Italian Lakes Wedding Planner

It’s the 3rd of October 2009: the weather is mild and spectacular and all the family is very excited for Andrew and Severine wedding day! The Groom comes from Malta and the Bride is Suisse, they both love the Lakes and especially Lake Como.

The wedding organization started last winter and the first step to do was the choice of the Church.
When I first show Andrew and Severine Mezzegra Church, it was love at first sight!
The impressive terrace in front of the majestic Church, the atmosphere and the kindness of Don Luigi cancelled any doubts!
After the catholic ceremony, the newlyweds wanted to offer their guests the unique emotion of reaching the reception venue by boat, cruising between the incredible Lake Como landscapes and Villas.

To realize their dream, we choose a location centrally located in Como.
A lovely ancient private Villa, surrounded by and accurate garden.

The rooms still maintain their original furniture which really gives the charm!

Lake Como is very famous all over the world for its beautiful surroundings, but sometimes its main City, Como, is the less known. And this is a sin! In fact Como Town offers lot of things to do and see all year long (not only during spring and summer). Como lies directly on the lake and has great shops, museums, churches, tea rooms and a famous theatre.
Have a wedding in Como means match both the beauty of the lake and the comfort of a city. In particular, civil weddings ceremonies can be performed in a splendid ancient Villa on the Lake protagonist of many artistic exhibitions. The location is public, with large gardens and an area reserved for the ceremony in order to guarantee the privacy.
Beautiful pictures can be done by the photographer before moving at the reception venue. In case you are oriented for a symbolic ceremony, this can be arranged directly in the splendid gardens of the private villa where also reception will take place.
After the ceremony and pictures, just few steps, walking on the lakeshore, the newlyweds and their guests can reach a really hidden beauty property for the aperitif, music and dinner.

This private Villa has beautiful rooms and gardens and offers different options in terms of rental (from only one room and gardens to the whole villa). Of course this doesn’t mean that more than one wedding is admitted at the same time! Simply, those rooms not rented remain locked.
The choice of the catering is free so there are thousand options: from classical to typical to extremely modern and refined or special ethnic etc…

Many couples in Italy like something different than the traditional posed style of photography. They prefer a more natural approach to their wedding photography to show the fun and enjoyment of their wedding day with their families and friends in the Italian Lakes District.
There are many stories and vignettes at a wedding: the bride getting ready, ring bearer being coaxed to walk up the aisle, the bride’s mother watching the father-daughter dance. Moments like these, when photographed without posing, are Wedding Photojournalism or Wedding Reportage Photography.

So what is reportage wedding photography or wedding photojournalism? It is a way of photographing a wedding without setting up any of the photographs. The wedding photojournalist usually arrives well before the bride is dressed and stays until they take last photo of the bride and groom leaving the reception.
The photographer stays in the background and photographs events as they happen without any prompting. The advantage of reportage photography for the couple is they can spend more time with their wedding guests. This style of photography shows the atmosphere of the wedding and is non intrusive. The photographs are taken in a mixture of black & white and colour, telling the story of the day as it unfolds.

In the last years, especially in Northern Italy, there are many more civil weddings than in past times. In such town as Verbania, Como, Verona, Orta San Giulio and Stresa, civil bendings are more than religious ones.

Among the reasons that determined this new trend there: second weddings, that can be celebrated only at the town hall, the open-mindedness and swiftness of this kind of bending and also the increasing number of Destination Weddings.

Many think that civil weddings are less expensive and less formal than one celebrated in the church. But for sure it is not less important!
It is definitely a very important a sacred celebration equivalent to swear in a court. In fact Italian Law wants two witnesses present to the ceremony to be a guaranty, with their sign, of the absolute legitimacy of the bending that will bond between bride and groom.

In effect, civil ceremony is a celebration that has to be done in perfect agreement with Italian Laws instead of religious ones.
Civil bendings can be celebrated by mayors, or delegates and has to be done in authorized venues such as Town Halls, but also Villas, Castles, Hotels or even Garden, but all those places have to be authorized.
