June has arrived and long wedding season on Lake Orta officially begun.
I would like to go back for while speaking about Daniela and Giuseppe our Italian couple who opened wedding season on 6rd of March 2010.
It was the first wedding of 2010 for us as florist but also for Villa Bossi Orta town hall and St. Julius Restaurant the venue the couple chose for their wedding reception.

March is such a perfect day for a romantic wedding in Orta San Giulio. Village is not crowded by tourists yet and enchanted intimacy make it a different world.
Do not forget that March could also have wonderful sunny days!

At first sight it could seem curious but Giuseppe and Daniela live close to Como. But they actually chose Lake Orta.
We would like to let them speak about that:
We chose Lake Orta even if we live close to Como. This because it quiet, romantic and more intimate. Walking in the narrow roads of Orta Village seems to live again ancient times experiencing unique atmospheres. They are just perfect for a wedding. We were more than happy of our choice.
From Como to Orta for a romantic wedding: a simple choice. Continue Reading »

Here is the story of a wedding organized in few days.
Emma and Jarrod contacted us the 30th of December during their vacation all over Europe.
They are a very young couple (23 and 26 years old), both from Australia, that during their trip, decided, all in a sudden that they desired to get married in Italy before returning to their own country.

The period was not really the best one to be chosen, firstly because it was between Christmas and New year’s Eve, and almost everybody here in Italy was on vacation, then because the temperature was quiet cold, even here in Rome, the so called sunny city!
Anyway, Emma and Jarrod decided to get married in Bracciano, by the lake and under the famous Odescalchi castle.

For their pictures, they have chosen Alessandro Zingone, www.zingonereportage.it one of the few members in Lazio of WPJA ( wedding photojournalist associacion).

Their first idea, was to have a romantic ceremony for two but when we started collecting documents, the family understood that a wedding was going to be celebrated and they quickly decided to take an airplane and fly to Italy.
The ceremony has been celebrated in the sober and elegant town hall, located in an ancient palace in the main piazza, right beside the castle. Continue Reading »

Joanne and Justin are a sweet couple coming from South Wales, UK.
For their wedding Joanne and Justin chose wonderful mediterranean landscapes of Lake Garda.

Civil Ceremony was held in one of the lovely rooms of Torri del Benaco Castle while for their reception they opted for Bardolino town.
Bardolino is one of the most quaint villages on Lake Garda. It is famous for their vines yards and of course Bardolino wine a precious red wine.

Ceremony was planned to be on the tower of Torri del Benaco castle but it was held in one of the room because of a little shower.
Right after the ceremony gray clouds went away to let a wonderful sun coming out, like in a fairy tale the sky was simply amazing.

Joanne and Justin had the possibility to have stunning pictures on lakeside promenade and in the ancient little road old Torri del Benaco village.

Estella and Diego of Photo27 Studio in Milan were the photographers for Italian Lakes Wedding Team. Continue Reading »

Lake Iseo is located in Lombardy region and precisely between its famous brothers Lake Como and Garda. The lake is close to the towns of Brescia and Bergamo which both have airports, that makes the lake logistically very easy to reach.

Less known, this wonderful water mirror and its surroundings, is a special place just like the other bigger Lakes. The scenery is very romantic and it is a perfect spot for an unusual and traditional Italian style wedding during any season.

The surrounding area, called Franciacorta, is well known by wine “connaisseurs”, as it is one of the most important wine region of North-Italy. The charming vineyards, with rustic buildings and old mansion houses renovated with the most modern comforts, recalls countryside feeling.
Here you can arrange for your guests, genuine wine tasting programs and actively participate in wine producing process making at the end the actual bottle really yours! If your wish is a vineyard wedding mixed up with a lovely boat excursion on the lake, this is the perfect choice!

Lake Iseo is a wonderful spot on every season and not only during summer. Since there is an inhabited island in the lake, there are passengers ferries operating all-year.
You will taste here great local lake fish skillfully prepared by restaurants all around the shores. You will surely enjoy a gourmand stay!

The area offers also a lovely mountain landscape and woods of chestnuts and olives. Continue Reading »

I really can say that the wedding planner job is never boring.
One of the things I really adore the most is discovering the best locations where organizing our beloved special and unique events.
Lake Garda is very vast and plenty of Hotels and reception venues, but this Lake is always interesting and ‘in ferment’.

One of the most famous area is Gardone Riviera where tourists come from all over the world to visit Il Vittoriale (ancient complex of houses, museums, gardens and theaters built from Gabriele D’Annunzio, who lived there, together with the architect Maroni) and the fascinating surroundings.
Gardone Riviera is located on the west side of Garda Lake and close to the well-known Salo’ Town. This small lovely village is one of the few where both civil and religious ceremonies can be celebrated.
In fact, the general rule of Lake Garda Churches is that non – resident couples aren’t allowed to get married here.
So this place has a huge privilege. Its Church is romantic and lake view and its Town Hall located in the center is also charming and classy: can hosts up to 70 guests.

In case your desire is having a personalized and symbolic ceremony, I’m happy to tell you that this can be celebrated directly in the wonderful gardens of the fabulous location I’m going to introduce you today: Grand Hotel Fasano.

This luxurious hotel is immersed in a romantic scenery of water and hills.
Originally, this building was one of the hunting lodges of the Austrian imperial family: the “faisanderie”.
The hotel beauty and lake view is astonishing and completed by a 12.000 sq. meters private park all around. A perfect set for an extremely chic wedding. Continue Reading »

Silvia, the bride. Giorgio, the groom. Angela, their pretty daughter.
They are the main characters of an intimate wedding on Lake Orta.

Silvia and Giorgio both come from Rome.
For their civil ceremony they were looking for a romantic and intimate destination to celebrate this special day. What’s better than Lake Orta?

A wonderful idea. Lake Orta gave to this lovely couple a great Spring day, warm and sunny.
They choose for a week day ceremony so atmosphere was even more intimate and cosy.
During week days village of Orta is very quiet and relaxing with very few tourists.
Very different from week ends on July and August which are much more busy!

As floral designer I had to create bridal bouquet, buttonhole and ceremony floral arrangements.
Enrico Mocci of ArteFotoArona, a wedding photographer specialized on Orta weddings, and with many years of experience, was the photographer of the day.

For their Orta staying Giorgio and Silvia choose the best: Hotel Villa Crespi.
Villa rooms are just enchanting and they were the perfect frame for stunning pictures.
You can see the bride and the bouquet I created for her. It was made of a long and wonderful fall of Phalaenopsis orchids.

Civil ceremony was held to Villa Bossi, Orta San Giulio town hall. Continue Reading »

I have to tell you about my latest wedding at Lake Como. It was September 2009 and we only had 16 guests at all. But with a quite good structure of the day, we had lots of wonderful moments.

Let me begin with their hotel at Menaggio, Grand Hotel Victoria. Everybody including their dog was waiting outside for the bride. Then she came down the stairs like a queen, kissed the groom and came to me saying: Oh my god, my knees are trembling, without you I would not affront this day today. Continue Reading »

Not every time bride and groom are coming with a full group of guests, sometimes they seem to escape the big festivities and have just a very small and intimate wedding. So it happened end of this September at lake Garda.
Kerstin and Wolfgang came from Düsseldorf and wished to get married at Bardolino. Why especially Bardolino and not any other village around Lake Garda? They had often been to this place and hat lots of wonderful memories, so they wanted to relighten all this nice thoughts from the former years of their life together.

Kerstin, the bride came up with a very special colour for her flowers, it was a dark lilac and shoes and bag in gold, so the flowers hat to fit this combination. How perfect the flowers were, so bride and bouquet were shining and the groom had his little buttonhole. Continue Reading »

I’ve already told you some months ago about the wonderful hotels on Lake Maggiore. These are ideal venues for an elegant wedding on these magic shores.
Chris and Suzanne choose Grand Hotel Majestic for they big day.

They came here with relatives and friends from United Kingdom to celebrate a wonderful event that was studied in every single detail.

Suzanne choose a theme inspired on lilac and café au lait enriched by many little crystals.

Suzanne designed personally Bridesmaids and flower girl dresses just thinking about these details.

Flower arrangement Suzanne wanted was very detailed.
All arrangements were created by Manuela one of the floral designer who work in close collaboration with La Piccola Selva. Basing on the theme Suzanne wanted, Manuela created a rich vintage arrangement.
She used Freesias blooms and Aqua Girl roses for lilac, and Cofee Break rose for cafe au lait shades. Purple was made with wide Trachelium and classic Vendela roses and Stephanotis made the white accent.
Little fabric Stephanotis were on all wedding stationery Suzanne and Chris had on their tables: invitations, names card, table chart and trivia boxes.

Crystals were on the tables to match Kartell chairs rented for the occasion and crystal vases supporting flowers decorations.

Some other little crystal were inside the Stephanotis flowers in centerpieces and bridal bouquet, just a little compact and rounded jewel.

Suzanne matched crystals on her dress too. There were crystals on the veil, on the dress and the wonderful vintage pin she had on her waist. Bridal dress was italian by Spose di Gio. Continue Reading »
