For this reason they decided to have a little pre wedding photography service, just the two of them to live and explore the little romantic and charming corners of Orta village!
They simply took a walk with their friend Fwad Afzal Photographer in Orta village and got magic pictures that they will never forget!

Niamh and Stephen got married the day after, our last wedding of 2011 summer season.
Niamh was simply beautiful in her romantic dress and have a look to the four bridesmaids too in ivory beige long dresses!
The dresses matched perfectly the color of the flowers Niamh chose for them, ivory cream roses and gerberas created by La Piccola Selva with the other floral arrangements of the day.

Civil Ceremony was held in Villa Bossi, Orta town hall and Niamh and Stepehen were so lucky to have a wonderful weather and many guests present to this special day, about 100 guests!

After a little walk in the little roads of Orta with some drinks for guests and some more fun pictures in the village the whole group took the boats to take a lovely trip on the Lake and then reached the restaurant on St. Julius Island.

In our older posts we showed smaller parties to this rustic restaurant by the shores but the wide terrace can fit up to 100-120 guests and this is what happened for Niamh and Stepen’s wedding!

A great dinner and party to follow with a huge chocolate cake too!

Our couple took also the chance to have a lovely walk on the Island to have some other great shots in this quiet and special place: St. Julius Island.

Barry and Novi are two lovely guys coming from Indonesia and living in Netherlands.
They wanted a very intimate and romantic setting for their winter wedding…. or better for their Christmas Wedding as they got married on December 18th!
They chose Lakes districts!
Some may think that lakes in winter could be less beautiful than in warm moths but for those who love intimate romantic and solitary spots they could be the prefect choice.

Berry and Novi wanted an intimate event so they invited only their parents and Novi’s sister.
They decided to stay in Orta for the getting ready and celebratory meal.
But for their religious ceremony they opted for a very special spot Sacro Monte of Ghiffa on Lake Maggiore.

After Novi got ready in her stunning dress with white fur on her shoulder we all reached Sacred Monte of Ghiffa.
On a sunny winter day the sky on the lake can be clear like crystal and landscape just unique the perfect frame for wedding pictures.

An intimate catholic ceremony was held inside the beautiful church with stunning frescos on the ceilings and a lovely sunset outside waiting for bride and groom.

A little touch of modernity in this wonderful historical and natural context!

After some pictures overlooking Lake Maggiore we drove back to Lake Orta for some other pictures by night in the little village of Orta.
Despite the cold weather Novi and Barry really wanted to have some shots in the village decorated for Christmas with romantic Christmas lights!
Have you ever seen Orta at Christmas? It is so romantic!

For their celebratory meal Barry and Novi choose L’Ustaria Ca dal Rat.
The warm rooms of the restaurant welcome them. With the en lit fireplace, wooden beams on the ceiling and warm atmosphere we can say that that was a perfect choice!

Novi and Barry chose Independent Pictures for their photograph service and they did a great job.. they took the perfect Christmas feeling in their shots!

Verona is the synonym of Romeo and Juliet’s romantic idyll.

To Matteo and Martina it all seemed natural choosing the elegance of this noble city for their ceremony and the relaxed and joyful frame of Lake Garda for the reception.

This is to combine two different souls and we are sure you will love both of them.

Martina’s grace illuminated everything, as well as her wonderful smile!

Her long white dress, her hair softly gathered by impalpable white flowers and only a pretty bow on shoes… Final preparations for the bride and everything is ready.

Every detail in Matteo and Martiana’s Wedding reveals elegance and simplicity, expertly captured by our photographer Beatrice Mancini. The ceremony was held in Duomo Baptistery in Verona, a setting of rare elegance and sobriety, white candles down the aisle and a delicate bouquet of Gypsophila.

A young flower girl with a small bouquet, similar to bride’s one, preceded Martina on her walk down the white aisle while the antique stones and ancient coats of arms were witnesses to this romantic moment.

This is one of the most beautiful churches in Verona which was built on the ruins of an early Christian basilica. It was totally rebuilt in the XII century in Romanesque style preserving the location between the Cathedral and the bishop’s palace, both some of most beautiful Verona’s buildings. A really magical frame for a catholic ceremony.

After the intimate ceremony, nothing could be better than a vintage car to get to an old Locanda on Lake Garda to continue the celebration with all the guests! The ancient streets of Verona, the castle, the squares and rolling hills … the scenery along the way to the lake is full of unique and unforgettable views and asks to stop for a few shots right in Italian style.

Reception venue has a quiet and pleasant atmosphere which allowed to the newlyweds enjoying a cool summer evening on the lake with relatives and friends. This old Locanda offers also colourful and charming rooms to extend the celebrations for a holiday staying or romantic honeymoon on the lake. Wide open spaces, informal atmosphere and background music made the Matteo and Martina’s reception a lovely evening!

Between speeches, good food and relaxing moments around the pool the evening flew away as lightly as a butterfly…

To celebrate their wedding anniversary, her husband John wanted to give her this dream.
We contacted the photographer Alessandro Zingone, that the bride loved because of his cinematic view and we started from Stresa station, Lake Maggiore, to reach Zermatt, Switzerland.

In the early morning we met at the beginning of the…. Laverne was in her beautiful white wedding dress and John in an’ elegant dark suit and we reached the top of the Matterhorn.

Once arrived, the landscape we have found was absolutely spectacular. The first pictures were taken inside the glacier palace inside that you can reach walking through an ice tunnel, that Is almost fifteen meters below the surface of the glacier in an almost unnatural environment, immersed by wonderful play of colors, lights and ethereal sounds.

Leaving the palace, we got on the ski slopes, and Laverne finally reached the snow.
We took great photos, surrounded by snow and skiers who looked puzzled and amused.

But there’s more, down to the valley, we took the car and flew to Stresa on Lake Maggiore, sudden change of temperature and environment, hedged by water for few shots.

In the evening we were really tired, but happy to have contributed to realize a dream.

It was a very special wedding.
First of all because of the date: the same of Kate and William’s wedding, and then for the venues they chose for their staying!

The newlywed, in fact, spent their holiday and got ready in Villa d’Este.
A really exclusive and relaxing place to spend your time while waiting the fateful moment to come!

The ceremony and the wedding reception took place in a magnificent private villa in Cernobbio, that was decorated in a superb way for the occasion.
The big terrace overlooking Lake Como, was covered by real grass and wonderful floral decorations, with a big huppah in the center, full of white flowers and candles.

Guests were welcome by an unusual cocktail before the ceremony. An original way to host friends and relatives waiting for the bride to come.

And then “the moment” came. The bride, beautiful in her precious vintage dress of a famous designer, arrived to say “I will” to her thrilled groom.

After the ceremony the wedding reception took place in an elegant gala marquee.
Here, after happy games and dancing guided by international deejays, the newlyweds and their guests could enjoy a very exclusive show: the famous singer In-grid sang only for them, in order to make the atmosphere even happier and festive.

And finally, gorgeous fireworks sparkled in the sky to celebrate this day and illuminate the coming of a wonderful four-tiered wedding cake.

What else could ask a bride to make her marriage absolutely unforgettable?

Leigh was surely one of the most precise bride I had this year as far as decoration and flowers are concerned. She wanted to add a touch of charm to a venue that is very pretty by itself: the restaurant on St. Julius Island!

But let’s start from the beginning.
Leigh and Alex a lovely British couple, fell in love with Lake Orta last year in occasion of their visit to find the right venue for their wedding. The started with Lake Maggiore but as soon as they reached Lake Orta thought it was simply perfect.
Leigh loved the little restaurant on St. Julius Island for its intimacy and cosiness so the choice was easy!

They opted for a civil ceremony to Villa Bossi.
Bride arrived with the rowing boat but also the bridesmaids did! Isn’t it a great idea?

A lovely boat tour with their guests to follow and amazing pictures around the little Island to complete the ceremony!
Andrea and Francesco from Independent Pictures were their official photographers and they did a very good job indeed.

Leigh wanted a full laces dress that was really amazing and for sure very Italian style. Alex was also very handsome in his gray suit!

When we started talking about flowers the choice started with peonies but not being seasonal Leigh opted for something even more elegant: Orchids!
Paola and Monika from La Piccola Selva did a very good job indeed!
They used two kind of orchids: Phalaenopsis for the bouquet of the bride and Dendrobium for the decorations to the restaurant and it was a prefect match!

In these pictures you can see the wonderful effect we achieved to St.Julius Restaurant.
Flowers decorations were amazing! Paola and Monika created a long garland running all along the U shaped table.
The garland was made of dendrobium orchids, cream roses and lot of greenery, it wrapped the silver 5-armed-candelabras and some others scattered on the table creating a romantic and charming effect!
All guests were amazed!

The final touch were some lovely rounded lanterns hanged on the draped celing of the terrace, they seemed little moons placed there for Leigh and Alex!
There was some more….the terrace was en lit by some special amber light projector that enhanced the effects of the candles all over the venue.

Lot of dances and fun closed a wonderful day on Lake Orta that I’m sure Leigh and Alex and their guests will remember forever, like us!

Young photographer from Novara followed Claudia and Simone photo service and with his great style he created a fresh, bright and spontaneous work!

After the ceremony held in Santa Maria Assunta – Carpignano Sesia close to Novara, bride and groom and their guests reached Villa Ortea where a rich buffet on the terrace was waiting for them.

Just a little time with their guests for a little aperitif and then Claudia and Simone took some time for themselves on a motorboat for an amazing tour on the lake. Photographer and videomaker were with them.

The day was sunny and bright as a day of end of the Spring on the Lake could be. Claudia and Simone had some joyful relax that Leandro Biasco took in his pictures perfectly!

At their arrival back to Villa Ortea all their guests were waiting for them in the feast room that can host up to 250 guests. A unique place on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.

Lilac was the color that Claudia chose for her wedding. It matched perfectly the walls of Villa Orta feast room.
Table chart has been made with white branches and little lilac tags with names of the tables an guests.

All tables had lilac table clothes and napkins and had on amazing elegant centerpieces.
Cake cut has been arranged on the terrace overlooking the lake with a great choreography in lilac and white.

Villa Orta has a wonderful park that surrounds it. It is the perfect scenery for other wedding pictures. It has lots of different species of plants and a romantic waterfall in the rocks.

The party ended with music, dances and Limbo and Caribbean dances.
It was such a great fun dancing the Limbo passing under the beam without falling or touching it!

Even if fuchsia and orange are two very different colors if you match them in the right context they could made up an absolutely different and beautiful scheme that could be so fun for your wedding!
In order to recall Summer nothing is better than bright colors such as fuchsia and orange. These colors could be the perfect frame for a natural wedding in a garden, on a beach or just by the lake shores like Sonja and Allard did.

Sonja and Allard ara another lovely couple coming from Holland who chose Lake Orta for their wedding in italy. Do you remember about Desire and Sander and they sweet balloons themed wedding? Or do you recall about Danielle and Silvain the groom with the top hat?

Choice for colors was not accidental. Orange is the color which represent Holland, Prince of Orange and National Football Team, soccer players are called Oranges (Oranje in Dutch).

Sonja contacted me via email a couple of months before the wedding and she had very precise ideas on her colors scheme. As floral designer my task was advising Sonja about the most suitable flowers to use considering that the couple had not a huge budget.

The month before the wedding I personally met Sonja and Allard and I was touched by their kindness and simplicity. After defining some details the choice for flowers went on fuchsia rose and gerberas, little button flowers of Craspedia and orange Solidago.

For the table of the ceremony we opted for a glass cube full of oranges (Sicily Oranges) and fuchsia gerberas with a bright orange table cloth underneath!

Sonja wanted to be different as far her wedding dress was concerned too! She chose an aquamarine color dress. It was an informal but still elegant wedding dress that perfectly matched the bright and happy theme of her wedding.

Civil ceremony was held in the garden of Villa Bossi in a wonderful sunny day of the beginning of the summer with many orange and fuchsia balloons.
Bride and groom decide to brake the tradition once again! Rather than making the groom waiting for the bride side of the ceremony table, bride and groom decided to arrive together with a rowing boat. Such a great idea!

After manu pictures in medieval Orta villae bride and groom had a lovely boat tour on the lake up to St Julius Island. Once on the Island Sonja and Allard decide to visit San Julius Abbey and its wonderful piece of Art the “Ambone” the most precious item on Lake Orta. They they moved to their happy and fun reception on the Island.

Wonderful Anne is French from Paris and handsome Alan is from Ireland. They live in Ireland and they choose Orta for their special day because of its romanticism quaintness! In these two years Anne had a lovely baby boy and elder sister Mina grew up to be a wonderful flower girl together with other Anne’s girls.

During these months Anne studied all little details of the wedding focusing her attention side of the venue and other important issues, to her girls dresses, wedding dress, flowers and stationery.
Wonderful wedding stationery was studied and made by herself keeping in mind dreamy vintage Alice in Wonderland style.

Have a look to little sugared almonds favors box with Eat Me written on, to the menus and to the cake topper and to the names cards. Aren’t they just oneiric, vintage and natural? They perfectly match the location which is natural, romantic quaint and blooming.

But let’s have a look to Anne’s amazing wedding dress. We know that a wedding dress could be one of the most important detail for a bride. A bride could spend months finding the right one or it could be love at first sight just like for Anne was. The wedding dress perfectly matched her style. Anne chose famous Claire Pettibone as her stylist for the dress of her dreams.

They both had a lovely religious ceremony to Assunta Church in Orta and then a charming reception to San Rocco Hotel.

Soo’s idea of the perfect wedding was a very simple and romantic event. She chose a romantic big wedding dress in white with a happy sunflower decoration for the church and reception.

The only exception was her cascade bridal bouquet designed by Monika Andenmatten from La Piccola Selva. This bouquet is actually in La Piccola Selva web site gallery. Soo had a look at it and fell in love with it so she wanted it for her wedding.

Soo is a Chinese-British violinist living in Australia with Jason. Since her passion for classical music she wanted a ceremony and reception totally accompanied by the sound of a classical string trio.
The reception ended with some more classical and jazz music played to the wonderful long piano in San Rocco hotel. The only exception was Soo and Jason’s first dance: Undisclosed Desire by Muse. But we know Muse’s music has a lot of violins in their backgrounds!

Soo really wanted a classical and romantic dream have a look to her wedding photos – by Independent Pictures.
Aren’t they just a sweet dream?

Lisa and Emmett had the same wedding scheme but a totally different attitude towards the event.
Lisa has a big and happy family with brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. They are all coming from Ireland and they arrived here to spend a wonderful vacation o the Lake.

The ceremony involved all family: bride’s nieces sang a psalm, father of the bride sang a hymn and Lisa and Emmett little daughter sat between them all ceremony long!

After this moving ceremony the joy exploded!
The complete family went to the Island for family pictures….not only the bride and groom but all of them!

Happily reception was held to Hotel San Rocco where Ezio Lucchini entertained the aperitif with a joyful guitar background.

But the party did not end there!
After dinner the whole group moved to a local beer factory to drink home made beers, dance and party until 4am!!
