Floral arrangements at Castello di Miasino

Weddings at Castello di Miasino

Floral Arrangements by Monika Andenmatten, La Piccola Selva - Photography by Enrico Mocci

Among the wedding venues of the Italian Lake District the Castello di Miasino (Miasino’s Castle) is one of the most well known and requested ones by Italian couples. Some of the reasons might be its panoramic position (with a view to one of the arms of lake Orta), its parking facilities for guests and the possibility to celebrate your wedding with a civil ceremony.

Being a highly attended venue I often happened to work there in my function as floral designer. Visiting my website www.lapiccolaselva.it you can easily find a whole section dedicated to my floral arrangements at Castello di Miasino with hundreds of photographs. My decor proposals are ranging from centre table ones to the big staircase leading to the upper apartments and finally to the hall where the wedding ceremonies are celebrated with civil rite. Please also have a look into the garden where my floral compositions might beautify your reception buffet , not forgetting the entrance area of the Castle with the statue of Santa Sofia. To her feet I would advise a creation consisting of flowers, ferns and rose petals. Wedding Photo Gallery

I have recently updated my photo gallery of floral arrangements at the Castle of Miasino including a selection of the most beautiful ones from all the weddings I realized there during 2008. Please take a look and enjoy!

Click here to watch the Karin Bride's Video

Dear bride- and groom-to-be,
I would like to invite you to take a look and listen to my video as sometimes words are not enough.
Voice and charisma are a sensual vibrations, primordial experience and not really transmittable by words, not even by the most analytic text.
The video shows me while performing in various locations and occasions, from club, theatre, church, civil ceremony, convention, corporate dinner to private party and weddings.
I hope the love, intensity, passion and fun which lie beneath will transmit.

Take a glance, have an earful and get an idea if my style corresponds with your wedding plans or… simply enjoy the music.

Interview with Wedding Soprano Karin Brides

Italian Wedding Soprano

Last month prestigious soprano singer Karin Brides, has joined the Italian Lakes Music Team. Karin is gifted with a splendid voice and notable international experience in the musical area and furthermore she sings in numerous languages, English, German, French and Italian.
Recently i had the pleasure to meet Karin Brides for a chat about her activity as soprano singer at weddings. Karin is extremely gentle and cordial and deeply loves her work.
You immediately will notice this while reading this interview!

  • Hi Karin, welcome to Italian Lakes Wedding Blog. What is it about your wedding music business that you are most proud of?
Every wedding I worked at I left bride, groom and the guests deeply touched and thankful. Their reactions made me realize that the music and the singing contributed in a major way to keep the energy high, to create a peak time for them.
  • How do you work with clients to choose musical selections for weddings?
I figure out what kind of music taste they have and see if they have already songs or arias in mind.
When I found out about the style of wedding they choose, if more private, casual or grande and official, whether a religious or civil ceremony. Then I look for songs that fit their style and location and together we create the program.
I figure out the couple’s expectations and then work out the details or/and make some other proposals to accomplish the sound-scenery. Continue Reading »

A Corner of Scotland on Lake Orta

scottish weddings on lake orta italy

Photography by Raffaello Mazzoleni - Italian Wedding Photojournalist

Lake Orta has always been one of the best destination for bridegrooms coming from all over the world. But not only!

Often is the trait d’union between different culture, very far from each other.
This is the case of Cristina and Derek. She comes from Genova and he is from Scotland.
A long love story and then the decision to getting married. Considering the wonderful places they both come from it is not easy making a decision. Portofino, Five Lands, Porto Venere or even some legendary castle in green Scottish country side.
What a difficult choice! And here it comes Lake Orta. They immediately fell in love with it. The perfect destination for their wedding.

Considering the distance it was not easy organizing all the event: ceremony, reception, flowers, music, invitation, guests coordination coming from Scotland and Ligura.
They decided to hire a wedding planner specialized in Lake Orta area. Their natural choice went on Valentina Lombardi from SposiamoVi – Torino. Valentina is a wedding planner with long experience on Lake Orta and she works with skillful professionals on the territory.

The photographer is Raffaello Mazzoleni who is the author of beautiful photojournalistic pictures that you can see in the SCOTTISH WEDDING PHOTO GALLERY for Cristina and Derek.

Floral arrangements are from La Piccola Selva thanks to the fantasy and creativity of floral designer Monika Andenmatten. La Piccola Selva has been leader for more than 20 years in floral arrangements and bridal bouquet creation for churches and best venues on Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.
Cristina and Derek for their reception venue decided for Hotel San Rocco in Orta San Giulio.

Planning a lakeshore summer wedding in Orta San Giulio

An event by Valentina Lombardi Lake Orta Wedding Planner

Photography by Ivana Porta - Torino, Italy

As a wedding coordinator I travel a lot in Piemonte organizing events: Langhe, Monferrato, Olympic valleys near Sestriere, up to Stresa and Pallanza on Lake Maggiore.
Every single place has a special appeal but nowhere is like enchanting Lake Orta to me. Planning a wedding in Orta San Giulio is always a magic emotion…

This was also in for Luisa and Massimiliano’s wedding.
A Saturday in the beginning of this summer. The day begins with a shady sun that soon turns in a wonderful, sunny and warm day. Just like Luisa wished.
Luisa and I have worked together for months, just one close to the other to plan her wedding in every single detail. Continue Reading »

Civil Wedding Ceremony in Orta San Giulio, lake Orta

Villa Bossi in Orta San Giulio is for sure one of the most evocative venues to set a civil bending in Italy.

It was built during the XVI century. The building is made up by a L shape house on three levels. The façade overlooks the lake allowing a wonderful view to Pella, Ronco, Madonna del Sasso Sanctuary and most of all precious mystic St Julius Island.
Villa Bossi was built on a pre-existing medieval building that is still part of its walls perimeter but it was renewed and enlarged during the centuries.
Nowadays the building houses Orta San Giulio town hall. The building is simple and sober but enriched with some lovely architectural elements such as the porch and the loggia.
The rooms inside are furnished with antique stunning furniture that you will surely love.

The garden is just charming and it is always opened to visitors.
Four flowerbeds, a wisteria pergola with some seats and a secular cypress and, most of all, the iron gate that face lake’s waters make it up. The garden blooms with many salmon roses: it is “Orta San Giulio rose” a new quality of rose created just for this wonderful village on the lake.

Villa Bossi is a unique place. You won’t find anything similar all over Italy. It is the favourite destination for bridegrooms coming from abroad. Here you can also celebrate the bending in the open-air garden facing the lake, the panorama will be the perfect frame for the celebration. Many romantic brides decide to arrive to the garden by oar or motorboat, only for them the precious iron gate will be opened.

Just imagine quiet and blue waters of the lake, St. Julius Island and a violin that plays just for you.
A short lane with petals all around will lead you to villa entrance, where, between two columns covered by flowers you will have the perfect bending for an unforgettable ceremony.

After the ceremony you could also decide to take the boat to have a short visit to St Julius Island where you could take some stunning wedding pictures that will be an indelible memory.
