Spring is almost here and a new long wedding season is going to begin soon on Italian Lakes.
Before all will start again we would like to have a look to the best moment of past season.
To do it we selected 36 pictures that tells you about our 2009 weddings.

Each image we selected tells a story and emotion a great lived moment. Most of all each shot has been take thanks to great experience and skill of all photographer who worked with Italian Lakes Wedding during 2009.

Which is the best one among all 36?
We deiced to ask bride and groom directly! Starting from tomorrow we will put on line the Wedding Poll Shot of the Year 2009. You can vote your favorite photos.
You could do it with a password that will be sent to all bride and groom who choose Italian Lakes Wedding Team services during 2009 or just booked for 2010 or following… someone is already working for their 2012 wedding!

The ones that are reading us noticed that we’ve just add a new feature to our blog: Ask The Expert. This is actually not a reallly new feature because the section was already included in our main website. Talking about the wedding moment

In German there is a wonderful word for wedding, Hochzeit which means “peak time” as the moment two people vow to intertwine their lives ideally should be.
Wedding is one of the fateful moments in life, one of the decisive moments in which you align yourself to someone and start working the switches of destiny together.
It is one of the sacred moments in life where we are on an emotional high and receptive to the bigger picture our soul unfolds in front of us.

This moment merits to have the most positive and intensive soul companion what music always had been, music that touches us deeply and makes the cords of our souls swing in the sweetest way.
It is a very personal matter that can differ from “You are the one that I love” (musical Grease) to “Nessun dorma” from Puccini (Turandot).

The photographer of smiling brides

Regarding the order in time, Alessandro Balossi is the last photographer entered in the Italian Lakes Wedding team. Although personally I know him very well – as i had the opportunity to work with him for numerous weddings , for the occasion of his official presentation I’ve asked him to write few words about himself.
I supposed that it’s a “mission impossible” being Alessandro a quite shy and reserved guy… In fact, it wasn’t easy, but at the end he could manage to give me a short text, that – I think – describes perfectly his personality and the way of interpreting the world of wedding photography.

Here is a short extract:
“I love the images of the smiling brides, shot spontaneously at the moment, catching the real happiness of that day without any pretence in rigid poses and fake expressions of the face. I like to give a dynamic cut to the photos of my weddings, inspired by the most actual fashion images.
I love to catch details and moments to create a real reportage of that very unique and special day.
Above of all, I like to “stop” in time those particular expressions and situations that are lived absent-mindly on the big day amongst all the emotions, so I can show and revive them again with the bride and groom in my studio later on”.

In fact, this is absolutely true: Alessandro Balossi is the photographer of the smiling brides!
It’s enough to see his photo gallery to understand this. But what strikes the most, is the absolute spontaneity and naturalness of the photos, despite the fact that majority of them shows portraiture images.
Alessandro in fact was “grown” as fashion photographer and has a consolidated long experience behind: this for sure helped a lot his carrier as a wedding photographer.
The portraits of his brides and grooms seems really natural, without any camouflage like if they would have been seized upon.

The trick of Alessandro is simple: all is based on his relaxed and calm approach as he works, like in front of the fashion models making feel the brides very special and at ease.
His enchanting, almost tender way of acting has the power to create a kind of complicity between the bride and the photographer: this translates then in joyful, but natural expressions, with freedom and spontaneity. From this point of view, my opinion is that Alessandro Balossi is one of the best portraiture style wedding photographer of the Italian Lakes area.

Wedding in Malcesine: like a King and Queen

Malcesine, is an ancient town part of Veneto Region and very close to Trentino Alto Adige.This beautiful place with its 3400 lucky residents, lies directly on the oriental side of Lake Garda with a breathtaking view and it develops around the majestic Scaliger Castle and the historical Palace of the Captains.
All the area has perfectly preserved its ancient and medieval origins. The Castle was probably built before 500 AD, destroyed on 509AD and again rebuilt.
His actual name of Scaliger Castle (Castello Scaligeri) was given around 1387 and on 1902 this incredible construction was declared National Monument.
The fact that the Castle is a property of the Town Hall, it’s a great opportunity for all the couples who desire to get married in Malcesine!

For sure this is one of the few locations on the Lakesides that allow the celebration of civil recognized ceremonies in such a suggestive way, facing the lake on the ancient and fabulous terrace.
But no worries in case of bad weather: adjacent to the terrace there are beautiful rooms with big windows where wedding ceremony can be alternatively celebrated.

Another rare chance of Malcesine Castle, is due to the possibility of having a buffet after the civil ceremony directly there on the terrace or in one room inside in a medieval and refined atmosphere to toast with your family and friends! Bellagio: the Pearl of Como Lake since 19th century

Bellagio lies directly on Como Lake and is crossed by a main street called via Garibaldi, which is criss-crossed by suggestive lanes which run up and down the hillside to the lake.
The most famous is called Salita Serbelloni. Here, a plaque marks the long stay of the musician Franz Liszt.
This romantic landscape it’s the perfect frame for your dreaming wedding day.
Bellagio, famous for the magnificent villas is one of the most refined location for your special event. It’s not easy to find so magical venues preserved as they were still in their maximum splendor period. And this area it’s particularly rich of villas rentable for weddings and unique occasions. The typical italian gardens of the Villas will impress your guests and the pictures of your wedding day will be simply astonishing.

The touristic fame of Bellagio started in 19th century, when the Duke Melzi decided to build here his magnificent summer house.
This episode, attracted the Milanese aristocracy to the area and Bellagio became the most elegant and refined of courts.
Villas, gardens and several hotels which to this day are still the pride of the town and a major attraction for visitors, were built within a few years.
These palaces were visited and lived in by many famous names of the period, artists, politicians, royalty, intellectuals and scientists as well as various heroes of our Risorgimento.

Have your wedding with a wonderful view

The Sacro Monte Church, Orta San Giulio – Photo by Giorgio Gnemmi – Artefoto Omegna

In my function as soprano singer I happened to sing at numerous wedding ceremonies in England, Germany, Portugal, Hungary and naturally in Italy.
For me it is difficult to say which place I liked the most. Every church and each ceremony has its own fascination and is unique. But amongst all, the one that has impressed me most has been the Sacro Monte Church in Orta. View more images here.
Certainly not for its rich and sophisticated decorations but quite the contrary: built in the 15th century in honor of San Francesco d’Assisi this church is held deliberately poor, constructed with “poor” materials following the Saint’s indications to accentuate the virtues of poverty and humility. Within the following centuries the church has been enriched with valuable frescos and other art pieces which make it so suggestive today.
But, what always has fascinated me most at that church is the fantastic landscape it is embedded in: the “sagrato” is a remarkable balcony that faces the lake showing a panorama without comparison. The view extended above the old terracotta roofs of the old village Orta San Giulio and the blue of the lake in which the picturesque San Giulio Island is rising in the distance with its famous Basilica.
At the opposite shore, on the top of an immense white granite rock sticks out the Sanctuary Madonna del Sasso. In the distance on the horizon you can see the crest of the Monte Rosa always covered with show, even in summer.
Furthermore, the church is located amid the nature reserve of Sacro Monte di Orta, a majestic forest full of centenarian trees. Between the 15th and 16th century 21 chapels have been built here, all of them dedicated to San Franceso’s life and work. Inside these chapels 376 statuettes and about ten frescos can be found ,all well conserved.
If you are searching a beautiful church for your wedding in Italy you should take into serious consideration the church of Sacro Monte in Orta. This place will certainly take by surprise you and all your wedding guests.
But bear in mind that the church of Sacro Monte is a very requested venue, especially by Italian couples.
For that reason an early reservation of some months is advised.

Floral arrangements at Castello di Miasino

Among the wedding venues of the Italian Lake District the Castello di Miasino (Miasino’s Castle) is one of the most well known and requested ones by Italian couples. Some of the reasons might be its panoramic position (with a view to one of the arms of lake Orta), its parking facilities for guests and the possibility to celebrate your wedding with a civil ceremony.

Being a highly attended venue I often happened to work there in my function as floral designer. Visiting my website www.lapiccolaselva.it you can easily find a whole section dedicated to my floral arrangements at Castello di Miasino with hundreds of photographs. My decor proposals are ranging from centre table ones to the big staircase leading to the upper apartments and finally to the hall where the wedding ceremonies are celebrated with civil rite. Please also have a look into the garden where my floral compositions might beautify your reception buffet , not forgetting the entrance area of the Castle with the statue of Santa Sofia. To her feet I would advise a creation consisting of flowers, ferns and rose petals.
