Scottish wedding at Lake Garda: Love at first sight with the fortress
When you enter the fortress, you feel like stepping back in time. This is what Gillian and Brian also thought, and they felt love at first sight for this place, despite some initial perplexity related to seeing it only in photos. As soon as they entered and saw the beauty of the fortress, which remembered them some Scottish castles, they knew immediately that it was exactly the setting they were looking for their fairytale scottish wedding at Lake Garda.
It took a year to plan it, and it was a fantastic 365 days thanks to Gillian and Brian’s sweetness and cooperation!
Ancient walls, the perfect backdrop for saying “Yes, I do”
Preparations were made at a hotel on Lake Garda, where they spent 3 days of celebrations together with all their guests. From here the group moved to the fortress: bride and bridesmaids arrived in a fantastic vintage Wolkswagen minibus, which was also later used for photos of the bride and groom after the ceremony was over.
The ancient walls of the fortress, the spacious and well-kept lawn along with a rich and elegant setting provided the perfect backdrop for the bride’s arrival, smiling in her gown and accompanied by her father and brother, wearing the traditional Scottish kilt.
Accompanying her entrance was the delicate sound of a harp while waiting for her under an arch of flowers was an excited groom. Hard to imagine a more beautiful situation to say “I do” and swear eternal love.
A romantic reception among the olive trees in the garden
The dinner for the guests – colorful, friendly, and all provided with umbrellas to protect themselves from the warm Italian sun – was set up in the garden.
Under the olive trees two long wooden tables were set up, simple but with a beautiful scenic effect, decorated with flowers in the center along the length of the tables and a row of light bulbs above to chase away the darkness.
To make this romantic reception even more fairy-tale-like, the tableau arranged next to an ancient well, the menu with a green sealing wax stamp, just to give it a touch of yesteryear, accompanied by a thank-you message for the guests. Modernity came with polaroids offered to guests to give their photographic contribution to the evening along with the indispensable flip flops for dancing, so beloved by women after a day in heels.

Such a day could only end with a crackling cake cutting, accompanied by pyrotechnic fountains in the background that made the two very happy newlyweds even more sparkling.
The dessert table and the classic tossing of the bride’s bouquet paved the way for the time of dancing, which involved everyone and went on wildly until two in the morning. The night and the romantic lighting with small warm light bulbs increased the charm of the fortress, which once again proved to be the perfect place to celebrate a romantic love story and realize a fairy-tale scottish wedding at Lake Garda.
We can say that, after this day, our lovely Scottish couple will live happily ever after!
