We can only say that the first of the first ceremony has been held in Moltrasio on Lake Como and second one on Lake Maggiore in Stresa.

Religious ceremony was held in the beautiful church of San Abbondio in Mezzegra just above Lenno hills. Our readers will remember that we’ve already told about this pretty church in occasion of Andrew and Severine’s wedding.

Mezzegra is a little village in a special area of Lake Como: Tremezzina region. Ancient villages between coast and hills have amazing views the best of Lake Como. All this is enriched by wonderful palaces and ancient churches.

Great panorama on Lake Como is one of the main feature of San Abbondio church, one of the most wanted for destination weddings.

Right after the ceremony bride and groom and their guests had a lovely boat tour on big ferry called Milano. This is one of the most beautiful and ancient ferries of Lake Como built back in 1904.
A piece of history on Lake Como!

This was an original choice that let all guest enjoy the beauty of the lake and lead the group to Villa Erba where the reception was arranged.

Villa Erba is located in Cernobbio and it has a wonderful Italian garden facing the lake: a perfect patio for an exclusive and elegant outdoor event.

Villa Erba was built back at the end of 1800. It has two floors connected by a wonderful staircase. On top of it there is a panoramic tower.
Rooms inside have amazing frescoes on the ceilings and they can be the ideal frame for a very elegant reception.

If you are looking for some more Italian wines and beers for your after dinner party and a nice venue to mingle ad talk a little more with your friends there are a couple of wine bar and pubs just in Orta itself. One is just in the mainsquare, the wine bar is very small but it has the widest terrace in Orta…the whole square!
In a very relaxed way you could enjoy a glass of wine in the empty main square of the village.

The other wine bar/pub is in Orta main street a cosy intimate venue with a rear terrace. Lights of candles and rustic brick walls wit many bottles of wine and wine bar furniture will let you appreciate the real and quaint atmosphere of Orta by night.

But if you want sweat and dance until late at night there is only one place we can suggest!
There is a beer factory just outside Orta village, no more than 5 minutes drive from it.
The beer factory is housed in an ancient factory now converted in a lovely beer factory with big (cisterne), bar and a wide space to dance all night!
Beer lovers could taste here artisanal beers and many other drinks. The venue has also a wide space outside with nice gazebos and alfresco area.
But most of all the venue has a very big space inside with wooden chairs and table that can be arranged according your tastes. Beer factory and pub owners are friendly guys who will be happy to welcome and let you taste the beers they produce.

Thanks to a live band or a DJ you can keep on partying and dance until late at night.
As we mentioned in previous post Lisa and Emmett did it!
They kept on enjoying their wedding until 4am!

Whit a short transfer, bus or minivan shuttle few minutes you can reach this very special place to end your wonderful day with a great dancing and beer party!

They both had a lovely religious ceremony to Assunta Church in Orta and then a charming reception to San Rocco Hotel.

Soo’s idea of the perfect wedding was a very simple and romantic event. She chose a romantic big wedding dress in white with a happy sunflower decoration for the church and reception.

The only exception was her cascade bridal bouquet designed by Monika Andenmatten from La Piccola Selva. This bouquet is actually in La Piccola Selva web site gallery. Soo had a look at it and fell in love with it so she wanted it for her wedding.

Soo is a Chinese-British violinist living in Australia with Jason. Since her passion for classical music she wanted a ceremony and reception totally accompanied by the sound of a classical string trio.
The reception ended with some more classical and jazz music played to the wonderful long piano in San Rocco hotel. The only exception was Soo and Jason’s first dance: Undisclosed Desire by Muse. But we know Muse’s music has a lot of violins in their backgrounds!

Soo really wanted a classical and romantic dream have a look to her wedding photos – by Independent Pictures.
Aren’t they just a sweet dream?

Lisa and Emmett had the same wedding scheme but a totally different attitude towards the event.
Lisa has a big and happy family with brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. They are all coming from Ireland and they arrived here to spend a wonderful vacation o the Lake.

The ceremony involved all family: bride’s nieces sang a psalm, father of the bride sang a hymn and Lisa and Emmett little daughter sat between them all ceremony long!

After this moving ceremony the joy exploded!
The complete family went to the Island for family pictures….not only the bride and groom but all of them!

Happily reception was held to Hotel San Rocco where Ezio Lucchini entertained the aperitif with a joyful guitar background.

But the party did not end there!
After dinner the whole group moved to a local beer factory to drink home made beers, dance and party until 4am!!

This time we want to tell you about that in a unique way: Eve-Marie and Roland’s wedding will be described directly by bride and groom!

Roland and I are both from Dublin. We met in college and had been great friends for almost a year before we starting going out and that was seven years ago now.
We had planned a big wedding in Ireland and were ready to start paying deposits when we realised that we didn’t want a big wedding with lots of people who we hadn’t met or who didn’t know us. We sat back and really thought about what we wanted and decided we’d love to have a relaxed wedding in Italy with those that matter most to us both. We focused on the northern lake region of Italy because it would have lovely weather in September when we wanted to get married and it was close to airports.
We started searching for planners online and Valentina kept coming up.
The Italian Lake Weddings site instilled us with confidence that these planners were the real deal, so we started emailing Valentina and arranged to come over and view some possible venues on the Italian Lakes.

Roland and I arrived in Orta the night before we were due to meet Valentina (and her colleague and husband Ernesto) and decided to go for a walk down the town. Within 5 minutes of walking through the cobbled village with the beautiful coloured buildings on either side and entering into the stunning piazza with it’s view of the lake and San Julius island, we had decided that Orta was the prettiest place we’d ever seen, that we wanted to share it with all our friends and family. We just had to get married there.

We decided to stay in the hotel San Rocco with our 45 guests. The hotel staff were so accommodating. As a special treat they gave Roland and I the suite in the Villa Gippini which really made the start of our wedding visit magical.

Our wedding was a 3 day affair and the Italian Lakes Wedding Planners helped us to organise all.
We had a Welcome Lunch for our 45 guests in Due Santi Restaurant in the centre of the piazza looking out over the lake. Later that day we took 2 boats across to the island for an amazing rehearsal dinner on the terrace at the Restaurant on St. Julius island, in the middle of the lake. The day after the wedding, we went for a leisurely pizza in La Campana Pizzeria, before we headed home.

We had quite a large bridal party, with four bridesmaids and both of our mothers. Our dresses were all made by a truly gifted woman name Gay DePaor in Ireland who worked so hard on the seven dresses and gave us exactly what we asked for.
My duchess Satin and Chantilly lace dress was perfect to match the 1950s Hollywood style I wanted and she was able to make each of the bridesmaids a different designed dress which allowed the four of them match, but also to show their own personal style.
On the wedding day the make-up artists at the San Rocco wellness center took exceptional care of the seven of us and our local Italian hairdresser Cristina worked wonders with her assistant so that we were all ready to go by 2pm.

There are so many beautiful churches in Orta and Valentina brought us to visit them all, but when we saw the breathtaking view from the Sacro Monte church we were totally smitten. Our guests are still raving about it and it was a lovely way to take out first steps of married life out into that wonderful vista.

The guests and most of the bridal party made their way up to the stunning Sacro Monte church on the fun tourist train that drives around Orta. This was a great treat for our guests.
My father and I followed in a beautiful vintage Bentley car that really felt in-keeping with our 1950’s Hollywood glamour style.

The very talented floral designer Paola from La Piccola Selva arranged our flowers and decorations and all our guest commented on what a superb job she did. I hadn’t been sure what flowers I wanted and she helped me to decide by showing me many of the wonderful weddings she had done previously.
I loved my bouquet which was made of blue hydrangeas and cream roses and the table settings later at the reception were superb. I must admit my favorite part were the heart shaped bushes outside of the church, I just adored these.

The wedding ceremony itself was magical. We had brought our own priest from Ireland who was a close family friend and the string trio we had really added to the atmosphere with their beautiful music. I had been quite concerned about the music in the church because all I had heard was a few songs they had preformed, but they truly were exceptional, providing not only the few songs I had asked for, but also filling in with music wherever it suited the ceremony. They then followed us outside and played to our guests as we congregated around the church and took some photographs.

The photographers from Silver Stars Photo were exceptional. Roberto and assistant Alice were so patient and took so many photos but at no point were they in any way intrusive. They worked wonderfully with the videographer Vera. We haven’t seen photos yet, but I’m sure they’ll be wonderful.

We went through a number of venue choices and Valentina (and her husband Ernesto who takes care about booking and logistics) was very supportive before we finally decided on having the ceremony in the Castello and we certainly made the right decision. The Castello is a beautiful venue with an old world charm. The stairs and stain-glassed window provide a lovely backdrop for photos, as do the pool and the amazing terrace. It was also lovely to feel that it was ours for the day.

We had lovely aperitifs under the trees in the grounds, sitting and relaxing with our guests, while the Hot Club Trio serenaded us. It was so nice to be able to relax with our guests and leave all the organizing to the planners now that the excitement of the wedding ceremony was behind us.

The food throughout the wedding day was provided by Delicatezze a Casa Vostra Catering Service and was truly marvelous. We had an amazing variety of hor d’ourves when we arrived at the Castello, followed by a scrumptious Wedding dinner. Then there was a delectable dessert buffet, followed by cake and cheese. The food really was top class and our guests are still talking about it.

Valentina went to a lot of trouble to add some personal touches to our wedding day. They set up a beautiful heart made of candles on the lawn in front of the terrace and we had an amazing escort card tree with crystals and ribbons that I was really excited about. The biggest surprise of all was the incredible cake, which was a total surprise and tasted as great as it looked.

After we had danced and ate and drank our fill, we all went out to the terrace and set off 25 paper lanterns into the night sky with our guests.

This felt like the perfect end to a perfect day!

The wedding day began at it best: with an amazing sunshine…
All guests and Robert were very excited and we decided to prepare a surprise for Robert’s mother.
She didn’t know that she would have had the honor and unique pleasure to lead her beloved son at the wedding altar… Her reaction has been so sweet and touching: we were all moved!

Then the magic moment finally arrived.
Robert and his mother came down the stairs hand in hand, passing through best friends and close family.
After few minutes, the radiant bride Samantha and his father appeared at the top the stairs and the ceremony started…
Samantha and Robert exchanged their vows and their rings facing magic view of Lake Como.

The day was perfect for a boat trip on Lake with a pleasant stop in Bellagio to take some pictures and relaxing with an ice cream or cocktail in one of the lovely bars facing the lake.
All the guests enjoyed the beauty of Bellagio and its surroundings.

The reception dinner was held to Villa Cipressi, weather allowed an unforgettable outdoor intimate and delicious dinner. The cake was simply wonderful!
A wedding day is never long enough and it is full of emotions and moments, it always flies away…

Once the location was decided, it could start the teamwork of the Russian and Italian wedding planners. Misha, the head of the Russian wedding planner team, was the creative author of the event, ensuring to respect the Russian traditions very important both for the spouses and the guests. While the Italian team was responsible for the scene, the decorations and the realization of the creative ideas together with our trusted, professional suppliers. After a lot of working hours during the day and night, videoconferences through skype with the spouses, and finally the BIG day has arrived. Actually, it was not just the day itself, but a complete weekend with 3 days program, full of surprises for the guests…

After an exciting and funny treasure hunting in Venice, the wedding party arrived in Desenzano the night before. Followed by a hectic morning with the preparations, the guests arrived In the villa, where a refreshing rich aperitif welcomed them in the loan area, with delicious fingerfood and lot of champagne to admire the scene on comfortable sofas and pillows. Little white fans were offered to the women, to be able to support better the hot temperature. Soft jazz music gave background to the peaceful moment. Then the special wedding guest ( a tradition in Russia) called the guests to join him in front of the stage, decorated with the romantic white huppah and lively red flowers in huge white glass vases.

After the entrance of the Groom and the Bridesmaids, finally Olesya has appeared on the water, in a little fishing boat. A man in a sailor’s striped vest was rowing the boat, then slowed down in front of the guests to allow to everybody the celebrate the Bride’s arrival. Then the boat went to the pier, where Mothers of the groom and the bride met Olesya, holding candles in their hands.

After the romantic ceremony under the huppah, the guests took place at the tables, decorated with a fabulous flower cup in the middle and apples signaling the places of each guests. And this is the point when the wedding started to be very different from the italian weddings: in the breaks between the different plates of the dinner, various entertaining activities ensured that the guests are having fun. They had “fake” waiters turning up as singers with traditional italian songs, a little “group work” to build sketches with objects taken from different nations’ wedding traditions, a creative corner where every guests could create his/her own personalized venetian mask, a caricaturist to make funny drawing of the participants. But the main spectacle was the first dance of the newly wed spouses, who danced a romantic classical ballet piece (as both of them are found of classical ballet, and the Bride practicing also actively this beautiful art).

Obviously, fireworks couldn’t be missing to complete this very special evening, together with a romantic slideshow projection of the photos of Olesya & Fedor in Venice, few days before the wedding. Music and dance closed the event, while the surprise limousine (organized by the groom) didn’t come to take the spouses to their hotel to their first night as husband and wife….

And it still did not finish: the day after a relaxing boat trip was offered to the guests to exploit better lake Garda before leaving our beautiful lakeshores.

It was a real honor for Italian Lakes Wedding Team hosting Tessa Brix wedding. We worked hard to make this happen and to let Tessa and Daniel enjoy their event in every single detail.
Valentina Lombardi – our planner for Lake Maggiore – followed the planning event, Monika Andenmatten followed floral design. Enrico Mocci was the photographer chosen by Tessa and Daniel to be their official photographer for their Big Day.

Wedding was arranged among Stresa, Pallanza and Isola Bella.
Three well known destinations on Lake Maggiore. They were the perfect frame for such a great wedding. A wonderful sunny day was the final touch!

Villa Palazzo Aminta was the headquarter of all the events. It was the place where bride and groom and their guests spent their staying in Italy.
At the right time all guests took a lovely motorboat to reach Villa Rusconi Clerici.

Marriage ceremony was held in the lovely lawn of Villa Rusconi on the lake shores.
Just perfect!

Tessa’s choice for flowers was based on Lisianthus, Freesias and Roses.
White and lilac rose petals were scattered on the aisle in the green garden of Villa Rusconi.
As far as the blessing was concerned Monika Andematten created two high arrangements placed side of the ceremony table.

Tessa’s color scheme was based on lilac and white in different pastel shades.
These fine and elegant colors were also incorporated in Tessa’s elegan bridal bouquet who matched her wedding dress just perfectly.

After the ceremony Tessa and Daniel enjoyed the wonderful day with a short toast to the villa and most of all with a motorboat tour to Borromeo Islands and Isola Bella.

After the pictures it was time to come back to their guests for Tessa and Daniel.
They were all waiting for them to Villa Palazzo Aminta.
While waiting for them they all took the opportunity to change their dresses and suits and have a little swim in the swimming pool of the hotel.
It was a hot day!

Tessa and Daniel took many other pictures in the wonderful rooms of the hotel.
This is one of the most exclusive venues on Lake Maggiore.

After a lovely aperitif in the garden and a perfect dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, some speeches and lots of kisses and moving moments it is time for the wedding cake!

A delicious and beautiful wedding cake was the perfect surprise arranged by Tessa’s mother for bride and groom.

Matteo and Mariana are an Italian-Armenian couple who live and work in London. Matteo is originally from Torino and he is just like every good boy coming from Piemonte, he is in love with his own homeland. Over time, Mariana was infected with this love as well, and thus their decision to choose one of the most charming places in Piedmont for their wedding: the Lake Orta.

Fun and joy are two words which perfectly describe Mariana and Matteo’s wedding. You will certainly see that in the photos accompanying this post: pictures that tell of their friend’s feast and fun, the first pranks of marriage, the couple’s happiness after the ceremony… emotions and feelings captured by Maren Ollmann’s lens from the Photography Studio Ollmann/Ottaviano in Torino. Mariana and Matteo’s wedding on the Lake Orta took place in 3 venues: Hotel Villa Crespi, where the bride and groom and their relatives stayed, the Church, Sacro Monte di Orta, where the religious ceremony took place, and finally Villa Ortea, where the wedding reception continued till the early lights of dawn.

For their stay in Orta and their first wedding night, Mariana e Matteo chose the Executive Suite in Hotel Villa Crespi. It was a fantastic room overlooking the lake with XVIII century furniture, a refined marble bathroom with a hydromassage and a magnificent four poster bed.

The religious ceremony, a mixed catholic-orthodox service, was celebrated in the beautiful church of Sacro Monte in Orta. As the flower designer I was in charge of the floral arrangements, which I created with the precious assistance of my colleague, Manuela.
The entire design, begun with bride’s bouquet. It was based on large Lilium Longiflorum and various types of greenery, in particular Aspidistra and Bear Grass.

When the religious ceremony ended, bride and groom left the church in a bright red Fiat 500 from the 60s. While driving the legendary Italian car, Mariana and Matteo reached lake shores for the must-have, keepsake photos. Then they kept on driving to Villa Ortea, where their guests were waiting for them.

Villa Ortea is certainly one of the most beautiful settings on Lake Orta. It is surrounded by a wide park it has a fantastic view of the lake. A warm summer evening helped organize the reception in the garden. Special retro-lit tables were decorated with candelabras that Manuela and I had covered with various greenery, white rose buds and large slices of old movie film.

CINEMA, in fact, was for Mariana and Matteo’s wedding theme. Wedding soundtrack was made up by music and actors’ voices by famous films from the past, just like like Gone with the Wind, On the Waterfront, and the Dolce Vita by Federico Fellini.

On the tables, in addition to the candelabras and old movie film, there were glass table mats imprinted with a famous picture of Charlie Chaplin. A magnificent, gigantic table chart displayed photos of the guests as if they were pictures from an old film.

An original and truly amusing idea for one of the most enjoyable weddings I have worked for in 2009.
