You’ve already decided for every detail of your special day, but you are looking for something more to make your wedding a fun day…
Do you want a pure Italian touch of originality? What about a special entry and exit?

You can choose a lovely APE-calessino to move through the narrow cobblestone streets of small villages on Lake Garda!
Calessino was born in Italy in 1948 as a three-wheeled transformation of the famous Vespa. Word “calessino” comes from its look. As a matter of fact it is very similar to a horse carriage, a sort of sofa on wheels finished in wood and covered with a semi-circular bellows awning.
The model was an breaking success: its small size made it the ideal vehicle to move in the ancient villages and seaside localities all over Italy, often characterized by narrow and steep alleys.

In the following years it became a great character of the Dolce Vita years, carrying the Hollywood stars around the islands and the most beautiful places on Mediterranean coast.
From Italy it reached Asian countries becoming a real bestseller. Perhaps because of its similarity to the exotic rickshaw, it spread across the south-east Asia as a means of public transportation and it is now known as tuk-tuk, a name deriving from onomatopoeic characteristic noise generated by its motor.
With its sixties design, it relive today the unforgettable charm of La Dolce Vita and it offers you a great opportunity to give a vintage and characteristic touch to your special day, like in Hayley and Chis’ wedding in Malcesine.

I love when also cars fit right in with the theme of the wedding!
Italian design offers many other solutions…of course Fiat 500 is a real Italian style icon.

So tiny and fun, it can be a great bridal car to take you from the church to your wedding reception… maybe dragging tin cans as tradition!
What’s your style? A sports car for a romantic getaway for just the two of you around the lake, a vintage car to reach one of the many castles on Lake Garda, or even a fun Buggy to surprise your guests?

….oh, and if you have no car, maybe you can hitch a ride on a Vespa, as suggested by these funny wedding photos! Continue Reading »

A Wedding day is a special day. Everyone wish to make it unique and unforgettable.
Lake Garda enchanted poets and painters for centuries with its beautiful and different landscapes- It offers fascinating solutions for the ceremony of your dreams.
Lake Garda East coast is embellished by many castles and crenellated cities.
This obviously is explained by the ancient history of this side of the lake and has its origins in the proximity to the elegant Verona.
Scala dynasty ruled the city for 125 years and extended its dominions to Lake Garda, leaving many historical testimonies.
One of the most famous is the castle of Malcesine.
Your Wedding in Malcesine will be certainly wonderful. You will enjoy this small village on the northern shore of the lake that seems suspended in time. It is a small village with cobbled streets that climb up a gentle slope until reaching the fortress overlooking the lake.

The castle hosts legal civil ceremonies in the incomparable setting of the tower: deep hues of the sky merging with blue of the lake will be the perfect background to your exchange of promises.
Malcesine can be visited by foot or by a funny “Ape Calessino” (tuk-tuk). You get lost in the labyrinth of alleyways between colourful houses and ancient palaces and to discover beautiful backgrounds for your wedding pictures. Continue Reading »

To Matteo and Martina it all seemed natural choosing the elegance of this noble city for their ceremony and the relaxed and joyful frame of Lake Garda for the reception.

Every wedding is unique and it is always a pleasure seeing bride and groom with beaming eyes in their very special day, but nothing can be truer in the case of Cesar and Cristina!
This couple travelled from Spain, bringing with them the warmth and laid down of their country. They decided that since collecting their friends and family from all over Spain would be a great challenge, they took the chance to transform their wedding into a romantic elope!

We appreciated their modern look and the fact that even if they had been together for a while and are already a family; they looked as if they had met yesterday and fell in love instantly!

So in love that the ring tradition was nearly overlooked in their wedding. They found a couple of colourful rings in Cristina’s jewel box and decided they were good enough for the ceremony. They stated firmly that they were marring the heart, not the finger! Continue Reading »

Have you ever had the feeling of knowing someone from the infinite past?
Definitely these are feelings arising when lovers look into each others eyes, lost in rapture, hypnotized by its vastness.
Steve and Sarah flew all the way from UK to find a location that could match their antique and noble acquaintance!

What could be a better place than Italy? A country full of story, sharing with its lovers hidden niches of infinite beauty.
During their visit around the Lake Garda, after visiting many characteristic villages and famous locations,Steve and Sarah came across a tiny well kept village in the North of the Lake called Malcesine. In this location filled with colorful little artisan shops, family run restaurants and the superb surrounding nature, they finally found what they were looking for!
The venue to tie the knot was Scaligero Castle, stately rising from the village promontory! The Castle has a very long and rich history. It had many owners who kept it polished and magnificent through the centuries. It was built in the first millennium by the Lombards and then destroyed and rebuilt by the Franks. From there on, it has been a jewel in the hands either of Republic of Venice, of Austrian-Hungarian Empire, of France and of many Italian lineages. Then it was declared National Monument in 1206.
In this rare pearl set in a fairy tale landscape, Steve and Sarah decided to celebrate their most important event as a couple: their wedding!

When the day finally arrived, everything was ready for their wonderful ceremony, young page boys and flower girls, cheerful guests were waiting for this very important day. Cascades of flowers were awaiting the couple for their vows exchange!

Our skillful photographers from Photo 27 Studio were able to capture unique shots, so delicate and important but so qucik to vanish in a heartbeat. We love especially the following photo, Sarah’s farewell to her previous life and Steve’s waiting, longing to start his new life with Sarah… and finally they exchanged vows and rings! This time I will tell you about a wedding that took place in the beginning of June at Lake Garda. Not in one of the well known villages, but at Padenghe, a small place on the Brescia-part of the Lake Garda. It has its castle like almost all towns around the lakes do have former fortezze that were build by the famous Scaliger people.

The castle was a nice scene for wedding photos. Maurizio and Judith did enjoy their day very much. It was sunny, 120 good humor friends and family were around them, as well as the team of wedding planners consisted by Britta, Romana and Romy from Italian Lakes Wedding – Creative Wedding team.

It started with the catholic wedding in the church of Padenghe, then followed by a easy aperitivo in front of the Agriturismo Pratello. This agriturismo has next to his farmhouse an elegant villa, so this is used for the wedding reception.
A wonderful wedding dinner was served, an typical Italian duo with Francesca and Davide did bring atmosphere into the evening and after the delicious plates there was much time for dancing. Continue Reading »

As you may know, Irish couples are known to be very friendly and loving. Looking at Paul’s and Annette’s wedding, we can only agree with it.

They decided to hold their ceremony in a warm Mediterranean summer in a very special location of Villa Cortine. This is an ancient villa located near the center of little town of Sirmione, a delightful Italian spot, famous for its peculiarity. It is situated in the middle of Lake Garda!
Sirmione and its surroundings is just the perfect scenario to enjoy medieval Italian culture, craftsmanship and fashion habits while filling eyes of nature’s beauty and without having to worry about noise and cars.

Villa Cortine sits upon the hill in the heart of such stunning peninsula, which was rendered immortal by the lyrics of Roman poet Catullo, and dominates the entire basin of Lake Garda.
A centennial park of rare essences and fragrant bushes surround the neo classic style villa built in 1870 by an Austrian nobleman Kurt von Koseritz, officer of art and Italian culture.
The wide park is embellished with nine different fountains and a main one, called Neptune. It greets guests at their entrance just wonderful! At the far end guests can either enjoy Lake Garda’s clear waters or sun bath on the pier of the villa. But Paul and Annette chose this venue also for the superb frescoes and interiors of the palace were precious marbles, byzantine stuccoes and polychromatic decor executed by Brera Academy revive the splendour of the past and delights adults and child.
