Outdoor ceremony at Villa Bossi, Lake Orta

Villa Bossi is located in lovely little medieval village of Orta San Giulio. It is of the most evocative ceremony venues for a legal civil ceremony outdoor. It was built in 1500. Villa Bossi made up by a L shape building with three floors. Villa Bossi facade overlooks the lake overlooking Pella, Ronco villages on the other side of the lake and Madonna del Sasso Church on top of a rock. Most of all Villa Bossi is located just in front of mystic St Julius Island.

Let's see together a little history of this charming place that could be the perfect spot for your civil ceremony overlooking the lake. Villa Bossi was built on a pre existing medieval building that is still part of its walls perimeter. It was renewed and enlarged during the centuries. Nowadays Villa Bossi houses Orta San Giulio town hall. The villa is simple and sober but it has a wonderful porch and charming loggia.

The best part of the villa is surely its lovely garden. It is always full of flowers and peace. There is also a wisteria pergola and a secular cypress just by there lake. It is just here that you can plan your civil ceremony in Orta. Legal civil ceremonies can be performed outdoor in this wonderful garden. Ceremonies are usually held by the loggia that you can decorate as you prefer.

But the best part is the arrival of the bride! She can arrive with her father or maid of honor by boat. Groom and guests will wait for her at the end of the natural aisle of the garden. It seems like a outdoor natural cathedral on the lake. Ceremony here can be enriched with live or reordered music, readings or poems or even spiritual blessings. For the couples who are planning to elope Villa Bossi could be a perfect ceremony venue, it is located right in Orta and it is surely very romantic.

Villa Bossi can also fit bigger ceremonies with many guests and lot of wonderful decorations. In case of bad weather or Winter weddings Villa Bossi has also a wonderful room inside. The access is still from the same aisle coming from the waters of the lake. Indoor space is very charming: antique furniture and beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. This is not a plan be but a wonderful option too!

Villa Bossi is a unique place. You won’t find anything similar all over Italy. Just imagine quiet and blue waters of the lake, St. Julius Island and a violin that plays just for you...we are sure you will fall in love with that!
Villa Bossi recently opened also to symbolic blessings. This means that side of legal civil ceremonies you could also decide to plan a symbolic blessing just renting the area for you.

After the ceremony you could decide to take the boat to have a short visit to St Julius Island where you could take some stunning wedding photos. A little time for your own while your guest are having a wonderful boat trip too or a lovely aperitif by the shores. Most of the reception venues that we suggest are walking distance from Villa Bossi or can be reached by a lovely boat trip. You could board on the boat by Villa Bossi private jetty or from Orta main square. It can be reached by a little walk in the village, a wonderful experience!
