Lake Como Weddings

The most enthusiastic wedding for 2009

My most complex wedding this year was in May at Lake Como. I had the best team with me to service Karin and Rui for their wedding at Dongo.

It was a sunny day, but quite windy. So the first task was to have the ready make-upped bride with fantastic hair done getting back to our hotel. Then all 65 guests had to hop on board of the “Freccia Azzurra” from my most experienced boat driver Giancarlo Sperduti.
So good, that we had him, as quite movy waves were running on the lake. We headed for Dongo for the civil wedding, bride and groom and all guests remained astonished about this historical and decorated room where Karin and Rui got married civilly. Thanks to the very welcoming major Signor Lilia.

Afterwards we were ongoing to GrandHotel Victoria at Menaggio, where always the director Paolo Palano awaits all my clients with a superb aperitivo including Italian Prosecco from Valdobiaddene and lots of stuzzicchini, the so called Italian finger food.

Again another step ahead we made for some extraordinary photos at Villa Balbianello, this historical tresor in the middle of Lake Como. Funny that the couple had a picture of the famous Loggia at home in Bermuda, so the photos there and in the marvellous garden of Villa Balbianello were a must.
May I thank as well Claudio Olivari, who is absolutely my best photographer over all. With so much patience for foreign brides and never disturbing, but still capturing the most beautiful moments of a couple.

The back we had to go to our hotel and location Villa Stupenda, some real strong waves now were crossing our drive, but we safely arrived at Bellano.

Prepared by Barbara Botta we looked on very cute and accurate prepared tables with black satin clothes and lilac flowers and decoration. All the briefings with my florists were filled with the question “but really black and purple for a wedding?”. But when you look at the result, it was outstanding, the couple was full of compliments for my flower lady.
Good food cooked by La Fiaba Catering, whom I know from my very beginnings of wedding organizations and finished off with a wonderful 2-tired-cake again with the lilac ribbons around it.

When I went home around 2 in the morning, I left all guests dancing at the Villa. Myself, sure I was tired, but so satisfied that all programmes of that day went well.

Wishing luck and a good organizer to all couples that are going to get married on the north Italian lakes. It makes you relax when somebody else is running about to keep everything working. And thanks again to my team for all the good work together over the last 9 years!
