Today we would like to show you the very first pictures of Donna and Mark’s wedding on Madonna del Sasso.
The church of Madonna del Sasso is very famous for the extraordinary view that you can enjoy from the courtyard in front of the church itself.
The bride and groom choose a symbolic blessing outdoor just on the edge of the rock of Madonna del Sasso with a stunning and romantic view on all Lake Orta and St. Julius Island.
A lovely, moving and sweet ceremony conducted by our celebrant Giuseppe.

Have a look to the vintage car Donna and Mark used to reach Madonna del Sasso. It is a vintage Lancia Appia of the 60s.
A charming touch was also the bridal bouquet with pink peonies, white roses and a delicate touch of blue (something blue just as the tradition!) of lavander and hydrangeas.

A special thank to Enrico Mocci photographer who released the pictures for Donna and Mark’s wedding in a very short time! We will come back soon talking again about this romantic American couple who choose the amazing panormas of Lake Orta for their intimate Italian wedding!

Performing in Lago Maggiore never fails to be an unforgettable experience and Lake Orta in particular commands a special place in our affections.

Siobhan and Stuart will forever feel the same, bound by the emotional experience of their early Spring ceremony, which was held in the perfectly manicured gardens of the charming Villa Bossi. It is the seat of the Comune in Orta and therefore famous for holding legally binding Civil Weddings in the area.

Lake Orta appears to be a particular favourite of couples who appreciate unique northern Italian lakeside charm and who are obviously seduced by its mystical powers and religious history. The area is famed for its spiritual tranquility and previously named after its fourth century Patron, Saint Julius.

The intimate wedding party was comprised mainly of guests hailing from Scotland, enjoying a well earned break from recently insistent Scottish rain. A tiny tot sported a most becoming tartan kilt and spencer, very nearly stealing the show!

There is no more romantic arrival of a bride than by boat and Siobhan arrived as not only a stunning ‘sposa’ but a true Lady of the Lake, escourted down an open air aisle adorned with colourful rose petals, towards the 16th century facade of Villa Bossi, boasting an attractive loggia with a beautifully frescoed ceiling. As the administrator for Italian Lakes Wedding it is rare that I have the opportunity to meet our brides and grooms ‘to be’ in person. Face to face meetings are usually the perogative of the wedding planner, floral designers, photographers and other professionals involved with the wedding day itself. I was fortunate enough to have met Lina quite by chance during Melanie and David’s ceremony at Villa Rusconi. In my modest opinion Lina and Borja’s wedding at Lake Maggiore was indeed the event of the year, making July 17th 2010 a memorable date!

Lina is a young girl of Chinese origin but 100% Italian. Born and raised in Verbania, she has travelled extensively including Japan, China and The United States before choosing to live with Borja in Spain. What struck me most about Lina was her great enthusiasm and profound affection for her home town and the surrounding area of Lago Maggiore. This played a huge part in her decision to select Verbania as the destination of her wedding day, also because it was an opportuntity to share her love of the area with guests, in order that they too could experience the pleasure of discovering the extraordinary beauty of this area.
Her emotional attachment transformed Lina into a kind of honourary Ambassador for Lake Maggiore, at least for a day!

Lina and Borja’s wedding was indeed a fantastic blend of different cultures and traditions: more than 200 guests coming especially from all over the world attended, notably those from Spain, America, Japan, Italy and China (some of whom are also residents of Italy).

We felt extremely fortunate about how things turned out and had decided that it would be wonderful to marry in my home town, especially because we will spend most of our time in Madrid.
For me Verbania is the place in which I was born as well as a beautiful location. I feel so proud to have been able to share this wonderful place with others who have never visited and perhaps didn’t even know about its existence. All of our friends from elsewhere were very impressed by what they saw and by all the close attention to detail.

Great attention to detail was definitely a main feature of Lina and Borja’s wedding. Nothing was left to chance… from the wedding decorations for the ceremony and dinner, the video set up complete with steady cam and crane, to the flower arrangements, music and above all… the bride’s especially designed wedding dress and groom’s unique apparel.

My wedding dress was designed by Rosario Diaz, a stylist from Madrid. Rosario Diaz is an expert in designing and creating individual wedding dresses. We chose Rosario because he exclusively designed a wedding dress for Borja’s sister.
The hunt for my own dress started with other ateliers but none of them convinced me completely. Rosario showed us various kinds of fabric that had just arrived and I completely fell in love with material with a floral motif and ‘shredded’ effect made by laser that became the base of the gown. Two lovely weddings on our lakes today! Melanie and David on Lake Maggiore, and Vanda and Tony on Lake Orta.

On Lake Maggiore Melanie and David came from United Kingdom and US to get married to Villa Rusconi in Pallanza.
Lovely ceremony was performed by our celebrants Giuseppe and Diane.

They wanted a very Italian style decoration made up with sunflowers, lemons and greenery.
A very country side setting for a beautiful wedding on the shores!

On the 21st of October 2009, Sandra and John get married at Villa D’Este.
Their story is very romantic and the atmosphere that rainy day brought to their special day was magical and incredibly touching. We were all excited and the time went so fast!

The ceremony was originally organized outdoor, but because of bad weather, it was moved inside the beautiful Column Room.
While Sandra was getting ready, all of us were waiting in the room welcoming the guests and John, the groom.

He reached the altar accompanied by the music of great song La vita è bella.
The florist made an incredible job, we were all astonished…

Finally Sandra appeared, she was beautiful and radiant as John’s son who had the honor to lead her to his father.

Thanks to the great job of our lovely celebrants celebrants Diane and Giuseppe, the whole ceremony was touching and real, and the newlyweds were very happy and surprised!

After the ceremony Sandra, John and their guests had a long walk inside the Hotel to take unforgettable pictures, before coming back to the room for a delicious reception dinner. Continue Reading »

Villa Rusconi in Pallanza, is a beautiful setting by any standards for a Blessing Celebration. The famous and stunning Lago Maggiore glistened in the warmth of an exceptionally strong September sun on the day, much to the delight of the wedding party from England, who had been suffering from a washed out summer!

Nicky and Chris appeared perfectly matched bright young things. The groom had previously written to us, describing his bride as a typically English Rose and when Nicky arrived by boat to greet an eager crowd our first impression was just that. Tall, slim and blonde, Nicky looked stunning in a simple but elegant dress worthy of a film star… talking of which, the groom reminded us of a younger dashing English actor named Charles Dance!

An expert guitarist performed the Wedding March and the ceremony was beautifully punctuated by an original poem composed and recited by Amy, a dear friend of the happy couple. The weather was beautiful, the grounds of the Villa absolutely gorgeous and the guests elegantly attired. A curious Italian boat crew waved and cheered ‘Auguri’ (an Italian wish for happiness.)
