and fascinating park, where the wide green meadows surrounded by blooming flower-beds alternate with shaded areas, creating a perfect frame for a ceremony or an open-air party.

Blue and white hydrangeas flank the romantic avenue which will take you to the beautiful construction wisely restored with the utmost respect of a calibrated harmony between the age-old park and the mansion hose building began at the end of eighteenth century.

Inside, the main hall’s style is the “Empire Style” : a neo-classicism current, which interested architecture, furnishing, decorative and visual arts of the XIX century. Empire Style developped during Napoleon the First age, for the purpose to celebrate Napoleone Bonaparte’s accession and then, spread in a great part of Europe.

Villa Pestalozza owns four reception-rooms, all joined, in age style, in which 80/85 persons could be comfortably hosted.

The EMPIRE HALL faces the lake, just in the middle of the mansion: it’s a large hall whose ceiling is painted in fresco, whose walls are in venitian yellow gold stucco, in which there is a big Empire ooking-glass, a marble bust in a niche and the anchestors’s portraits on the walls.

The PIANO-FORTE HALL is situated between the hydrangeas flanked entrance alley and the lake: it is a beautyful room whose walls are painted in venitian blue peacock fresco, framed by an ancient dark wooden boiserie, whose ceiling is painted with bunches of flowers, and in which there are a majolica stove and an one century old piano-forte.

The BILLIARD HALL is embellished by: Andrea Appiani’s engravings, representing Napoleon the First’s battles and triumphs, a blowed pink flowers and green leaves Venitian chandelier, by the walls in green Venitian fresco, by the light coloured wooden boiserie, by ancient family’s papers adn a fireplace. The floor, in oval shaped multicolor strewn, was made by the same handicraftsmaster who made Vittorio Emanuele’s Gallery in Milan.

The PONIATOWSKY HALL is a pleasant room with an ancient parquet, facing the HYDRANGEAS COURT, full of family’s memories.

The slightly renovated by Donna Giulia’s touch facing the lake and the garden SUITES, are situated at the first floor. All of them have a wardrobe and a ” salle de bain “. Silence and quiet surrounding them promise deep rest nights.

CAMILLIA SUITE is at the mariedd couple disposal, already included in the mansion’s rent, to spend a romantic first wedding night.

The OTHER SUITES are at parents and guest’s disposition, subjects to reservation and against payement.

In Villa Pestalozza everything tells about a ” d’antan charme ” renovated by Donna Giulia’s touch, the owner of the location who, with hospitality and courtesy, will make you feel at home.

If, otherwise, you will invitate a big number of hosts, or, if you prefer to celebrate your wedding in the open air, from May 2011, the mansion will dispose of a wrought iron panoramic TERRACE in which 120 persons could comfortably stay.

If you decide for the civil rite, you could celebrate, at a really very short walking distance from Villa Pestalozza, the ceremony at PALAZZO SPERATI, Miasino’s Town Hall: a seventeenth century construction, built in the Orta lake noble mansion classic style. Weddings are usually celebrated in the open air, in the suggestive flagstone paved and facing an ” all’italiana garden ” mansion’s court.

If you decide for a religious ceremony, you could choose between the imposing SAN ROCCO Church, at walking distance from Villa Pestalozza through the hystorical old Miasino village, or BOCCIOLA SANCTUARY, in Barocco style, famous for the wonderful view on the Orta lake and on the Alps.

All this is Villa Pestalozza: there is anything else but the embarassment of choosing!

Today we are discovering Gardone Riviera together with Kate and Kevin and wonderful pictures taken by Alfonso Longobardi one of the best and most wanted Italian wedding photographer. Kate and Kevin are a lovely English couple in love with Italy.
They toured it from North to South and when they reached Lake Garda they discovered Gardone Riviera and so they decided that it needed to be there!

Town hall of Gardone Riviera is a lovely villa of 1700 built in liberty style in the heart of the quaint village.
The villa has an amazing park with exotic and mediterranean vegetation.
At the entrance you will find a great marble staircase and in the inside there are antiques and wonderful paintings.
The room where civil ceremonies are held has a stunning frescoed ceiling.

After the ceremony Kate and Kevin took a short walk on the lakeside in Gardone Riviera village. Alfonso Longobardi took the chance to take fantastic wedding shots! Have a look!

Kate and Kevin arranged their wedding reception in Gardone Riviera in an evocative villa of 1800. The villa has a wonderful neo classical facade facing Lake Garda waters.

Park of the villa recalls they classical landscape of Lombardy side of Lake Garda with olives, cypresses… such a perfect frame for Kate and Kevin’s wedding cake!

Villa gives the possibility to arrange and outdoor reception on a lovely lawn on the lake shores a dreamy setting don’t you think so?

The villa is part of a big monumental and historical complex which includes Villa Alba – used for congress and exhibitions – and San Marco tower.

San Marco Tower was built at the beginning of 1900 by the owner fo Villa Alba: Richard Langensiepen. He was a famous German business man.
San Marco Tower was an observatory and it is just on the lake shores.
In 1925 it was purchased by Italian poets Gabriele D’Annunzio. He transformed the German gothic style of the villa into a Venetian Military style. The tower became an enlargement of Vittoriale and the name changed from Ruhland Tower into San Marco Tower.

Between 1943 and 1944 San Marco Tower was the place where Benito Mussolini and his lover the actress Claretta Petacci met secretly.
A famous love story for this special place that today is the unique scenery for all brides and grooms who choose Gardone Riviera for their wedding on Lake Garda.
Just like Kate and Kevin did.

Anna and Roberto got married in Sacro Monte church.

The party went on to beautiful Villa Ortea, Pettenasco and in its wonderful gardens facing the lake.

Both brides are named Anna and chose a falling orchids bouquet.
Pink Cymbidium for Anna and Roberto and white Dendrobium for Anna and Ale.

Anna and Ale’s civil ceremony was held in the late morning to Villa Bossi – Orta San Giulio town hall.

Villa Bossi garden was full of baloons with the colors of Inter FC Milano – who recently won Champions League. Ale is a great supporter of this team!
